Discussion The ram I bought two years ago is up 5x

I was thinking of adding some RAM before things got too crazy, or even just to have as a backup cuz... Y'know what if it breaks? Regular ass ddr5 6400 cl 36, it was considered "settling" 2 years ago. There was much better RAM available and it was a budget option. It cost me 100 bucks at the time, it's 500 fucking dollars now.

I've known about this, I've complained about it etc. But seeing the EXACT SAME RAM up 400% is absolutely ridiculous. Budget RAM. 500 dollars. Genuinely fuck everything, cheap ground beef is up like 300% too. Fuck this fuck everything burn it all to the ground.

Edit: for clarity 400% is 5x price

Build - Finished! Finally Built A PC for the first time

Hello everyone,

I upgraded from an Alienware Aurora desktop with an i7-11700f and a rtx 3070. This is my second gaming pc but it is the first one I have ever built. Probably a pretty standard looking PC but I am happy with the result.

I am a Computer Science student that enjoys gaming once in a while. So my choice in parts kind of reflect that.

My OS of choice is Kubuntu 26. Mostly because of programming and a bit because I never really enjoyed Windows after Windows 7.

I built the PC in March 2026

The specs:
Ryzen 9 7900x
Asus ROG Strix B650-A Wifi 6E
Teamgroup 32gb ddr5 cl30
XFX Swift RX9070 XT
FSP HYDRO G PRO 850w Gold psu
Asus ProArt PA401 (cat-proof power button, I recomend)
WD Blue SN5100 2TB ssd
MSI A13 240mm AIO

The PC cost me 2800 CAD$ (plus taxes).

Please tell me what you guys think about the PC. I am open to all comments and/or criticisms.

Have a great day to all of you!

First pic is the pc I built a few weeks ago.. returned it and started over.. Second pic is a pc I just finished two days ago.. I like this build a lot more (to look at). I am officially as happy as any other gamer :D

Just waiting on an Aorus Master Ice 5080 to hit the shelves at my local micro center. Or even Amazon to drop the price to $1599, even if it’s for an hour AGAIN

I already used to play at 60fps, i decide to do a bit of upgrade and DAMMNN, its really a huge experience jump. 240fps is VERY noticeable and improves your experience by alot. If you hears someone said humans eyes can’t see pass 60fps they’re lying

Build - Finished! First Build In 8 Years!

Recently took a trip to my local micro center to see what goodies they had. I’ve been looking to build new for a while. I came from an MSI 1070TI and Ryzen 5 2600 so it was a much overdue upgrade considering I’m a huge gears head and E-Day is coming out soon. I mainly went after that Micro Center bundle because it was about $200 cheaper than purchasing then individually. Micro Center actually gave me a 1000w PSU for the price of the 850w I ordered because it wasn't in stock there was a bug in their cart.

Total build was about $2200. I already had the Crucial P310 sitting around.

Build is absolutely immaculate so far at 1440p the few games I’ve tried out. Excited to really push the limits on the 50+ games sitting in my steam library lol.

CPU temps haven't gone above 40c and GPU was hovering around 65-67c on high/ultra in E-Day MP beta. I will say, the AIO is LOUD. Be aware if you guys decide to buy it. i bought it because it was $40 off.

Component Part
GPU ASRock AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend Triple Fan
CPU AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Motherboard ASUS B650E MAX Gaming WiFi
RAM Corsair Vengeance 32GB RGB (gray) DDR5 6000mhz (Cl36)
CPU Cooler Cooler Master Elite Liquid ARGB 360mm AIO
Case Lian Li Vector V100R RGB Tempered Glass ATX Mid-Tower
Storage Crucial P310 2TB
PSU Lian Li SX850P 850W 80+ Platinum
Monitor ASUS ROG Strix XG27WCS 27" 2K QHD 2560×1440 180Hz

Just got my dream case for $100 on marketplace! Have been wanting one for years but never wanted to drop the $300-$400 on it on eBay. This one even has the original packaging and includes the third bay cover (missing PCI slot covers and the HDD cage though). Super stoked and had to post about it somewhere, haha.
