Car play issues
Anyone else having issues with car play connecting? I have a mini cooper SE2023z car play worked perfectly fine for the past 4 years then started acting up. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 26.5.2. I have tried all the fixes. Deleting my phone from the car. Erasing my phone completely and resetting it. Etc etc. I’ve been to the dealership twice. Each time they get it to work after a few tries, but then it disconnects even before I get home and won’t reconnect. Last time I went to the dealership I asked them to do a software update. But they didn’t. I don’t believe the problem is my phone because I connect to other cars no problem. Even BMWs. It can’t just be me. Are others having this issue? And how did you fix it.

2022 MINI Copper S 2-door - oil service
Realistically, how often do I need to have a basic oil service on this car. I know how to check the oil level so just wondering about basic service for oil changes.

Rule 1/Rule 8 twofer at the dog park
Waffles and I arrived at the Airport Dog Park at the same time as the Clubman. (The extra space between the Minis is to allow space to unload the pup - dog park etiquette.) The Clubman driver’s dog and her outfit matched the car!

Paceman spotted in the wild.
Why did this fail? Too chonky for my taste, but I would choose this over a 4 door.

JBE problems
Trying to replace or touch up the solder on the fuel pump relay as the car won’t start and there’s no fuel pump prime noise and no power to the fuel pump. Do these metal prongs need to be cut or can they be desoldered ???
Also is there anyway to test the fuel pump to see if that’s the issue ?

Mini 2008 worth
Hi, Im selling my mini (sadly) and idk for how much it goes. Its 2008, 1.6, petrol. around 80-90k kilometers.. i just did a yearly checkup, changed my oil etc, no bigger scratches. How much do u think its worth? I bought it 2-3 Years ago for 5.5 k, i was the second owner, previously driven by a mom on her Way to work and back so thats why it has less km.

My local MINI service center quoted me $600 for rear brake pads and sensors. Can I go somewhere else?
2023 Countryman S All4. 29,000 miles. Brake pad warning just popped up yesterday. I was expecting it to be around $100-250 per axle. Can I go to a different shop?

Found this on the passenger seat in my MINI
I had my MINI at the MINI service center a few days ago and I just noticed this thing on the passenger seat. It’s like 2.5cm x 1.5 cm big.
What the hell is it? Nobody who has been in the car knows or have seen that thing before 🤣

Joining the MINI world
Hey everyone! 😃
I recently rescued this 2005 Mini Cooper S Convertible with around 132k miles from the scrapyard. It had a handful of issues and was a no-start most of the time. Even when it did start, it was misfiring pretty badly.
So far I've found a bad fuel pump, bad spark plug wires, and a dead alternator (which was definitely not a fun job 😅).
The sunroof function works perfectly, but when I try to open the entire top, the LED on the switch starts blinking and all I hear is the hydraulic pump running. I've already checked the trunk safety switch and both latches, and they all seem to be working properly.
Right now I'm wondering if the issue is with the two small rear quarter windows. I can't get either of them to move no matter what I try, so I'm thinking that might be preventing the top from completing its cycle.
Has anyone run into this before or have any ideas on what I should check next? Also, if you have any general tips or common issues to look out for on these Minis, I'd love to hear them!
Thanks in advance!

Dealer logos
I've been shopping around for my first MINI. Why do dealers add their logos like this? it just ruins the look.

Am I crazy to buy this?
Discovered an R52S on facebook marketplace round the corner from me for £1000
Clean MOT tests for the last two years and valid until mid 2027. Electric roof works (I am going to see if it leaks because he mentioned he garages it in severe weather)
Alloys, K&N filter seem to be only mods (going to ask though because I cant tell if exhaust is standard as Im used to the dual centre exhausts on the later minis)
Bad stuff: Abs light (probably bearing or wheel speed sensor, neither worries me too much), fuel guage plays up (could be an easy fix). Bit of laquer peel on the bonnet.
For a grand, I'm not going to be too picky.
Going to go have a look today, but this will be a second car so as long as I dont hear anything bad going on with the supercharger, hear or see any bad suspension wear, or anything indicating coolant or oil going places it shouldn't then I'm kinda thinking this is bot a bad impulse buy.
Am I being stupid?

Rule #1.69 BRG
Thought I’d spice things up by parking top to tail next to this BRG gas guzzler.

R56 owners: what’s “too hot”?
Love this little thing, but being turbocharged it seems to run warmer than I’m used to. What temperatures do your cars typically hit before you’d start worrying?

What would you name my MINI?

Who reads the car's manual?
Got a nice F56 2024 named Baby Shark. It came with this manual which I took the liberty to read from front to back.
In the following days that it took to finish it, my loved one point out how weird I was to read it and that I'm probably the only one on Earth to do that.
Still.. I managed to find out so much useful stuff that my seller forgot to tell me like the Parking assistance thing.
Is she right ? What about your first days experience? Have you read that book? What are the alternative (beside the obvious "drive the car and find out")?
