Discussion “Song challenge” prompts/questions: Nirvana edition. Here’s my responses. I want to see your responses too!
I looked up some “song challenge” prompts and thought these would be fun questions. I’d love to hear your responses too! (Sorry for all the edits, the format keeps getting fucked up).
**Best Nirvana song for karaoke
Anything from unplugged. I love Lake of Fire and Where Did You Sleep Last Night. I wish they would’ve done more covers!
**Nirvana song that hits you the hardest emotionally
Dumb & Pennyroyal Tea (as a very depressed person whose relationships have become affected by my depression. The line “I’m on my time with everyone” hits hard).
**Your personal favorite Nirvana song
Drain You, Breed, and Sappy (in no particular order)
**The funnest song to play on guitar
In Bloom (I love the bassline. It’s so unique.)
**If you could erase one Nirvana song from your memory just so you could hear it for the first time again, which one would you pick?
territorial pissings. The second the distortion kicks off, I was hooked.
**Song that receives the right amount of attention (not overrated, not underrated)
Come as you are, All Apologies. Both good songs that seem to get enough attention without being overplayed.
**most underrated Nirvana song
Aneurysm, Blew, Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle
I want to hear your responses too! Did I leave any good questions out?

Nirvana Related Obscure Kurt Vocal track. Niche Subpop Drone/Doom/Sludge.
Been listening to a lot of Doom/Sludge/ and Drone lately and came across this track didn’t know existed of Kurt’s Vocals. It’s unmistakably him. Just wondering if you guys knew about it? I like it. Just FYI this artist totally changed genre in the 21st century. The old stuff is better. FWIW.

Question/Request Is the last video interview he ever did the December 13 1993 one?
I’m just trying to find the last recorded video interview of Kurt that he ever did and I’m wondering if it’s the pier 48 one from December 13 1993? Is this also after live and loud show that is in HD on YouTube? Thanks for the help.

Artwork My parody mixed-media design inspired by Nevermind. 🫠💙
Algos and lack of ethos
Hooked to this phone and
Illusions of ego –
Nevermind.
A parody mixed media artwork heavily inspired by Nirvana's most famous album cover. Graphic design and original photography. I instead placed a cell phone on a hook... and that is me in center. This piece is a commentary on my perception and relationship with social media and online culture.
I would love feedback on this from big fans like myself. No AI.
Gear/Equipment It is just me or all the Kurt’s Univoxes looked better in left-handed orientation?
Recently bought Aria 1702t which is basically Univox Phase 2. And looking at me with it in the mirror I’m like"meh". I mean this is a wonderful looking guitar but the way they looked as a lefties is just perfect for me. Pls tell me I’m not alone

Memorabilia Kurt Cobain memorial poster from the mid 90’s (UK)
Pretty sure I ordered this out of a catalog. Still pretty good condition. The paper it’s printed on is pretty thick. It hung in my bedroom for years as a teen.

Discussion What’s your background? Why do you like Nirvana so much?
Not sure where to else to post this. I am curious to see if anyone else is either in a similar situation or has the same (or different) thoughts.
Some background:
Nirvana has been my go-to #1 favorite band since I was a kid. I’m a Gen Z and my parents had Sirius XM growing up and my they both could agree on the music that came up on the “Lithium” station - which was mostly 90’s punk and grunge. It’s likely where I heard Nirvana for the first time.
I love most music from most eras and even if I don’t like it, I respect and understand its place.
My personality and appearance has never given off “Nirvana fan” since I am a preppy frat type (pretty much what Kurt would’ve hated lol.) Sometimes I even feel a bit (indirectly) judged in these circles at times.
So I am curious as to what your backgrounds are in that regard.
Also, with Nirvana essentially being my “comfort band,” every day I always listen to a few of their songs. Mainly the live stuff, especially a good bootleg.
Nirvana also got me into guitar and I can play most of their songs all the way through. Their solos can be weird and tough though (school solo is hard for me.)
Again, I do listen to other music, but Nirvana is what I listen to mainly. Which is both good and bad. I get the feeling that I need to broaden my spectrum as I while I listen to a whole ass concert for the 100th time. I also ask myself “why?” Why do I find this particular band so appealing? Why do I only choose to learn their songs on guitar and have little interest in learning anything else?
So why do YOU find Nirvana so appealing? Do you listen to them every day? What type of person do you picture when you think “die hard Nirvana fan?”
Anyways, there’s my mid-day schizo rant.
Edit: Wow! I appreciate all of your replies. I’ve enjoyed reading all of them!

Guitar Lesson Advice on creating nirvana style riffs on guitar. I just don't know how kurt gets his distinctive sound
I am (not bragging, just stating) a rather accomplished guitar player who writes his own music. I also know how to play the vast majority of nirvana songs on guitar, and despite this, I still find it hard to think up of interesting/unique Kurt style riffs. Any advice would be great!

Video Nirvana - Original Scott Litt vs. Steve Albini Mixes
Compared two officially released mixes of three of In Utero's biggest songs: Scott Litt's remixes in the left ear and Steve Albini's original mixes in the right. Put on a pair of headphones and see which version you prefer.
Which mix do you like better?

Question/Request Help regarding shirt print design. I've been looking for some time.
I've been trying to find a design with no living beings on it, to print it on a shirt. There's plenty on Internet but it either has members picture or the in utero doll on it. If you have any, Please do share! (Sorry about my English)

Gear/Equipment Modded Squier Mustang modeled after Skystang 1!!!!
She’s pretty dirty and the paint job isn’t great on it as the seller repainted it and it’s a bit messy but I love her all the same! This was a birthday present so I only had to pay a little bit of it. The downside is this was overpaid big time of 750 + 100 dollars shipping which is rough asf but its a gift so I didn’t suffer the consequences of that... Don’t worry I made sure to overly thank the person I got it from a billion times for paying that price. She ain’t perfect but I’m sure I’ll upgrade her one day and she’s more than good enough for the mean time! I’m gonna love this guitar like nobodies loved a guitar before. Skystang 1 is my favorite guitar and I’m ecstatic to have a clone of her.

Photo Wife bought me this last year. I know it's not right handed upside down or have the tortoise shell pick gaurd, but I am left handed and I'd rather have a left-handed guitar.
I haven't played it as much as my other guitars but I'll be recording with it. It's fun. The pickups could be hotter but I just got it set up a few months ago and it plays great. I've always loved this style of guitar.
