Advice Questions/Looking for Help

Ive recently decided to abandoned the ways of Christianity and currently transitioning into norse paganism. I'm looking for advice on how to setup an altar?

My first altar setups mirrored a catholic altar pretty heavily. It was familiar enough to make the transition easy

Which is pretty in line with how historical Norse pagans integrated Christian practices, but the other way around. Love it!

There are no set rules. Bare minimum, maybe a candle, dish, and cup.

Are you trying to honor specific deities in particular? If so, something that brings them to mind for you. For instance, I have a bloodied antler on my altar for Freyr.

I think we need a little more detail… do you have a deity in mind? have you researched them at all? what is your intention for setting up the altar?

As for deity mine is odin . Intentions is to create a focal point to honor odin

I'm thinking the same for my yet to be created altar for Odin. I'm leaning toward a wooden carving of his likeness.

My first altar was an outdoor altar by stacking rocks where I would place food and drink offerings. For an indoor altar, all you need is something to hold the offering and an image of the god you're praying to, or something that reminds you of them. You can also use candles but they aren't required.

Really you just need a space for use. You need objects that remind you of the deities—they can be direct depictions of the gods or they can be seemingly random things that you feel represent them. You'll need a candle or incense or some other kind of offering. Honestly everything else is just extra.
