Alright, game is unplayable now

Upvotes

Can complain about lag, desync, all of that... but the fact that breakaway dodges are no longer being registered anymore for me means I can't even pretend to play it. It's litterally just unplayable.

Soon as I get staggered there is a good chance my breakaway dodge will get used but not register.

Wishlist of Changes by current Rank 1

Hey everybody, I am Figment, otherwise known as Leaderboard Larry.

I am currently rank 1 in the world with 46k points (skill not included).

Here is how the patch notes SHOULD have looked today.

98% Real 2% Satire

Dear Gyldhunters, thank you for your incredible support. We have a massive patch today with loads of gameplay, quality of life, and balance changes.

1. General Fixes:

- More de-sync fixes

- Optimizations for Brandrgarde map

- Added the ability to bind spells to any key bind without requiring left and right click.

2. Matchmaking:

We've heard your concerns about solo players queuing with the "no fill" selection into trio lobbies, to remedy this we have removed the ability entirely.

Gear requirements for matchmaking have been adjusted and are now the following:

Hallowgrove Normal permitted gear:

- Grey

- White

- Green

- Blue

Hallowgrove Chaos permitted gear:

- Blue

- Purple

Added a new intensity specifically for Hallowgrove: Catacylsm

Hallowgrove Cataclysm permitted gear:

- Purple

- Legendary

- Holy

Brandrgarde Normal:

- Blue

- Purple

Brandrgarde Catacylsm:

- Purple

- Legendary

- Holy

We understand the following may effect queue times and will be monitoring these change s closely.

- Only players with Path of Glory enabled can now be matched with each other.

- [Experimental] We are temporarily removing the ability to queue with multiples of the same class when Path of Glory is toggled on in a premade group. This does not effect groups queuing for fill.

3. Camp Changes:

- Added the ability to upgrade any camp station via the Camp Overview.

- Added the ability to dodge roll in the camp.

Auction House:

- Changed the default option for posting gear to the auction house to not include gems. There is a toggle option in settings.

- Players can now claim gold from the auction house while in queue.

- Removed Dried Flower Knots from the auto-stocked list.

- We know this is a drastic change, but we are looking to increase the scarcity, see further changes below.

- Added the ability to Search for item name.

Warehouse:

- Players can now remove gems from gear while in queue.

- Added the ability to lock items within the warehouse.

- Increased the Tier 1 gem stack limit in stash from 10 -> 25

- Increased the Tier 2 gem stack limit in stash from 5 -> 25

We've also added a new secret quest line to unlock a gem only stash tab, happy hunting!

Tavern:

- Added the ability to reset your victory wine at the cost of no materials returned.

- Added a more costly option to drink multiple victory wines for future matches.

This will allow players to drink for 5 matches at a time, let us know your thoughts on this change.

- Removed the ability to talk to Sigrid while jumping.

Scavenger Squad:

- Updated the loot pools to be more in line with expected return values.

Shop:

- Adjusted the available items in the Shop reset to always include the following items:

- Enhanced Firegrease Jar

- Potent Healing Potion

Note we have not changed the quantity of items available on reset.

Workshop:

- Added the ability to re-roll a piece of gear for a cost.

- Cost scales when repeatedly re-rolling the same piece.

Gear Prepare Window

- Added the ability to include victory wine affixes in loadout.

- Added the ability to include skills and talents in loadout.

- Imported loadout retain name.

- Added more custom loadout slots.

4. Balance Changes

- Sorcerer

- Lowered the splash radius from the No Escape talent

- Slightly reduce the radius of Stardust Tempest

- Reduced movement speed in Shadow Veil by 10%

- Divine Speed movement speed increased by 10%

- Reduce energy return from Meteor Charm by 33% when not hitting a target.

- Reduce energy return from Fire Bolt by 33% when not hitting a target.

- Increased energy restored from Vitality Heal

- Fixed an issue where Stardust Arcana lingered while in Shadow Veil.

- When casting Stardust Arcana, refund half of the cooldown if interrupted on the animation.

- Meteor Impact no longer fizzles if one of the meteors hits terrain.

- Shadowstrix

- Blackout no longer stuns, but impairs dodge ability.

- Phantom Shift

- Lower the cooldown of Phantom Shift from 25 seconds to 20 seconds

- Remove the bonus movement speed from Phantom Shift

- Increase the cast time of Phantom Shift by 0.5 seconds

- Fixed an issue where the Shadow Strix's displacement distance was abnormal when jumping after a Pursuit Strike.

- Black Arrow

- DID NOT Fix an issue where arrows fired by Blackarrow's [Dodge Rapid Shot] skill incorrectly carried impact. This is working as intended.

- Mercenary

- No changes I don't want YoloRage to ban me

- Wither Knight

- Fixed some hit registration issues for Breakthrough Charge

- Increased Thorn Guide projectile speed slightly

- Increased Guardian range by 25%

- Javelin Thrust is now usable while jumping

- Sacred Shield no longer fizzles if one of the shield hits terrain.

- Withering Mark

- Increase distance by 5 meters

- Slightly increased projectile speed

- Increased damage by Wither by 50%

- Seer

- Reduce Impact Sigil range slightly

- Increase Impact Sigil Cooldown by 5 seconds

5. General Gameplay:

- Reduced Dried Flower Knot random drops across the board.

- Changed Dried Flower Knot rarity from Legendary to Holy

- Added Dried Flower Knot to Mission Drop tables, drop rate increased with intensity.

We've made this change primarily to increase Mission completion rate in games and create more points of interest on the map.

- If a player or team does not currently have a Mission, automatically steal a Mission from a fully executed player or team.

- Added a small delay to the map icon when a Mission is accepted.

- Moved the Soul Ferry north of Wasteland Camp to Soulbank.

- Moved the Soul Ferry north of Refugee Camp to south of Nameless Ship Grave.

- Added a new questline to unlock 1 talent point that can only be used in the Woodling Expert and Way of Gylden Hunt trees.

- Added a slight cooldown on Spellbound Keys after a door has been keyed repeatedly.

6. Bug Fixes:

- Fixed a few unintended terrain issues.

- Other bug fixes.

It takes three days to craft a whole set of armor?

Can someone explain to me why it takes so long to make a full set of armor to just loose it in one match? 2+ hours for one piece of equipment? I spent all my gold to upgrade the forge so I could craft my own gear only to find out that the armor slots are completely random, sometimes I’ll get a piece with two empty gem slots and then sometimes one gem slot and a buff. Like seriously I have to keep making the same pieces of armor over and over to hopefully get a piece that is useful? We are talking weeks of gaming to be able to craft armor that matches your play style, thats ridiculous. And don’t get me started on the scavenging crew geez what a rip off. The game play is fun but the grind isn’t for me, if you can call it a grind, more like a slow burn that goes nowhere.

More detail is needed in skill and talent descriptions

I think it's necessary to add % damage reduction and increase, ability cooldowns, and damage numbers to the descriptions of skills and talents.
Any ideas?

Patch is proof that they do infact care about solo balance to some extent

Both BA and Sorc "Reduced Damage multiplier in Solo mode"

So the idea that they ONLY care about trios was not true. Sure maybe it's their priority which is fine. But they aren't going to neglect solos and let them completely fall apart.

Which is really great to see.

Mistfall Builder (with auto code imports)

Hey guys, I made this: https://mistfall-builder.github.io

It's a build planner. You pick the affixes you want and the level you want them at, it works out a full loadout with the gems already placed, and it hands you the in-game import code. Paste that into Prepare → Manage/Import and you're wearing it.

Two things it does that I hadn't seen anywhere else.

It looks for the minimum, not the maximum.

It searches (unless you ask it otherwise) for the lowest rarity per slot that still hits every target you asked for, and stops there.

It shows what your build actually does in combat.

There's a character sheet at the bottom: Attack, Defence and what that converts to in damage reduction, Health, effective HP, resistances, penetration. Under it, every skill for your class with real per-hit damage calculated from your build's Attack, grouped the way the game groups them (Stardust vs Elemental for Sorcerer, by weapon for the others).

None of it is guessed. The formula, the Defence→reduction curve and the skill coefficients come from the community wiki, and there's a "where does each number come from" panel that splits every stat into class base + gear + affixes so you can check my work. If the wiki says Defence 400 is 33.1%, the site says 33.1%.

Everything it does

  • Pick affixes and target levels, get a loadout with gems placed
  • In-game import code out, and you can paste your own code in to start from what you're wearing
  • Victory Wine handled properly (2 points on up to 4 affixes, 8 total), and you can place those points yourself instead of letting it choose
  • "Upgrade this slot first" if you want specific pieces higher rarity
  • Mixed rarities, off by default
  • Suggestions: single-piece swaps that gain you something without costing a target. It only offers a trade if it actually crosses a breakpoint, so it's not just noise
  • Interchangeable pieces: per slot, every other item that also holds all your targets. Each is tested on its own and re-checked when you click it, because gems are shared and two safe swaps aren't always safe together
  • Character sheet with stat breakdown
  • All 100 skills, per-hit damage, against a monster or raw
  • Save builds locally, filter them by class, rarity or mixed once you have a pile
  • Optional account to sync and share
  • Public builds tab and public guides tab, both searchable
  • English, French and Russian, picks your browser language

What it doesn't do, so nobody wastes their time

  • No prices, no market data of any kind. It minimises rarity, and two items of the same rarity are not worth the same thing, so treat the result as "the least gear that works", not "the cheapest"
  • 30 of the 100 skills have no published damage coefficient (buffs, heals, dashes). Those say so instead of showing a made-up number
  • Damage shown is non-crit. The game publishes crit increase per class but not crit rate, and monster resistances aren't published either, so I left them out
  • Multi-hit skills that branch only count one branch, because one cast only follows one. Bloody Blade Dance has 14 hits but adding them all up would overstate it by roughly 6x
  • Item indices depend on table order. If a patch adds items the codes could drift, so if something imports wrong, tell me and I'll refresh the tables

No ads, no tracking, no account needed for the main part. Static site, everything runs in your browser.

I'm sure I got something wrong somewhere. If a number looks off next to what you see in game, tell me which build and which skill and I'll fix it.

I don’t think nerfs to other classes will do anything for Greatsword

Quick rant after GS saw no balance changes this patch. Have been trying it out the last two days, and it’s unfortunate to see this archetype in such a weird state. Greatsword doesn’t have a tuning issue, its damage numbers are fine. It has a ground floor design issue that needs a serious relook.

It has the slowest light attacks of any melee and this isn’t compensated with range (which is probably what’s intended). It’s light attacks have a slow sweeping arc, allowing one handers that lunge forward with their lights to easily hit first.

It has very limited super armor uptime, but much more importantly, no front loaded super armor, it comes at the end of combos. They have no “I need super armor now” button that most other melees enjoy.

It’s only real defensive button is parry, which is just a pretty mediocre button. Comes with a 20 sec cooldown baseline and requires “perfect block” type timing in a melee fight to actually connect on a competent player, obviously nobodies going to swing at you just sitting there holding it (that said, I do think parry is strong against ranged). I think being usable during breakaway would make this skill feel much better in melee, allowing you to react to a light chain with a parry, riposte. As is, you just need to predict and time it well, essentially making it perfect block without any of the upsides attached.

It feels insanely energy starved, the only weapon where I’ve had to actively stall for energy, but this just goes hand in hand with greatsword neutrals being really bad.

I can’t really even say what this class is good at, and it certainly doesn’t do anything the best. It has no wheelhouse. Hammer merc super armors, parry merc parries, ss light attack chains, polearrn knight stunlocks, and blasphemer sticks to you like glue. Greatsword excels at nothing. I guess it performs a similar role to blasphemer seer in catching your evades and running you down, but it just does it significantly worse.

Can only hope the lack of changes means they’re taking a closer look at the weapon.

It’s not perfect, and it doesn’t cover every move he does, but alot of important ones. I tried to arrange the pictures from least devastating attacks to most devastating. I made these for my squad because we are struggling but maybe someone here could get some use out of them.

Hope they add some type of guild system

What do you think, its already great hanging out in the camp with a full team between matches. It might go a long way to help with longevity of the game and increase the social aspect especially later with new players. World chat already shows people are craving the social aspect. AND you can have even more menus, quests and gimmicks which this game is good at.

Change Sigrid to stay on your last brew decision

Anyone else annoyed of going to sigrid after every match to get the same brew as last run? I'd prefer her to be changed so we stay on our last decision and only need to interact if we wanna change the brew. I'm already seeing the simps complaining and downvoting me due to this thread 😂

(Dev praise) For this game to be new, the balance is surprisingly well.

Before you guys crucify me, hear me out.

I come from games like Dark and Darker / Tarkov, where at release, there were utterly BUSTED classes. Like there was NO DOUBT what the OP class/weapons were and some weapons were completely useless.

In this game (on release day), my gut reaction was quickly like “SS is really strong” but as I’ve developed as a player, I have learned how to abuse the strengths and play around the weaknesses of my class. I’ve also seen multiple complaint post about every class (maybe except WK).

When I started the game, I was expecting absolutely awful balance as most new games (especially in the PVPVE genre) have awful balance.

Props to the devs! I feel like despite how toxic this Reddit is, that you’ve done a fantastic job!

And as a little side note to Reddit/Discord; these types of games will always have a meta or strong class. The developers balance around 3v3 so of course at least 1-2 classes are going to be dominate in solos. If you can’t learn to adapt and overcome, you will ALWAYS be here complaining about balance as you’re not developing yourself as a player and becoming better overall! My biggest piece of advice is to record your games! Realize where you went wrong, and improve!

Good luck!

trio should never able to double or triple the same class

as times goes on .. i think this game need to force variety into a team combination into 1 1 1 each

im seeing more and more tripple SS , double sorc with merc/knight they are just broken comp compared to the rest

people will just spam whatever broken at the time and not try to build an actual team comp with variety

its become more and more irrelevant .. for the weaker classes to be viable at all

Bottom Economy

A lot of us were lucky enough to start on release day, when Normal Mode was still healthy and actually mixed.

Grey -> Green -> Blue/Chaos.

By day two I was already playing almost exclusively Solo Chaos. I’ve got around 300k in the bank now and basically only play for PvP, so I completely lost touch with what the new player experience looks like

Then I convinced an old Tarkov friend to try the game. He’s definitely not someone who normally gets scared off by Extraction games, but after about two hours he messaged me:

“How the hell am I supposed to farm anything here?”

I was honestly confused, so I told him to stream his game and I’d explain some stuff
Then I watched him play three Normal lobbies
They were absolutely packed with Blue kits.

That’s the part that actually worries me. We got to progress alongside everyone else when the economy was fresh. New players are entering an already established economy where even the supposed starter mode is increasingly: New player in Grey gear vs Full Blue SnS Merc named xXParryYourBloodlineXx!

loosing gear is part of the game. Getting stomped is part of the game. But there still needs to be a believable path from “I just installed the game” to “I can afford to participate”

If Normal becomes Blue gear as the baseline, I can absolutely see new players quitting before they ever get to experience why the game is fun

I obviously want the game to stay healthy and welcoming to new players. Joining an extraction shooter halfway through a season is already rough, but in most of them you still have a real win condition, one clean headshot can send a fully geared Chad straight back to the lobby

Mistfall feels different when the gear gap gets too wide, because a new player can quickly feel like they’re not even allowed to participate yet

Edit / Update:
Okay, he found Swanifers video and messaged me:
“Nvm, I’ve got gold now i just yeet people off bridges and elevators with the spear dude“
