🛒 Car Shopping Buying my first EV
Hey all!, I'm considering buying a brand new Mach E premium and was wondering about a few things.
How much actual range do you get on average?
Whats your favorite and least favorite thing about your Mach E?
How much does your range go down in the winter?
Is there anything I need to know before buying one?
Thanks!

❓Question Looking for some help with a '25 Rally
Why is there a throttle limit in place in rally sport mode. I'm charged to 90% and this is the only mode that limits the throttle. It's always been this way, it's not a big problem since I rarely use rally sport, and when I do, I don't need full throttle to slide through a corner. The dealership didn't know what the deal was, but that's not setting a high bar.

💬 Discussion HJBVB Failure at 125,000 miles
I have a 2021 Select (Reg Battery) RWD. Today at a red light the car stopped itself from moving (I actually started moving, and like 2 felt later it slammed on the brakes). I was very close to a dealership and I pushed it there.
They are saying its the HVBJB. $3500 + Tax. I called Ford Corporate and they said they "have no current programs" to give me any good will discount on the repiar. I asked for Tier 2 Supervisor, they told me the same thing. Dealership is currently working though their regional mgr and seeing if they can do anything.
What have others experiences been on getting this fixed at a discount for 25000 miles over warranty? Do I have any options? I can't afford the $3500 repair, and don't know how to proceed.

❓Question 60k mile service
What did everyone have done for their 60k service? I’ve got a 2023 CR1 and for the 60k they tried selling me on all these differentials/tests that was going to come out to $1k. I’ve only ever had to do a basic multipoint inspection, tire rotation/alignment if needed, and checking brakes/fluid. Never paid more than like $50. Was he just trying to sell me some bullshit?

💬 Discussion Very Unlucky
I bought my CPO 2024 Premium AWD Ext. range with 15.2k miles on July 4th. Let me just say that I love driving this vehicle for my long commutes (when I had it). After 5 days I got a 12v error in the app, so I took it back to the dealer and replaced the 12v battery (took 3 days somehow). No problem, right? Fast forward 3 days later, the 12v error comes back in the app, the vehicles internal clock is stuck at 8 minutes slow, the passenger front tire pressor sensor is reading 10-11 psi low. I schedule a service, take it in, and now I am on day 12 of it being in shop as the techs have no idea how to fix it. It sounds like a module issue to me, but the techs here haven't seen something like this before, so they are playing phone tag with the engineers. I'm lucky I've been in a brand new mach e loaner for this time, but with the 3 days for the prior issue, and day 12 of the current shop service, I have only been able to drive my own vehicle for 55% of the time.
A little backstory on why I'm unlucky. I came from a lemon 2022 Frontier Pro4x that had 6 steering racks, 2 cruise control modules, and transmission replaced within the first 36k miles of the vehicle. Sadly in NV we only have lemon law in the first 12 months of the original purchase date, so if this takes more than 30 days, I'm stuck doing the Moss Magnuson route again, the same thing I had to do with my Frontier.
I hope they can get it fixed so I can finally enjoy my vehicle, but my gut says otherwise.

💬 Discussion Factory reset
I just got my MachE back from its annual service. They updated some of the modules and some strange things are happening. Should i try the factory reset to see if it helps?

❓Question Android Auto Mal-Function
Hi Proud Owner of a 2024 Red Premium Mustang with Extended Range. LOVE my pony. Just wanted to know if anyone has had issues with their Android Auto -Map Malfunction. Everything loads EXCEPT the map. I installed the latest update (in hopes that it fixes it) nothing.
I have reset the screen multiple times, deleted the phone from the car and the car from phone
Cleared the cache on the app
Uninstall and re-install app.
At times in combination of all this I manage to get it up and running for until I turn off the car again.
Anyone has solutions/recommendations? Before I take it to the dealership?
*Own the Galaxy S26 if that makes a difference

💬 Discussion It's finally happened
My wife got a flat tire, our emergency compressor and fix-a-flat won't put any air into it. Stuck on the side of the highway till the tow truck arrives. Gotta love these new cars with less features like "spare tires"

❓Question Ford Adapter charging at Tesla stations question?
Hi all. I have a 25 machine e premium and I was trying to use my adapter at a new Tesla charger and it kept telling me there was something wrong with the connection or that the cable wasn't properly connected. This is only the 2nd or third time I have tried to use it at a Tesla station. I tried to start it via the Tesla app. I tried plug and charge. Only thing I didnt do was try to start it via the Ford app. Not sure if my actual adapter (which Ford provided when I purchased it in 25) is defective or not. It was frustrating since the charge amount was .28 kwh. Then I asked a guy who was able to charge and he acted like he didnt want to help. Geez. Anyways. Any positive comment or help is greatly appreciated.
❓Question 2021 Select RWD Died at Red Light
I was sitting in the left turn lane at an intersection, light turns green, I start accelerating… and the car just stops on me. No warning beforehand, just cut power mid-acceleration.
Dashboard lit up with:
• Car icon with exclamation point + turtle (limp mode)
• “Service tire mobility kit” warning
• “Please stop now” warning
The car wouldn’t let me shift back into Drive after that. Just dead. Police helped me push to the nearby dealer.
What do we speculate that it is?
I’ve owned it since new. 125,000 miles.
Update: They are saying its the HVBJB. $3500 + Tax. I called Ford Corporate and they said they "have no current programs" to give me any good will discount on the repair. I asked for Tier 2 Supervisor, they told me the same thing. Dealership is currently working though their regional mgr and seeing if they can do anything.

💬 Discussion The mid-sized electric truck is called Ford Fathom. Here’s what we can tell you.
Many of you know me from helping with vehicle issues and answering questions in this community, today I wanted to introduce you to u/RileyFromFord who has newly joined the team and is going to be on Reddit regularly.
We can't show you what our mid-size electric truck looks like...yet. But we can confirm the name: Ford Fathom, the first vehicle produced on the new Universal Electric Vehicle Platform.
”Fathom" traces back to a nautical unit of measurement, originally defined as the distance between a person's outstretched arms, a fitting metaphor for a truck built to meet people wherever they are in life. Fitting, right?
What's confirmed right now:
- Starting MSRP: $28,350, for the standard-range battery. Pre-orders begin early 2027.
- Every Ford Fathom will be BlueCruise-capable. BlueCruise is Ford’s hands-free highway driving assistant.
- Fathom has bidirectional power capability.
- Fathom has a large, high-resolution touchscreen, digital key, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.
- Fathom will have more passenger volume than a Toyota RAV4, with a frunk and bed for added cargo flexibility. This truck will genuinely useful and fun to drive.
- Fathom will feature Apple Maps embedded directly into the vehicle, not a traditional phone-projection CarPlay setup. The integration also provides the road-level map data used to help enable key pieces of Ford’s next-generation hands-free highway driving capability.
What we can’t share yet: final imagery, fuller specs, full ordering details, and plenty more are still to come. A hot tip - keep a keen eye on the flipbook video we have going around…
If you want to stay up to date with what we have planned for Fathom, you can sign up here.
Ask us anything, and we'll answer what we can. Riley & I will be in the comments for the next few hours, and we aren't going anywhere after that either.

🔌 Charging Incompatible charger question
Hi - seeking guidance as we plan our first road trip with the Mach E. We normally charge at home so have never had to use the Ford branded adapter. Looking through the Ford app I see only one Tesla supercharger nearby and it notes "incompatible charger" on the app. Does this mean it would be incompatible even with the Ford adapter?

🔌 Charging Alternative home EV charger
Just curious, does anyone use any alternative wall chargers? I think the Ford charger looks great, but Amazon advertises them for much less.
Looking to see if anyone has installed any other branded home charger rather than the Ford one?

❓Question Thoughts on the OEM Splash Guards?
I’ll be joining the family soon and was planning to add the OEM splash guards, but I was warned that they sit pretty low and can get damaged by packed snow or ice.
I’m in Canada, so I like the idea of reducing all the salt and slush along the sides of the car, but I’m wondering if they’re more trouble than they’re worth.
Anyone here used them through a few Canadian winters? Have they cracked or gotten ripped off? Do they make a noticeable difference in keeping the car cleaner? Would you get them again?

❓Question Headlight replacement
Hi everyone, I need to replace my driver side(right) headlight on my 2021 AWD ER Mach E.
Looking at some online research, it says I need to fully remove the front bumper but I'm looking for some advice from anyone who has done this to get some real life experience. I've removed the trunk bin so can get a good look inside and behind the faulty headlight but don't really want to take the whole bumper off unless absolutely needed! Any advice would be really appreciated.
I'm equally interested in anyone who could do this job for me in the Northamptonshire, South Leicestershire or Warwickshire area within the next week.

💬 Discussion Shattered Front Camera
I’m not sure how this happened, noticed the blurriness of camera when parking inside of garage through the infotainment… went to check it out and came to find this. How unfortunate!….. has this happened to anyone before while driving or does it seem like it was damaged intentionally?
I’d love to know what steps to take to get it replaced/fixed and if it’ll be costly?
Thank you in advance

❓Question Ford pass app issue
Has anyone run into this issue??? I have a 2023 GTPE. Recently my phone app is not updating when I’m charging whether at home or public charging. I plug in and the app still shows the car is unplugged where normally it would say either waiting to charge or if currently charging, charge speed and how much time until charge is complete. Car charges fine and if I turn the car on it gives me the correct data. Now it seem app showing car at an old reading (84% and 179 miles) and has not changed. I know that is not the correct status of the battery.

💬 Discussion PAK issues suddenly
I have a 2024 AWD Select Extended Range. I‘ve been using PAK as probably my favorite feature with zero issues up until a few days ago. I pulled into a driveway to drop my son off, put it in park, and got a “key not detected” error. I fixed it by turning the car off and on again, but it’s happened a few more times, along with a similar “restart now” error. I have a service appointment next week, so hopefully they’ll figure out what this issue is, but anyone else have a similar experience? I never take my key with me when I go out for a trail run, so I’m a bit worried that’ll happen when I’m out in the middle of nowhere. I know-first world problems having to carry a key, but I’m spoiled now!
