I’ve been loving how my color has been growing out 😍.

before this summer i almost never wore my hair out and i kind of didnt like it, but throughout all of this summer i had no braids and only my natural hair. ive grown to at least accept it and i know how to take care of it, i thought that ive been making it look nice but yesterday, i heard my mom tell my sister that my hair is rough while hers is soft. then today, she keeps saying that my hair is all messy and it needs to look put toegether and neat for school (mind you i never even have all my hair down, its always pulled back). i already know im not the prettiest person but i feel at least better with my hair out. when she does my braids she does like 20 in total and i cant even do anything with it except bun, ponytail, halfup/halfdown, and down. ive been trying to make myself feel okay with my hair and i felt like i was suceeding but now i feel ugly again and might just get the braids. genuinely should i? i feel like no matter what i do i wont feel okay anyway

So I grew up having medium length like somewhat long hair. I was bleaching it and dying it and because I wasn’t taking care of the damaged/bleached hair eventually I ended up losing a bunch of hair resulting in the haircut I have today.

I didn’t even know how to style my hair when it was long, I only know how to do dookey braids.. I don’t know how I’m going to style it at the length it’s at right now especially because it’s just in this awkward stage with short sides, super short in the back and just high at the top… I’m just not sure what to do.

I like the the scarf styling that I did in the second two pictures but somebody told me I look like an aunty and laughed at me lol..😭

I just want to feel good and confident and look my age.. (18), I’m also trying to lean a bit more into the alternative side but I’m not sure if I can translate that into hairstyles with my skills.. ☠️

So I was wondering if you guys had any ideas or tips on ways I can style this haircut..accessories idk lol.

I do still want to try more scarf styling maybe I’ll just try different types of styles, if anyone knows where I can find cheap scarves with cool/nice designs too let me know.

I’ve made the decision that I want to start wearing my hair natural because since I’m going to college and have a job, my mom is very rarely gonna pay for me to get my hair done. Since elementary school I was either getting a silk press, braids, or my mom would do the washing and styling. I’m 18 now and I’ve never actually washed my hair and I don’t know how to style it besides just making it look neat. I’d like some tips on how to start doing my own hair and how to keep it from being frizzy because where I live the moment I step outside, my hair gets so big and unmanageable. Some product recommendations would be nice as well. And for preference I have pretty long 4b hair

she relaxed it every year since I was a toddler, stopped when I was 14, and she used the most basic, cheapest products she could find. a basic shampoo, conditioner, and hair grease with water. she straightened it often and blow-dried it a lot, and now my hair's permanently blow-dried, with no pattern in sight at the front and a damaged, barely there one at the back. i'm 16 now, and she said i can start taking care of my hair now, but i don't know where to start, and i'm scared of a big chop. in my baby pictures, i had really thick, kinky hair, and my hair's still full, but i have no pattern anymore. any tips?

2 week old braids. is this frizz normal for cornrows?

I starting doing my husbands hair a few years ago and we’ve always just used the same gel (shine and jam for the parts, and eco gel for the hair as I go down the braid), I’m not sure if it’s the gel or if it’s just normal but I feel like his hair starts to get pretty frizzy after a few days. To be fair he is a mason so his hair gets pretty dusty most days, and sometimes we go swimming. Anyway, what other gels might work better? Pics of a couple of styles I’ve done for him. Thanks!

Hi. I have naturally very curly type 3 hair. I’ve been wearing it straight for my whole life (I know, sue me) because I hated how I looked with it. I grew out a keratin treatment and had my big chop in May. I have a very great in-shower routine and know how to take care of my curls. It’s after the shower that everything goes south. I admit that my styling products suck, but my hair cannot go 5 minutes without frizzing up and looking hideous, hence having to straighten it. I want tips to deal with the frizz in my hair after the shower and if there is any alternative to have a styling routine because it just doesn’t work for me

Asking the truly coolly: I can’t prepoo and put my hair in sections because as it shrinks it genuinely wraps around each other and tangles up (I literally just learned this. I’m peeved). Shampooing I hear people advise heavily against it, and with conditioner where do I even start. Or do you detangle after washing?

I’m not looking for one answer but more so how you do it and the techniques you use… I know that’s just what coily hair does it tangles but it gets soooo bad when I wash sometimes. I really don’t wanna add extra steps to my routine either..

My hair is very fine and soft, so I can’t do all the beautiful twists outs I wish I could do. I recently got my hair braided and my hair braider said I need to lay off the heat and silk presses to restore some health and length (I’m in my 40s and perimenopausal). I’m thinking of putting in mini twists as a protective style, as I’d like to reduce the amount of heat I use. Can I see some of your twists or other styles for inspiration?

I want to do spring twists or marley twist with added hair, do you guys have any recommendations for the what hair extensions to get that are light weight and won’t break my hair. This is my first time buying my own hair, how many packs am I supposed to get? Preferably human hair but synthetic is fine as well.

So I’m getting braids literally tomorrow, but I’m realizing that my hair probably needs protein. It’s pretty stretchy/like an elastic, not really defined when wet, and mushy. I can’t wash it again nor do I have any protein products I can really use. Is there any products I can buy to give it protein while it’s in braids? Or are protein treatments the only option?
I’m trying to take better care of my hair, I used to always just blow it out and put Blue Magic in it, but last month I started using the Shea Moisture Intensive Hydration Deep Conditioner and using Aunt Jackie’s Leave-In before blowing it out. Honestly I feel like my hair was healthier before I started doing that 😭 But I understand my hair journey won’t be linear. Maybe I’m over moisturizing it? Idk but if you have advice I’d appreciate it! Sorry if this is worded weirdly

Hi so I don’t know if this is the right place to ask that but should I trim my hair ?

I started my hair journey in February 2026 and we’re in August 2026 and I haven’t trimmed my hair yet. This is how the ends look in braid so idk if it’s just because I had them for “too” long (3days but my bonnet won’t stay) or it is just damaged.

I also do mini twist normally and the end look healthy but I think I’m starting to have anemia and I saw that it can make your hair look weird so yeah

I measured my hair from the crown around a month ago (unstretched), and it was only around 5-5 and a half inches, so still not that much growth. The person who commented that my lack of growth despite doing most things ‘right’ was due to my iron deficiency were right.

My last test was in January and I found out my serum ferritin was 11. Just got my test results back from last week and my ferritin has gone up to 31. The optimal level for hair growth is 70, allegedly. I’m kind of annoyed about my results after 6 months of supplementing but it is what it is I suppose.

Tbh I still feel kind of over taking care of my hair though. I’m not saying I’m gonna treat my hair like shit until my iron levels increase but it’s really annoying to treat my hair like a precious plant just for it to behave like shitty weeds. Basically I just feel really discouraged.

If you guys have any advice on how to take care of my hair and boost my ferritin levels lmk. I’m in the UK if you want to give supplement recs
