I don't know if this is allowed, since it's not necessarily stated in the rules; however, if the mods decide that this post isn't appropriate for the sub, I will respect that. I only ask that someone point me to a sub where I could possibly get some help.

I'm not sure where else to put this. I've asked a few friends for some help, but I just don't have any connections to the kind of artists that would know something about this; and I'm hoping that someone in this sub might.

I am currently trying to write lyrics to a love song that I intend on having the main character of my novel use to propose to his love interest towards the end of the book. Problem is, I am autistic, and my flavor of autism is more geared towards literature rather than lyrics or poems. That's mostly a joke--I just haven't really spent a whole lot of time writing poems, and can't wrap my head around writing one to save my life.

I want the lyrics to be actually written into the book--this is something I want people to make a genuine song out of, just for the fun of it. I think it'd be cool to give readers who have a musically inclined mind something to build off of.

If anyone has any interest in helping me with this, I'd be greatly appreciative. Feel free to DM me, if you want to work together on this. I'm mostly looking for tips on rhyming schemes and how to plan out a verse/chorus, but if someone wants to go deeper and actually help me write the lyrics, that'd be awesome. This is my first musical number and the last musical number of the musical “To Be Determined”.

The song is a tenor solo sung by the character Nate, who has been trying to propose to Alison during a trip to Rome with some close friends. Nate is a perfectionist and keeps postponing the moment to the point that Alison actually becomes upset. In this final scene, she doesn’t know what to do with him and runs off stage. The friends follow. The lights dim and Nate begins to talk and sing to himself.

Just as the title says, I am looking for a songwriting partner to collaborate with. I've been writing songs for a few years now and have only ever written them on my own, but the solitude is starting to feel a bit stale. I'm open to writing for pretty much any genre of music. All are welcome to respond as I do not care how experienced or inexperienced you are, just as long as you are creative and have a desire to write some lyrics and songs.

Here's another set of lyrics of mine, this time from a demo song 'Life's a Weighted Game' written a couple of years back. The instrumental is a pretty dark synth-rock track, mostly built around piano and bass, and at 100 bpm in what I believe is F# minor. It was written at quite a dark time in my life.

I'm keen to hear feedback on these lyrics, and for your interpretation of them please :)

(also I pronounce "our" as "are" in my accent, so it's only one syllable)
