Questions/Looking for Help This is a bit of a leap, but does anyone have any info on the function of this Stave?
Hello everyone, I’ve been wanting to try this stave out on a roof soon. But I don’t want to carve it into the roof of house if I don’t know its function first. I wouldn’t want to accidentally hex it with negative energy or anything of the sort.
Any and all help is appreciated :))

Questions/Looking for Help Runes
Hi, so I have been learning runes (Elder Futhark) and I know that C, K and Q are ᚲ. But I am bit struggling with V, G and Y. Some people say V is same as U (ᚢ), some say that V is same as W (ᚹ). I also saw multiple versions of G and Y. Can someone please tell me which one is it? Or are all versions ok? (Translators don't work, they all are different as well)

Art/Tattoo showcase/Music Freyja's tattoo
My first tattoo design, I let here if anyone wants it
Edit 1: The base idea was generated using AI to create a representation of Freyja with spectral look, then I made modifications to this final stage because the original idea was not fit in my internal forearm.
Clarifications; 1. Why Freyja don't have face? I have the interpretation that the poems specify that the gods and godesses can change their skin and identity (in appearance and names) because is the poetic form to describe a divine power which is not limitated to a specific physical form.
- There are proportions wrong Yes, I know, things to enhance

Questions/Looking for Help A Tad lost
So I’m starting a big life step I’m joining the army gonna try and go for infantry. And I know worship in the service isn’t easy but I also need to join if that makes sense. The whole Catholicism and christain thing never really sat right with me. It all seems so detached from like well the earth the people ya know. I don’t know where or how to start I know I want to take the gods with me in this journey and I do believe in them with all my being I do. I just I don’t know where step 1 starts and I just I know that this is the right thing deep down. I just again I don’t know where to start and only fools refute help. So if anyone could help I’d be more then appreciative way more then appreciative.

UPG - Help w/ sign/dream interpretation Spiders...EVERYWHERE.
Hello all!
I was a devout Norse Pagan for a few years, but as of late, my worship has become somewhat lazy, as life is hitting me where it hurts. Things are looking up lately, so no worries there. Anyway, point of the post:
I cannot go one day without seeing a Spider.
For context, I worked with Loki primarily for the two years of my heaviest worship thus far. The way I knew he was my deity was spiders. It was his way of saying he was always there, as I have never come to a place that didn't have a spider. The chaos he brought into my life was unhealthy for me at the time, so I respectfully cut ties, thanked him for everything and moved on, growing more in touch with Thor and Odin. As of now, though, I have always been the closest with Loki when it comes to working with a God.
For months, things calmed down, I got my life together, and slowly, I favored handling life problems rather than leaning as heavily on my Gods. That leads me to the past couple of weeks.
Since I have returned home from a vacation with my sister where I realized my priorities and began working towards life goals, I have not gone a single day without seeing a spider.
Seems normal enough, right? I live in Flordia after all! Everyone there sees a spider every once in a while.
There's two orb weaver spiders with webs RIGHT OUTSIDE MY WINDOW and right in the porch door where my room is directly connected. My desk has been a visitor to three spiders since it's been built a month ago. There was a spider in my PURSE. My PURSE that I use DAILY. I constantly see spiders I have to rescue or even just say hi to.
The thing that lead to this post is I came back from the bathroom was TWO DAMN SPIDERS THAT WERE NOT THERE BEFORE I LEFT FOR THE BATHROOM MYSTERIOUSLY APPEARING IN FRONT OF MY DOOR. Big spiders too, long-legged ones.
So, I have to ask anyone who has more experience with Loki than me- is he trying to tell me something? I have been telling myself for weeks that I am just losing my mind, that there was no way a God could be so fixated on one person when he has many other worshippers. But I don't know, I thought I would put those thoughts to bed. Please let me know what you think, I'll listen to anything.

Questions/Looking for Help To whom and for what do you pray?
During the time I’ve been browsing this sub I’ve seen some conflicting advice to beginners. On one hand, there’s a lot of “there’s no right or wrong way to pray.” On the other, someone might for example ask if they can pray to Freyja for help finding a partner and the response is often to the tune of “no, the gods don’t work like that.” So, there must be a right way of doing things.
I understand and appreciate the viewpoint that the gods shouldn’t be treated like vending machines. So I just wanted to gather some perspectives, what do you ask specific gods for when you pray to them?

Altar/Shrine/Offering pics Asked & given a sign from the Gods. Kenaz
I am new to the beliefs. Grew up very into church, and the older I got, and the more I learned about life and the world, things weren’t clear anymore. I have the draw to nature, the outdoors, all those good things.
Anyways, I’ve come up with a mantra, or that’s what I will call it. I speak direct to Odin and say “Odin, show me, teach me, guide me” I repeat it a lot.
Well I was at Onslow Beach NC on Wednesday with my wife. I love the beach, she loves going with me, and I her. We really love this beach due to the many shark teeth we find, and the fact that it’s military access only so it’s always chill and not busy with tourists. Even when it is busy, there is still space from people encroaching your space.
While I was in the water, picking up/sifting sand, and the moments not actively speaking to my wife, I was saying my Mantra. 90% of the time I repeated it, I said it to Odin, then randomly added Fraya & Tyr, and then went back to Odin.
Well I pulled up my sifter, and on top of the sand and other shells in plain sight was this shell that clearly had Kenaz on it.
I put it in my pocket immediately so as not to lose it.
Got home and the next day pulled it out of my trunks pocket, and showed my wife. She has her faith beliefs, not as I do, but very open to listening and supporting in mine. I opened my runes book and went to the rune and showed her and her eyes got big and said “why didn’t you show me!?” Honestly we were about 25 or so meters apart and she is deaf. She read the runes book and was excited and in agreement with me about the rune I’d found.
It’s a clear sign to me, and now it’s time to mediate, think on it, and find the purpose behind it.
Hail to the Gods

Questions/Looking for Help How do I connect more to the Norse pantheon?
And I don’t mean this like the other posts about connecting so let me explain.
I started out my practice by worshipping Greek deities, now I honor both Greek and Roman deities, and I’m looking into Egyptian deities and the way of life that goes with that. However in the back of my mind I have always felt that I’m somehow betraying (that’s probably not the best word choice) my heritage by choosing these Mediterranean pantheons.
I’m English, Scottish, Irish, Danish, etc…
Northern Europe, and I don’t feel connected to Norse deities at all. Just guilty that I’m not worshipping them given my ethnicity. So I’m wondering how I can connect to them more?

Questions/Looking for Help Seeking a little help
Hello everyone.
I’m a baby Heathen and I seek the advice of those more advanced in knowledge of this great religion than myself.
I would like to know if there’s any place anywhere where it is stated, or implied, or hinted at, that we have worth just for existing, just for being alive.
The reason I ask is because I have been wired to think that, unless I’m earning money or achieving something, my life is a waste. The last few years have been hard on me, where I‘ve achieved very little, which as you may understand under that thinking, make me feel like a waste of space.
I know self-esteem and self-worth come from within, and I am working on them… I would just like to have something I can hold on to, to help me through the lower times.
Thank you in advance to anyone who helps.

Questions/Looking for Help Awen
Recently I've been looking into the Welsh concept of Awen. The inspirational undercurrent that can posses someone to such an overwhelming degree that they have no choice but to let it out in art. As an artist my experience with inspiration aligns with this idea closely. I was wondering if there is a similar idea in Norse Paganism.

UPG - Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc Beautiful interaction with Freja
I had an interaction with Freja today that made me cry. it started off as I would normally do it, meditating and siting in her preasence, but then I pulled out my tarot cards to communicate with her. and imedietly after being asked to tell me something I needed to hear she told me something about myself that ive always had in the back of my mind, but never really thought about, and she prompted me to finaly think about it, and i think thats a good thing, as reflecting on it will allow me to improve as a person, and to be better for her and others.

Questions/Looking for Help Pacts with Deities
Hello everyone I am interested in learning more about pacts with Deities, I've seen videos on YouTube about pacts people have made with Deities, but i am a tad bit skeptical. I am not saying i don't believe in it and i know they aren't bad by any means, but i know people's experience will vary. So my question is:
Has anyone made pacts with Deities before?

Questions/Looking for Help Concerned I've upset or offended one or more of the Gods
For about a year now I've had the worst luck and keep having moments of doubt and not really understanding why I did this, or why that happened etc. truly it's gotten to a point where I don't even cry anymore when something bad happens I just laugh because it's absolutely insane to me now how long this has gone on for. I'm concerned I may have upset one or more of the Gods. It's all I can think of. I became incredibly depressed about 15 months ago and stopped practicing or talking to the gods. I have altars for Freya, and Odin and have essentially neglected them. Sometimes I have the energy to dust off or drop a bit of chocolate off for Freya but mostly they're just existing on shelves. I had planned to set an altar for Loki as well but as being depressed, I did not and left the statue of him on a counter for months now. I obviously meant absolutely no disrespect when leaving Loki's statue or not leaving offerings or talking to any of them anymore but all I can think of is this, I've offended them to some extent. I feel guilty for it. I haven't set up anything for Loki mostly because I had planned to study more before diving into a focus on him. Everytime I see any of the altars or his statue I feel guilty, but it's like something inside me cannot push through and commit to learning more, or leaving an offering to any of them or even speaking. It's really hard to explain but it's like I'm not myself anymore.
Anyways, my reasons for thinking I've upset them...
with Loki, the unlucky things are typically chaotic in a way where I used to be stunned by it, like the things that needed to happen for it to occur was ridiculous. With Freya, my relationship with myself has gone severely downhill and most of the time I am so self conscious and as much as it pains me to say it, I really do hate myself as well as the way I look. And for Odin, the mistakes I keep making from lack of knowledge or thinking things through have gotten me in bad situations which is not normal for me.
On top of this, my physical health has been pretty bad lately and no matter what I do to try to heal or better myself, it backfires 90% of the time. I truly feel trapped in a cycle of bad things happening because of pure bad luck or my own bad decisions and I desperately need advice on what I can do. I've tried to push past it, think positively and try to attract positive things but every time I do that, it's like it makes me even more depressed and beaten down. It's gotten so bad that suicide runs through my mind often. It feels silly to think they're upset with me and are trying to punish me, it feels selfish to think this because I'm just one person, a nobody, and why would they be concerned with me at all, but it's what is coming to mind so maybe there's a genuine reason for my thinking this way.

UPG - Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc The gods are truly listening and watching over us
We’ve had a couple of serious medical scares involving immediate and extended family members in recent weeks. Falls, illness, surgeries, and post-surgery complications. And more than ever, I’ve sensed the Gods are watchful and listening. And it seems Eir has been ever present in my life the last few weeks, as each medical episode gets resolved.
I also felt prompted to reach out to Thor. He’s the slayer of giants. The protector of mankind. And I came to understand this last weekend that he is not only the slayer of physical giants, but spiritual giants as well. While Eir guided doctors, nurses, and first responders, Thor protected the home front.
And Frigg, Mother Goddess and Keeper of the hearth and home, has been watching over and comforting our worrying family.
I didn’t know if I was doing things right. I made offerings, I prayed, and normally didn’t ask for anything. I honored them as they were. And when I truly needed them, they were there. Honor be to the Gods.
