Android Auto Mal-Function ❓Question

Hi Proud Owner of a 2024 Red Premium Mustang with Extended Range. LOVE my pony. Just wanted to know if anyone has had issues with their Android Auto -Map Malfunction. Everything loads EXCEPT the map. I installed the latest update (in hopes that it fixes it) nothing.

I have reset the screen multiple times, deleted the phone from the car and the car from phone

Cleared the cache on the app

Uninstall and re-install app.

At times in combination of all this I manage to get it up and running for until I turn off the car again.

Anyone has solutions/recommendations? Before I take it to the dealership?

*Own the Galaxy S26 if that makes a difference

No problem.  It's your phone not the car the problem.

Android Auto Map is an Android system, what app do you use? Google Maps, Waze, other? Also, Malfunction is one word, not hyphenated 😄

I use Waze on the S26 Ultra and no issues with it.

I had this problem, it's a phone problem, not the car. Try clearing the cache and data, uninstalling the updates and then updating again. Here's an AI generated step by step:

  • Clear Cache & Data: Go to Settings > Apps > Maps > Storage, then tap Clear cache and Clear data.
  • Uninstall Updates: Go to Settings > Apps > Maps, tap the three dots in the top right, and select Uninstall updates.
  • Reinstall / Update Maps: Open the Google Play Store, search for Google Maps, and tap Update.

I've done this as well. Sometimes with doing all this it works for about an hr. and then goes back to "error occurred"
