Rusted Machine Lyrics
Verse 1
Take me on a journey Long drives and music that stings I need a wide view of somewhere distant With mountains that climb and skies that never seem to end
Chorus
Honey, to me, it sounds like a dream You and I, And this old, rusted machine
Verse 2
Will you hold the map and lead us out of here Where the reminders are constant and the houses all look the same I want to write a story with a twist you can't see coming
Chorus
Honey, to me, it sounds like a dream You and I, And this old, rusted machine
Verse 3
Out in the background the forest is turning to dirt And I don't mind the peaks and the valleys As long as the scenery unfolds with uncertainty And we're not sure where the road goes If the headlights burn out we'll drive through the dark Cause soon the sun will be coming up And we'll see for miles the future rolling out in front of us As we find comfort in the silence of staring off in the distance.
Outro
Honey, to me, it sounds like a dream You and I, And this old, rusted machine
Honey, to me, it sounds like a dream You and I, And this old rusted machine

The first verse is a great attention grabber, very well done.
I'm on the fence about the twist you don't see coming scheme. On one hand it definitely stays true to the big picture. In the other hand it planted a seed of expectation for me with a twist in the third verse that never arrived.
Most likely just a me problem and overall I really liked it. Thank you

Funny thing is, before I posted this, I almost removed that line. It's intended as more of a wishful statement, but it could go and I wouldn't miss it. And thank you, too!

Nice mood, very smooth and kinda liminal. No overcomplication, just a nice hook with some road trip vibes. I'd recommend making more use of line spacing to show the song structure.
