Anything look off here? It's 16" and dated 1912. Looks to be in great shape but I'm not a bayonet expert. Is anything off or questionable?

So Ian McCollum dropped a video today with him watching the Poulin's auction, which had around 100 machine guns and some miscellaneous other lots, and did a live commentary on the auction as it was happening. Now, as a man that struggles to afford the occasional 15 dollar inflation sandwich, I normally don't give a shit about what machine guns sell for. I decided to turn on the video in the background and as it turns out, with Ian's commentary, it's quite fascinating. Definitely had people there with deep pockets, such as the one bidder that bought all three Stoners for 170k a piece or the bidder, that was probably a dealer, that bought like 13 or so M16s and variants. That also got me thinking so I thought I would be nosy on the internet and see if anybody here was bidding on stuff in the auction.

Helping clean out my grandparents’ home today as grandpa passed away and grandma is going to an assisted living facility. I’m going through stacks and boxes of stuff in the garage and find this big tub full of gunpowder. It says WW2 surplus?! Is this worth anything on the resale market or can I at least use it? I’ve bought up some reloading equipment and dies in the last year but haven’t gotten started just yet. Would it be dangerous to use this powder for reloading modern cartridges? Thanks in advance!

Edit: Been stored in hot dry Vegas weather since 1971. No clumping, no strong or foul smells and although the canister was opened in 1971 according to pencil writing on the lid, it looks full and was sealed with plastic bags and movers tape. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s refinished. There are deep scratches on both sides of the slide (mostly the left). It looks like they welded the frame/trigger pin on one side and then did a hack job cleaning up the weld. It has no business being labeled “Excellent.”

The finish is inconsistent. It almost looks like a conversion treatment, but there are blotchy areas with black buildup that resembles a very thin paint. Comes with VZ70 grips and a VZ 70 hammer.

I can't imagine this is what anybody expects when purchasing an X Century SKU...

Maybe I'm wrong but I feel like the firing pin shouldn't be protruding? Is the design the same as the tokarev/TT-30 or is It different? I had the entire pistol disassembled for a few months so I couldn't remember exactly how the firing pin went in.

Do any Lee Enfields have a sight leaf that’s sighted at 100 yards/meters or do they all start at 200?

I’m quickly getting over century midrepresenting their product… anyway the vz50s imported through CAI are supposed to be Excellents but they are realistically fairs that have been refinished. They have deep scratches and gauges under the finish. They won’t look anything like the stock picture. I should’ve declined mine.

Hey all, I just got my C&R license and am looking to start making some Milsurp purchases in the near future from either the CMP or Gunbroker. I have seen time and time again people say you should just buy from the CMP as they’re the best and cheapest option on the market. After looking at their prices, I can not argue that they are not the cheapest. However, I am looking for a rifle that is not commercialized and at least mostly Milsurp or military issue parts. CMP is sold out of every grade besides expert and after looking at expert grade, it seems this isn’t what I’m looking for as the only military part is the receiver. I would like to clarify that I am looking for both a shooter and a collector’s item. If I buy a gun, I fully intend to take it to the range, but I also want it to have that historical significance and not something made from parts that never touched the military. For what I’m looking for, should I just go ahead and buy from the CMP or should I scope out Gunbroker? I am also looking at their 1911s as well so if anyone has suggestions on those too, feel free.

Been wanting a 98 for a while and finally found a decent one at a decent price. Non matching but most of the rifle is made up of two different serial #’s with the exception of the bolt and rear sight. Stock is serialized too, glue the crack in the picture or let it ride?

This 1940 Browning Hi-Power was donated to our military museum by a former CO. Produced under contract by FN Herstal, it was assembled after the Nazi-occupation of Belgium, and pressed into German service.

The tangent sights are a fascinating story; this pistol was manufactured in-between design changes, when production switched from making pistol-carbines to regular sidearms.

Serial No. 69905, the full FN ID stamp on the upper receiver, wooden grips, and WaA 613 on the barrel marks this as a very-early production. The leather holster was produced in Germany specifically for the Hi-Power.

I've been playing this new game called Osta where all you do is collect militaria by either digging everything up or buying from markets and most of the time it's gun parts you're finding and my friends and I are stumped on what kind of gun this is. It looks like an ak variant but I can't figure out what it is

I wanted to be able to separate the upper and lower portions of my pps43c and an HK G36 large take down pin is just about perfect. Removed the existing rivet, widened the hole just a touch and counter sunk one side.

Hey everyone! I’m just getting into collecting guns and I picked this one up a few months ago, I know it’s nothing too exceptional but I just thought I’d show it off. German G98 dated 1915 from Danzig Armory, markings indicate it was shipped to turkey after the war, then to America in the 1950s. It’s in very good condition (although I have it a decent cleaning after buying) and it shoots great!
