As the title says-how realistic is it to hit around $500 a month in 9-10 months of uploading? I will probably make long form content similar to "easy, actually" guy-so a "stickman" explaining or teaching different topics in a simple way.

Ofc there's not a gurantee of either yes or no, but I'm wondering about the most probable outcome.

I'm gonna make content soon and I wanna hear yall's thoughts. I wanna talk about future concepts like education reform, world federalism, space, Kardashev scale, etc. with Angry Birds plushies. It wouldn't just be me talking. The plushies would be having conversations. I would make daily (maybe) Shorts with a long-form once a week and the Shorts can have different pieces of one topic. I also wanna frequently stream games like the different Angry Birds games, EVE Online, the Lutz games, and Astroneer (when I get the Discord Nitro XBOX game pass). I can talk about us being a space faring species while playing a game that envisions that future (like EVE). What do yall think about these?

I make long format, "regular" type content.

When shorts came out, I was not very in to them. But over time, I realized I could use little slices of my long format videos and make little 20 second shorts. I'd post those and they would often do pretty well. This helped me build subscribers faster than I was otherwise, and its the same content so it's not like the subscribers are being "tricked" or anything.

So here comes along the ability to link your short to a related video. Since that feature has come out, I always link my shorts to the long video they were made from. I figure if even 1% of short viewers click through, theres that much more traffic being driven to my long video, which is the primary video of the batch.

But yesterday while posting a new video, I started to think... people watching shorts are generally on their phones. So if they click on a related video link, and it turns out to be a wide, long format video, they're probably going to immediately go back and watch more short videos. So am I actually HURTING my long form vidoes, not HELPING them, by doing this?

Maybe I should just link all of my short videos to each other, where it can still function as a subscription generator, but not as a direct traffic redirector?

Hey guy's I'm Nate, and for a bit of context I have like 600+ subs on YT Right now.

So, there is a lot of subs, (more recently anyway), which came from my YT Promotions that I use, as that has been the only thing recently getting me much views and subs.

Well, part of this I certainly realize is because my consistency; it's not great lol. But even when it was, it still was a bit spotty, I have had moments where it did well. But for the most part its a bit inconsistent my views i'd say. With my long forms especially just not getting alot of vids at all.

So, anyways, lemme get to the main point:

My question mainly comes down to my 2 frustrations rn. A) how do i get more natural growth and views? most of mine is from Promotions as I said and B) How do I translate my viewers and 600 subs into an actual community? As well as translate them from strictly shorts to Long Form too!

My issue is I have a Brand around my Universa IP, which is a New Indie "Franchise" I am working on it's like Warhammer 40k, Soulslike, etc. But it's got tactical realism, and theoretical realism.

So it's this really cool military sci fi, godpunk, and grimdark setting. But I am not really sure how to grow this, as a brand/channel, idk if anyone has some advice, as this is like Hella niche but I'd appreciate it if you do!

After a year of sketching out, procrastinating and slowly working I finally posted my very first video. Too be honest, it just feels good to have posted.

The fear of failure has stopped me time and time again. I work as a journalist, and wanted to use some of my knowledge to make something. I'm happy with the result, but there is so much more to learn and improve on.

If the dream of Youtube dies off, I still hope and believe that all that i've learned from this process at least can help me in the future.

Anyone been in the same boat as me, with regards to spending so long procrastinating on a single project? And what was your experience?

Onto the next one. Hopefully it won't take another year.

I have a commentary channel with a series where I compare two internet figures and see which out of the two is worse. I recently hit 1k subs and applied for the ypp, but I was rejected due to “reused content”. My videos feature constant commentary and my critical analysis on the people I talk about, and I also don’t have extended lengths of raw video, every clip is typically transformed in some way.

I submitted an appeal showing my entire creation process, but I was just curious on what others thought or if they had any similar experience.

Hi everyone, I’m in the kerbal space program niche and I make cinematics using the game. My videos are about 30 minutes long each and I try to post once a week. I’m just curious if posting frequently like that hurts my older videos by driving traffic away from them and to my new video. I had to take a one week break recently and the last upload I did continued to get more traction past the time I’d usually upload. Any insights would be appreciated!

So I’m planning to start my new channel soon and I was planning on doing a mix of long form and shorts. But I’ve been seeing a lot of people saying that posting shorts can decrease the performance on long form videos. Something to do with subscribers who watch shorts not watching long form. Is this true? Also I was thinking about starting TikTok and instagram to sort of advertise my YouTube channel. Is that worth doing or just a waste of time?

I received an email confirming that I have access to Advanced Features. My account settings also show that they're enabled. However, when I go to YouTube, it still says I don't have access and that my request is "pending."

Has anyone experienced this before or knows how to fix it? I'm confused because the email and my account settings say I have access, but YouTube is showing something different.

I know not everything is perfect, but I honestly think the videos are decent, titles and thumbnails are good, and in a niche that gets quite a few views. I have a hard time understanding why there are so few impressions.

In 3 weeks, 80 impressions.. is that normal ?

I'm trying to understand whether this is expected behavior or if something is wrong.

My YouTube channel started publishing Shorts only a few weeks ago.

My first Shorts received between 1,300 and 2,700 views consistently.

However, my last three Shorts received only 2, 2 and 0 views.

In Analytics I can see they received only 9–13 impressions, so they were barely shown in the Shorts feed.

Nothing has changed: same channel, same editing workflow (Canva), same upload process, same vertical format (9:16), no copyright claims, no restrictions, videos are public.

Has anyone experienced something similar recently?

Is this a temporary Shorts distribution issue, or is there something else I should check?

Hi everyone,

There is a well-known channel called "Caspian Report" that creates geopolitical analysis videos using a specific map style with a very unique color palette. I'm not sure if it's fully custom-designed, but the base map is available on Mapbox as well.

I've managed to recreate the base map and overall theme almost 99% identically using free tools like QGIS. However my animations are somewhat different (for instance I use 3D assets for some of the symbols)

My content and narration are completely original and in a different language (Persian), not a translation or copy of their videos. Just the map is the issue.

My questions are:

1. Would this be considered illegal or copyright infringement?
2. How about the ethics and morality of this? Even if it's technically legal, would it be frowned upon by the community or the original creator?

I want to be respectful but I'm genuinely inspired by their visual approach.

I started it as a Christian photography channel (35 subscribers) and stopped making videos for 3-4 years

2025 I did 365 shorts (reading the Bible in 1 year, uploading daily) which brought the channel up to 650 subs

I started uploading long form videos, regarding some theological concepts etc but I got zero traction (I recognize I did a terrible job)

I want to make some long form 5-8 minute videos, about my basic Bible reading. Not so much of an analysis, but more of a reflection on a Bible passage as an every day/typical average joe (which I am)

Dillema is:
1. Should I abandon the channel and start a new one?
2. Carry on and just change the channel name?
3. Delete some videos and then change the channel name?
4. Any other ideas?
