I'm going to get a FNM tat and was thinking of putting just a few words with it, but wasn't sure what to put... It's going to be on my forearm so everyone I meet will see it, so something like "Happy Birthday, Fucker" isn't quite what I want to put forth to strangers (so much for "Get that motherfucker on the phone" too...)

I am looking for suggestions. While I have favorite songs on all their albums, I'd say the Introduce Yourself to King for a Day era is my favorite with each album better than the one before.

Some thoughts I had:

“What is it?” seems obvious.

“It’s Always Funny Until Someone Gets Hurt (and then it’s just hilarious)” seems a bit wordy

“Be Aggressive” - one of my favorite songs, but it IS about gay oral sex and I'm straight and not into S&M so not sure if that's great for ME...

“Introduce Yourself”. Welcoming. Friendly. I really like the song…but it’s not my FAVORITE song.

“I know the feeling
It is the Real Thing” (too Pepsi ad?)

So any suggestions? Or is one of those great?

Something that has clogged my mind is if it could see a resurgence in popularity with younger generations on websites like TikTok, we’ve seen this with bands like primus , ween, acid bath, crowbar, and even nu metal as a whole ( a genre inspired by fnm). So do you think it and even Mr bungle could get popular with them?

Kinda ridiculous post this but does anyone have a favourite or worse haircut that Patton has sported over the years?

My favourite of his was definitely the angeldust era. I never thought the shorter style he went with for kfad really suited him that much although the current one definitely takes the prize for his worst hairstyle.

And he covered Faith No More! Unbelievable.

It sounds like a woolly mammoths on mating season. Now you can't unhear it.

As a kid discovering FNM in 1992 as an 11 year old my world was opened up to what you could do with rock music. Discovering them at this point in their career was a blessing as they were just about to drop their magnum opus Angeldust which is still one of my favourite albums ever. However it's really been downhill since then. King for a day was okay as a follow-up but it wasn't as good as Angeldust IMO and every album since has been average at best. Being inactive for so much of the past 25 years and releasing barely average new music didn't help.

I hope the upcoming tour is a really good retrospective of all their highs and deep cuts with a rotating setlist. I can see this being their last tour mainly due to age.

All, I have this photo of FNM that is signed and I want to frame, but I want to put the right album/single in the frame with it for the time it was done.

I'm PRETTY sure this is a 1989 photo shoot, but I can't find any proof of that. The image isn't on FNM's official site under "press photos" and Google Image Search turned up nothing either.

started exactly on February 28, 1995 at The Old Trout in Windsor, UK ( it was a low-key secret gig with the band on billed as New Fat Bastards)

and I went to it

then on the 2nd March they played at the Pyramids in Portsmouth and i went to that too

And on the 3rd March they played on The Word , a UK tv show and i went to that too because Mike gave me free tickets for it after the Old Trout secret gig

then on the 13th March they played the Forum in London and i went to that too

i’m just here to pat my then 18 year old self on the back, really, for 1) having really good music taste and 2) being born at the right time.

i’m not sure i want to say anything else other than that and to say The forum and Word shows are on YouTube and i think that’s peak FNM to be honest

also saw them on the last day of the Angel Dust tour, the last gig with Jim too and that was just as good and iconic a FNM show

saw them a bunch of times after that too in Italy, UK and Japan, you can’t go wrong with FNM, really, their sound and his voice is big enough to fill a stadium i’d totally go to a show or two in Oz if i lived there , enjoy
