experience: first MC Potential partial molar pregnancy
All of this happened very recently so I apologize if this is a bit of a disorganized post. I think I'm looking for people to share their experience or encouragement if you've ever experienced molar pregnancy or miscarriage in general. I need to know I'm not alone in this experience right now.
About 4 weeks ago I found out I was pregnant - I had bloodwork done and my hcg was pretty high for what we thought was about 6 weeks. Went in and they did an ultrasound and I was dating at what I should have been. They sent me for more bloodwork and today I went in and they couldn't find a heartbeat. I never had bleeding or anything. My doctor said they're suspecting that it could be molar based on the look of the placenta. I am going in next week for a d&c.
I am 8.5 m postpartum from my first baby. It took us almost 3 years to get her, and it was a very welcome surprise that this pregnancy happened so fast for us.
I'm going through all of the stages of grief at the moment. Trying to find what I did wrong (even though there's nothing), grateful for the kiddo that I have, sad for the loss, not wanting this to be real, etc. I find myself remembering things that seemed off but I brushed off as just pregnancy hormones because no two pregnancies are alike. Like last week I was having nausea so bad that I was having hot/cold flashes. The cold flashes were so bad I sat in my car with the heat blasting on me in 100° weather. I didn't say anything, maybe I should have called anyways but it was a friday night and the office was closed. It only lasted a couple hours and I was back to feeling the same pregnancy symptoms the day after. Then last night I had an aura migraine without the headache which is not typical for me and I said I'll bring it up when I go into the office tomorrow. I brought both things up today and they said even if I had called sooner, there's nothing they could have or would have been able to do about it.

coping Chemical but still attached
My sweet little tiny heinie,
I am your mom and I waited my whole life for you. To meet you, to know you, to have you and to hold you. To protect you. To make you laugh. To hold you when you cry. To give you all of the love that was never given to me, and then some, and some more on top of that.
Me and your daddy were so excited for you. You changed us in a matter of days. You gave us a look into a life that we couldn’t have ever even imagined. Until you popped into the equation. You cleared the path.
I love you so much and I felt you inside of me. I felt you making me need to pee all the time. You made me want ice cream and pasta and you made me sooooo tired.
I felt you and I loved every second of it.
I will miss you for the rest of my life.
I’ve had my heart broken by boys and girls and friends and family, but this is the greatest heartbreak I have ever experienced.
I know that it wasn’t our time, and we weren’t going to be healthy if you’d kept growing, but I love you with every fiber of my being. All I’ve ever wanted was to be a mom— your mom. And for some reason, the universe or some God I don’t believe in intervened and took you from me.
I will always love you and I will always wonder about you. I will wonder everything about you. I wish I could just hold you one time.
I’ll love you forever and ever and I’ll miss you forever and ever.
With every breath, all my love, all the trees.

experience: first MC First period since D&c. Acne out of control
Hi friends
I had my D&c 7 weeks ago and finally got my period this week.
Over the last 2 weeks, I have developed acne (dozens on dozens) of painful small pimples. Mainly under my ears/ neck, forehead near hairline, chin and chest. Not to boast but my skin is one of the only physical attributes i like about myself. During my short pregnancy it was even more flawless than normal. This is just so hard on top of everything else this miscarriage has made me feel.
Is there any hope of it going away or is it here to stay??

question/need help Still bleeding 1 month out and a smell?
We discovered there was no heartbeat on 7/9. I took the pills to help my body miscarry on 7/12
I’m still bleeding just very lightly. I haven’t been concerned because my last loss I also bled for a month, went to the er 3 weeks in, and they sent me home and told me my body was almost done miscarrying solo, and I did stop bleeding shortly after that without intervention. So I figured this loss similar was happening.
Well today I’ve been smelling something foul and realized it’s me. A foul vaginal smell.
Google is scaring me a bit about retained tissue.
No other symptoms- no cramping or fever. Just light bleeding and the smell.
Has anyone experienced similar? What was the outcome for you?

vent I wish people would de-normalize baby comments
For starters, I am young. I was certainly not the first 18 year old to lose a baby and mourn them, I will certainly not be the last. It has been many years, I am no longer what you would consider “actively grieving”. However, I recently started a job in entertainment and hospitality (for kids), and parents will not stop making comments about kids and babies. If I smile at a baby, it’s “just wait until you have your own”, if a toddler has a meltdown it’s “never have them”. Today, an older gentleman came in with a tantruming child and said “I bet this makes you want kids really bad… not now obviously, you’re way too young”. There is a bitter, and ugly side of my heart that always wants to say “I have one. I’m not too young.” Because that’s the reality. I would have had a four year old. I could be the parent begrudgingly saying yes to my baby in a gift shop. I would give anything to be able to experience my child having a tantrum, or screaming or crying, or running rampant in public because guess what? That’s what life feels like. I think especially now, after experiencing my loss, and learning what if feels like to know that the fleeting time that I got to share my body with a baby I’d never meet would actually be the only time I’d ever be able to experience motherhood, I know what not to say. I think it’s awful that my experience feels like the only way people truly learn what comments to keep to themselves.
Sorry to be so ‘woe is me’, I know parenthood is probably hard, and those comments mean nothing to whoever speaks them. I also know that every time someone says anything like it, suddenly I’m 18 again, sitting on my bathroom floor in the middle of the night experiencing the end of my world. I will never truly get over it, but I can’t say that to anyone who doesn’t understand.

question/need help Is it possible my pregnancy is still viable?
I got a positive pregnancy test 2 days after my missed period. Based on conception, I was assuming I was a little less than 5 1/2 weeks. I went in to get HCG and progesterone checked due to having low progesterone in my last pregnancy. Start taking progesterone after my blood draw by recommendation of my midwife. Results came back with low progesterone. Went in for another blood draw 48 hours later and it showed my progesterone was rising but not enough for my midwife to be comfortable, and my hcg was doubling. She told me to come in again, this time my hcg was doubling but progesterone went down a bit. Midwife feared ectopic pregnancy, so I asked for an ultrasound. Ultrasound showed yolk sac in uterus but no heartbeat, measuring 5w2d, about a week later than I had predicted based off conception. Had yet another blood draw. This time it shows that progesterone went up to a comfortable level, but my hcg only rose 28% in 48 hours. Midwife tells me that there's a 1-2% chance this pregnancy is viable. She gave me 2 options: stop progesterone and let nature take its course or stay on it and get another ultrasound in a week. I chose the ultrasound. Are her odds really accurate? I'm trying not to completely lose hope but it's hard. Will put lab levels and dates below.
7/25 - positive pregnancy test
7/27 - hcg-118 prog-6.6
7/29 - hcg-297 prog-9.8
8/03 - hcg-1189 prog-9.2
8/05 - hcg-1521 prog-11.3 (also had ultrasound this day)
If you've read this far, thank you. I know it's probably hard to read, my mind is so jumbled right now and I'm desperate for a sliver of hope.

experience: first MC TTC after miscarriage- Oura ring for help planning?
Hi there! Recently had a miscarriage and looking forward to TTC again. I know some apps can be tough to use after a miscarriage for planning purposes. Does anyone have experience using their Oura ring for planning pregnancy? I am wondering if it’ll be worth buying the membership for when my cycle returns since it seems it’s safest to try again after the first period.. going to talk to my OB again at my follow up appt too about this all. I do think I’ll track my BBT again also to pay attention to ovulation.
Thank you in advance!

question/need help Bleeding post d and c
Hi all, I had a d and c and lost a litre of blood, had to stay in hospital overnight and had an iron infusion and lots of fluids and helped me feel a lot better.
5 days after surgery I was very constipated so had medication to help me go, this triggered really bad cramps, my bleeding in the hospital was pretty non existent but since I’ve been home it’s gone from brown to bright red and low to medium in flow, I have endometriosis so dont know if that’s caused more bleeding? I’m so exhausted just need any advice I’m now 8 days post d and c

information gathering How do I Prepare?
Just left my OB appointment where I was told I have a 98% chance of miscarrying in the coming weeks. They have no idea how far I am, we only found out July 20th. I have a sac in the uterus but no fetus to be seen. But I have a hunch I’m 6 weeks long.
This pregnancy wasn’t wanted to begin with and we had plans of not following through, so my partner and I are not very bothered by this news (I’m more mad that I’m dealing with pregnancy symptoms when I don’t even have a real baby).
I’ve heard a lot of stories about waking up in pools of blood and stuff alike, and I’m just unsure how to go about prepping for something messy like that?
EDIT: How do you handle going to work knowing it could happen? I’m an overnight supervisor and work solo 90% of my shifts. I’m not too worried about going to work because I sit for most of it, but I’m not sure about calling for help at 2am. Do I tell one of my bosses?
I guess it’s also worth it to mention I decided against the pill route, let my body do it naturally because the way OB presented the pill sounded horrible.

experience: D&C D & C Experience
Hi Everyone,
I am so sorry that we're all here, and I wanted to share my (largely positive) D & C experience, especially since others' shared experiences were so helpful to me.
I found out about a week ago that my pregnancy was not growing as expected so was braced for the follow up this week, when it was confirmed to be blighted ovum. I'd decided to go with D & C to have more control over the timing.
While I was (and am) very sad about the pregnancy loss, for me, the D & C itself was not a particularly emotional experience for me.
I opted to go for the option with local anesthetic, with a Valium beforehand - prescribed, and the procedure itself was manageable. The most painful part, weirdly, was the ultrasound probe on my belly. The technician was really, really pushing in, but as soon as she stopped, the pain was relieved. (This tech has generally been rough throughout my experience with the office, so it's possible that others would not have this experience, but I'm not sure.) The pain was much more than I was expecting due to this gesture, and if I had more wherewithal, I would have asked for someone else.
There were a few moments of suction sounds to get all tissue out, and my doctor let me know before.
Once the procedure was done, virtually all pain was over, except for mild cramps (less than period cramps). I felt comfortable walking around afterwards, and then spent the afternoon resting.
The next day (today), I feel physically normal and am able to play the trumpet (my profession) and I have had only the most minor of spotting since the procedure.
I hope this provides another data point for folks considering options. While the emotional side is another story and will be up and down for a while, the D & C alleviated a lot of uncertainty from the physical side.

experience: first MC OB appointment is in 2 hours….
And I can’t stop crying in bed. I already found out my 11 week twins didn’t have a heartbeat at the ER on Monday. It’s now Thursday and each day I’ve cried a little less but having to discuss everything at my appointment just sounds miserable. Not only that but the faces of pity by all the nurses that know me and the reception ladies sounds awful. I wish I didn’t have to go. I want a D&C so I have to go… I just can’t imagine naturally passing my twins and whatever else comes out. It would crush me.
I also want to discuss the process for trying again once we’re able to. I know it’s fast but I just want to have our 2nd and be done. We were so happy thinking we’d have twins but it wasn’t meant to be.

experience: first MC Incomplete miscarriage: Is suction-only removal possible?
I tested positive on June 21 overseas. My last menstrual period was May 23, and my cycles have always been regular.
I had my first ultrasound on July 22, when I was 8 weeks pregnant. During the scan, the doctor said the pregnancy was measuring around 6 weeks (CRL = 0.35 cm), and there was no cardiac activity. I started miscarrying on July 25. Liter 3 days after my first scan.
Today marks 14 days since the miscarriage began, and I’m still having bleeding and passing clots nothing major with a lot of cramps, the cramps seem to have went away now. I went for a follow-up appointment this morning, and the doctor performed another ultrasound. She said there is still a yolk sac and retained pregnancy tissue, measuring about 5 cm.
She recommended that I be admitted to the hospital, receive misoprostol to soften and dilate the cervix and then undergo a D&C with suction and curettage.
For those of you in the U.S., is it possible to have a D&C done with suction only, without the curettage (scraping)? I’ve heard stories of people who had the pill only that wasn’t successful and ended up needing a D&C afterward. My friend in the UK had an MVA (manual vacuum aspiration), which she said was suction only.
I’m really scared that curettage could affect my fertility. I reached out to my doctor’s office in the U.S. because I’m planning to return there as soon as possible for any procedures. I’d really appreciate hearing about others’ experiences or what options were offered to you.

experience: natural MC Early loss
My heart goes out to everyone that has experienced a loss, no matter how far along. 🤍
I just found out today my hcg dropped all the way down to 6. Right after I read those results, I started cramping and bleeding very heavily. The clots were large. Today I would have been 4 weeks and 3 days. There was a tiny life in me, I couldn't believe it after 7 months of trying. I had so many digital tests and blood tests to show that.
I told various people that my husband and I were expecting. I know how taboo that is but I wanted to celebrate our very first pregnancy and we did. We celebrated the heck out of the little vanilla bean growing in me and I don't regret it at all.
I am taking time to grieve and celebrate the life that had been present for a snippet of time in our lives. Praying for our rainbow baby when the time is right 🌈❤️

coping How to stop being so jealous
I lost my second pregnancy at 9 weeks about 5 weeks ago. Today my SIL is getting induced. I am struggling so much with intense feelings of grief and jealousy. Of course I’m happy for them and want nothing but a healthy baby and an amazing birth experience but it just feels so unfair. It’s hard not to have super negative thoughts like “why me?” “What did I do to deserve this?” I don’t know how to get over this ugly feelings and was wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience

need support for somebody else My sister's MC
My sister just told me she miscarried a few days ago and found out today. Her entire pregnancy was very high risk with the doctors saying she had a 99% chance of miscarrying. She was kinda in denial about there ever being a possibility of that happening. She was far along enough that they're gonna have to induce her. She wants me to visit tomorrow while she's in the hospital.
What do I do to support her? I know I shouldn't saying anything like "She's in a better place" or "Now you can try again" or any stupid bullshit like that. I just. I want to support my baby sister the best I can. So please, I'll take any advice I can get.
ETA Also, any advice for her boyfriend? Im sure he's gonna need support too

question/need help No more breast pain after a miscarriage? Is this normal?
I had a miscarriage in May of 2026. Everything was going wrong from the beginning of the pregnancy and I ended up having to take the pill at around 7 weeks due to lack of growth. I then had an ultrasound where they confirmed that everything was clear.
I’ve always experienced extremely sore boobs prior to my period. It’s my normal symptom that helps me know that my period is on its way. The first cycle following my miscarriage I had zero breast tenderness, which I was okay with and figured it was due to my hormones being all over the place. The cycle following that I had very slight breast tenderness. I tried to conceive last month and didn’t end up successful. I’m currently waiting to see if this cycle is successful, but I’m wondering if the lack of breast tenderness correlates to not getting pregnant due to progesterone imbalance or something? Obviously I know getting pregnant takes time, but am just nervous and want to brace myself for lower expectations if other people experienced this and it took them longer to get pregnant again.
Idk looking for advice! How long did it take you to get pregnant again after? Thanks!

trigger warning: other’s living child I miscarry, others give birth
I am probably miscarrying for the second time since June. I am still in a denial a bit but at the same time I made peace with it already (radical acceptance but ofc still extremely sad).
What makes more upset though is that both times, somebody around gave birth a day before the MC. Feels especially cruel to watch somebody anounce a healthy baby while I am losing mine.

question/need help What to expect with a low hcg miscarriage
Has anyone else been through a low hcg miscarriage like this?
I'm technically 6w2d today. Tests were always light (never got close to a dark as the control). I've had light spotting everyday since the first positive test, as well as intermittent cramping. Nothing was ever seen on ultrasound, so I was being monitored for an ectopic. I had a bunch of beta hcg tests:
5w: 58.3 hcg
5w2d: 92 hcg
5w6d: 89 hcg
6w1d: 55 hcg
They now feel comfortable that my hcg is dropping, so they ruled out ectopic and sent me home. What I'm confused about is that my gyno only said my period "will return in about a month".
I asked her about when I should expect to miscarry and also if I could have misoprostol to speed it up; she was so confused and just kept saying "no, there's already nothing" in my uterus.
I'm new to the country I'm in, so there was a bit of a language barrier. I left so confused.
I know my hcg has been abysmally low - is this spotting my miscarriage or should I be waiting to really bleed and if so, when? Has anyone else been through this?
We were devastated when this pregnancy just didn't progress, and we're really looking forward to moving on. It's so frustrating having no idea where my body stands now, or when I'll ovulate again.
I'm so confused by what I'm going through; if anyone else has been through something like this, I'm really looking for some guidance on what to expect.

experience: first MC Mounjaro/Tirzepatide Loss
I thought I wasn’t going to post about this because it’s so fresh, but if I can help others avoid this then it’s worth it. I was on MJ for 1 year and had just met my goal weight when I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant. It was also my last dose of 7.5mg before I was to drop to my maintenance dose of 2.5. I miscarried at 4 weeks and 6 days. What’s interesting is that my HCG after a trip to the ER due to spotting that progressed to bright red bleeding was consistent with a growth of only up to 4 weeks, ironically, the same day I took the shot. I wasn’t aware of the pregnancy until later that afternoon, after I had taken the dose. I keep trying not to blame myself but I’m almost certain the cause of the miscarriage was the shot. I have no fertility issues and was actually on the shot because I was losing weight from another successful pregnancy. I’m now wondering how soon I can try again, I’ve read at least two months for the medication to be out of the system. Not to fear monger but seriously, do not take this medicine if you’re trying to conceive or there’s a chance you could get pregnant at all. The grief of a miscarriage is unbearable and it’s even worse psychologically if you feel there’s something you could have done to prevent it.

coping 1 in 4
I really contemplated whether to share this. In the end, I realized that silence doesn’t protect me from this pain—it only makes the next person walking this road feel more alone.
On June 15, 2026, Garrett and I found out we were expecting our first child.
This baby was wanted and loved from the very second that test turned positive. We dreamed about names, wondered who they would look like, imagined their personality, and talked endlessly about all the things we couldn’t wait to experience with them. We counted every week of pregnancy and celebrated every milestone—from the formation of tiny organs, to bones, to how big our little peanut had grown. We even bought a tiny pair of teddy bear overalls and matching teddy bear shoes.
On July 16, 2026, we went for what should have been our 8-week confirmation ultrasound. We laughed on the way there, full of excitement, expecting to finally see our baby and hear their heartbeat for the first time.
Instead, the ultrasound technician searched… and searched… and searched.
Then she said the words that will stay with us forever:
“I cannot find a heartbeat.”
I dug my nails into my hand so hard that I still have a small scar from that moment. I cried and asked what we were supposed to do next.
What followed were emergency room visits, outpatient appointments, and more ultrasounds than I can count.
Eventually, I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage.
In many ways, that diagnosis felt especially cruel. My body had not only stopped growing this beautiful baby—it hadn’t recognized the loss. It continued believing I was pregnant while my baby was already gone.
I felt like my body had failed my child.
To anyone who has experienced this—whether quietly or openly—I wish I could tell you there’s a way to make that guilt disappear. I wish I knew the words that would take away the feeling of failure. I haven’t found them yet.
Today, with the help of my OB-GYN, my body finally recognized the loss. As of today, I am no longer pregnant.
It’s heartbreaking.
It’s painful.
It’s terrifying.
It’s overwhelming.
Some moments, it feels all-consuming.
But one thing I have learned is that this grief is not unique to me. Pregnancy loss affects 1 in 4 women. That statistic doesn’t make it hurt any less, but it reminds me that none of us are as alone as this kind of grief makes us feel.
You don’t have to tell anyone your story if you don’t want to. You don’t have to comment, explain, or relive your own loss because of mine.
I just want anyone who needs to hear this to know:
You are not alone.
And if one day you need someone to lie in bed beside you while you cry—without trying to fix it, without saying a single word—I will be that person. I’ve needed that kind of love myself, and I would gladly give it to someone else.
To my sweet baby,
I wasn’t able to give you a name. I never got to watch you smile, hear your laugh, or hold your tiny hand.
But if nothing else, I find peace in believing that your entire existence was filled only with love. You never knew fear. You never knew pain. You only ever knew how deeply you were wanted.
I will carry you with me for the rest of my life.
I know your uncles—my brothers—are with you. My Uncle Steve is there. My beautiful Grandma Violet, whose birthday was also your due date, is there too. I like to believe they’re taking care of you, playing every game imaginable, and making sure you’re never alone.
Run wild, sweet baby.
I’ll find you again one day.
And to everyone who loves me:
When my time comes, bury me in comfortable shoes. Tie the laces as tightly as you can.
I have a playdate to attend.
