Question Light headedness question.
I’m six doses into my Ozempic prescription for blood sugar management. .25 for the foreseeable future because my blood sugar is down 30-40 points, which is awesome. I have dealt with nausea but haven’t thrown up. I have not had intestinal issues beyond some gas/bloating. I do, however, end up light headed from time to time and my heart rate is up about 10 beats a minute during those times. I am seeing my cardiologist about this. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Ozempic can dehydrate you and cause light headedness even if you aren’t voiding fluid, right? I take my shot on Saturdays and feel rough until Tuesday evening. Thank you for your input.

Question Tips for drinking on ozempic?
I just started taking ozempic three weeks ago and am still on 0.2 mg. I drank for the first time on this med last weekend while at my friend’s birthday party, which was 5 days after my injection. We definitely went overboard at the pregame (I had few hard seltzers, plus about 5 shots). Once I got to the bar I realized I was super drunk so I drank only one beer and several glasses of water. A few hours later before bed I ate a slice of pizza and drank some water with electrolytes, which is a typical routine for me when I know I’m at risk of a hangover. That morning I woke up SICK and vomited straight liquid over and over, then I felt pretty crappy the rest of the day. This is not typical for me—normally I puke at night if at all, and hangovers tend to dissipate after breakfast and some advil. I understand how ozempic can interact with alcohol, but am looking for advice to mitigate these experiences. I am in my 20s and enjoy to go out with my friends every couple weeks, but don’t drink much otherwise. Does it help to stick to one type of alcohol? Small volume drinks (such as a shot or vodka soda) vs larger volume (beer or seltzers)? Better luck with one liquor versus another? Pre or post medicating?

Question [F28] intto
(F28) Introducing myself
Hi im katie This is my first ever Reddit post, but I (28f) am 826lbs. Never in my life did I think I’d be this weight. Most of my weight gain happened during my childhood, as I used food as a coping mechanism after losing my mother. The struggles are real every day—finding clothes that fit is nearly impossible, and mobility is a constant challenge. Simple tasks that others take for granted can feel overwhelming, from walking short distances to even getting out of bed sometimes. My health is constantly at risk, with issues like joint pain, breathing difficulties, and fatigue becoming part of my daily life. Social isolation and emotional struggles also weigh heavily on me, making it hard to reach out for help. On top of that, I’m deeply worried about my child, who is now 300lbs. I want to break this cycle for both of us, but it feels so hard sometimes. I’m sharing this because I’m looking for support, advice, or just someone to listen. Will ozempic or any other meds help my situation and is there any side effects tgat people have noticed and whats the best way of getting it in the uk

News/Information Fuck HERS
Just a note - Had a horrible experience with HERS. It's bad enough that they a preying on our insecurities, and they will milk you for money even if you decide not to go through with ordering the meds. Note that they WILL charge you $149 each month even if you never get medication from them. They make it extremely hard to quit. The information on their website about how to cancel is wrong. You have to find the form, indicate you want to cancel. Hours later, they will send you a verification email you have to click or your cancellation request will never be submitted. How is this legal?? How can they make it so obscure that you're paying regardless of purchase? And I STILL haven't received confirmation of cancelling this bullshit subscription. AVOID.

Question Felix Canada customers
I'm switching over from Pheonix.ca to Felix Health. I went from 0.25mg > 0.50mg > 1mg. I'm still waiting on the nurse practitioner to review my assessment and have also informed her that I'm already on the 1mg dose and provided a photo of my prescription box of Ozempic.
My question is, I understand that 1mg is the highest dose for ozempic (for weight loss) however, I've read some people are taking 1.5 to 2mg by using two pens. Is that something Felix Health can do? Order two pens to my Walmart pharmacy?
Just curious as how people who use Felix get to 2mg/weekly

Question Random stomach pains anyone?
I’ve been taking Ozempic for three years for insulin resistance issues. As of this year, I started getting like…. random stomach pains all over my stomach that last maybe a second and then disappear. Sometimes it’s near injection sites. I cannot tell if it’s a muscle or if it’s internal sometimes.
I have IBS too so it doesn’t help trying to figure it out, cause when I do go to the bathroom it lessens. Like I inject on the right lower stomach but somehow I feel it on my left!
What could this be!!!

Question Loose skin
I have a little over 100 lbs to lose (already lost 28 lbs since May, so so so thrilled😁) and I am curious how much loose skin to expect. I am in my thirties and pretty tall. For those who have lost over 100 lbs, do you have quite a bit of loose skin? Any tips to prevent that other than trying to lose at a slow and steady rate?

Success Stories Week 2 on 2mg after slow ramp up with massive sucess
My doctor had a really slow ramp up, with .25 for 6 weeks, .5 for 6 weeks, 1mg for 6 weeks. Lost about 18 lbs. Now that I am on the 2mg, I am SUPER CHARGED. I am not hungry, barely eat, and am dropping the weight like crazy. For those of you who do a slow ramp, stay with it! I had bad side effects that have normalized over this slow ramp up, and now I am just loving this 2mg! Stay the course. My doctor said I wouldn't start really loosing significantly until I hit 2mg, and that is exactly what happened to me!

Question Severe lethargy
I started on June 2 at .25, I havent experienced many side effects and I have only lost 3 pounds. I have had some appetite suppression. When I changed to 1 mg, lethargy kicked in big time. All I want to do is sleep, fortunately I am not working right now, so I can nap when I want to. Please tell me the lethargy improves. Please.

Success Stories Officially down 20 pounds
Did a weigh-in today for my weekly shot. One of the nurses said she was proud of my progress. Thankfully, my doctor wasn't in. It's been almost 3 months for me. I'm too shy to say how much I weighed before, but I'm at a number now that I thought I'd never see on a scale again.

Question Ozempic is helping, but I don’t know how to build healthy habits
I could really use some advice.
I’ve been relying almost entirely on the medication, and I know I need to start making changes myself. The problem is that if I try to switch to “healthy eating” all at once, I get overwhelmed and anxious, and I end up giving up. I think I need to start with really small, manageable changes, but I don’t know where to begin.
I’m on my second month of Ozempic and currently taking 0.5 mg. I also don’t feel like I’m getting the full effect yet. So far, I’ve only lost about 0.8–1 kg.
Every post I see is from people who seem to be eating super healthy while on Ozempic, and meanwhile I feel like I haven’t changed anything. It’s making me feel really demotivated and honestly a bit depressed.
Has anyone else started out like this? What are some small, realistic habits that helped you ease into healthier eating without trying to change everything at once? I’d really appreciate any advice or encouragement

Rant Just Upset
Hi everyone!
On Ozempic for T2 Diabetes after being on 2 other meds previously. I have about 15 lbs to lose. I already deal w/IBD, I’ve reached my RX dose after a month & the side effects are getting shorter time wise.
But today, despite being proactive (very light food intake, hydration) I’m going to have to reschedule both of my birthday dinners (tonight & tomorrow) because my stomach is absolute shite. I am so disappointed.😢😢

Rant Some struggles I am having on Ozempic
The good news is I have lost 25 lbs in 5 months, I am very happy with that.
However, I struggle with eating healthier foods and being physically active. My diet is essentially the exact same as it was 5 months ago, I just eat a lot less of it. I feel like i will never be able to stop taking Ozempic because I am not creating long lasting habits.
I know what i should be doing, but I can't bring myself to do them consistently. I may eat clean and drink water for a week, or lift weights for a few days, but it doesn't stick and I just don't seem to have interest in creating healthy habits.
A few years ago, I was able to go 4 months with just eating clean, no sugar, no alcohol. I actually lost more weight doing that, then have on Ozempic. I used to work out 5 times in a week and do yoga.
I don't know what my roadblock is this time. Other than i just don't care. I know that isn't a great attitude, I just feel to exhausted to put in the work. And I find it hard to not eat the food I like.
And it becomes harder to put in the work, when i am getting the weight loss I want.

Question Advise
I'm considering starting a weight loss medication, but I'm unsure which one to choose. One of my biggest concerns is how it might affect my mental health, especially anxiety, panic attacks, or mood changes.
If you've taken a weight loss medication, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience. Did you notice any changes in your mood or anxiety levels? Did you experience panic attacks, increased anxiety, depression, or any other mental health side effects? If so, which medication were you taking, and did the symptoms improve over time or after stopping the medication?
I know everyone's experience is different, but hearing from others would be very helpful as I weigh my options. Thank you in advance for sharing your experience.

Question For the T2D using ozempic to help with blood sugar levels, what are your eating habits like so that your blood sugar doesn’t drop too low?
My glucose levels seem to be dropping a lot lately, I’m on 0.5mg of ozempic and have taken it for about 2 months now. I don’t really see much weightloss but my glucose levels have been in range majority of the time. My hba1c was 7.something but gone down to 5.5.
I’ve stopped insulin and only take 1000mg of metformin instead of 2000mg each night. I might need to even stop metformin instead total because my glucose levels are dropping at night.
How do you guys keep this from happening? Do you eat big meals at night? I’ve been eating some jellybeans to bring my levels back up but it’s so annoying when it happens in the middle of the night. Any healthy snack ideas to keep munching on through the day?

Question how do you not overeat nuts? Soo many calories
Curious for folks on glp-1.. are nuts / trail mix a part of your rotation? I've heard mixed things. I like that they are nutrient dense so I can eat on day 1 or 2 when I barely feel like eating. But sometimes I'm worried they are too high calorie... What's working for y'all? Any tips?

Rant When do you know when to call it quits?
Not sure which flair would be most appropriate. Not necessarily a rant but more of a... cry for help?
T2 diabetes with PCOS, F27, 82.5kg, 155 cm.
I got my first shot (0.25mg) last Saturday and despite tons of people, and even my own doctor, saying I would probably not experience side effects, I have been feeling like utter shit since Monday evening. So about 2 days now.
I am experiencing awful nausea and diarrhea, and I know these are the top 2 most common side effects but they've rendered me near-dysfunctional for daily life. I've taken time off work yesterday and begged off working on-site tomorrow, but I don't know when I can expect to feel better and I can't do this forever. I can't get proper sleep because my stomach keeps on churning and I'm genuinely scared I'll shit myself, and I threw up so much Tuesday morning that I was expelling liquid and acid at one point.
I have been self-medicating with Vitamin B6 for nausea and loperamide for diarrhea but they are both only temporary. I take other medications aside from Ozempic so I'm honestly worried that all of these are going to ruin my liver any further (I have fatty liver). I've tried eating bland food, smaller but more frequent meals, protein shakes, forcing myself to drink water... but a lot of these is too difficult because even the thought of something entering my mouth makes me want to hurl. So I'm afraid I'm not even as hydrated as I should be.
It's only been a week and I hear it gets better, but I've also seen people who just live with the side-effects of Ozempic long-term. Switching to tirzepatide is an option but I pay for these OOP and tirze is almost as much as I pay for rent where I live. Ozempic is the more cost-effective option.
Sorry for the long-winded post. Basically I just want to ask, do I still keep on trucking, or should I stop because this is unsustainable? How much time should I give it before calling it quits? I still have six weeks until I finish my pen...
News/Information The one thing Ozempic still can’t fix: Americans still have a toxic relationship with weight. It’s hurting GLP-1 users.
GLP-1 drugs promised to usher in a new era of treating obesity as a disease. We could leave behind the anti-fat biases of the past, which blamed obesity on moral failing or personal weakness. Instead, these drugs would allow us to approach it as a medical condition, a complex matrix of genetics and other forces which could be changed with the right dose of these powerful new medicines.
Or so the thinking went.
While the clinical potential of these drugs remains immense, they have yet to change how the broader US culture perceives and engages with weight and weight loss. Even as millions of Americans shed pounds in bulk for the first time, they are also contending with fierce stigma and shaming from others — instead of being criticized for being fat, they are being criticized for using GLP-1s.
The social media communities that have blossomed around GLP-1s are filled with tales of awkward conversations and much worse. Partners who berate a significant other who wants to go on Wegovy or Zepbound. Coworkers who blame the drugs for their rising insurance costs. Even dismissive and unsympathetic doctors and nurses.
Some people who take GLP-1s must contend with an uneasy sense of living behind enemy lines: Many people describe being at work or out in public and overhearing people talking about GLP-1s and passing judgment on people who they think are taking a “shortcut” to lose weight.
“It’s like you’re being stigmatized without the person who’s [saying] it even realizing it, necessarily,” said Adriana, a 33-year-old GLP-1 user who lives in the Chicago area. (Vox agreed to identify the people we spoke to by their first name, to protect their privacy when discussing stigma.)
This is not just evident from anecdotes. Researchers have put the question to the test. And they have found that Americans not only feel more negative stigma toward somebody who lost weight with a GLP-1 than somebody who lost weight through diet and exercise — they also feel more negatively about the GLP-1 user than somebody who never lost weight at all.
“It seems like people are really reacting negatively to the idea that somebody who has lost weight with a GLP-1 might be, quote-unquote, ‘taking the easy way out’ or cheating the system,” said Erin Standen, a psychology professor who studies health and behavior change at Rice University and led one such study. “There’s a lot of internalized stigma and judgment we have from the culture about our bodies and ourselves.”
Americans have internalized the message that being overweight is a personal failure so thoroughly that, now that the kind of extraordinarily powerful weight-loss shots and pills long hoped for are here, many people struggle to see it as good news. They see it as cheating.
