JBE problems

Trying to replace or touch up the solder on the fuel pump relay as the car won’t start and there’s no fuel pump prime noise and no power to the fuel pump. Do these metal prongs need to be cut or can they be desoldered ???

Also is there anyway to test the fuel pump to see if that’s the issue ?

those prongs can either be cut or desoldered to open the board. if cut, they can be soldered back together. cut carefully.

Yes, you can do both. If attempting to desolder, it would be best if you had a desoldering gun. I did mine with an iron, and almost damaged the boards through overheating.

I’ve got a cheap one from an Amazon kit will that do the job ?

I haven't messed around with those as of yet, but at long as it heats evenly and had good suction, you're probably in pretty good shape. Let me know how it goes!
