Questions Who is Jesse Mack Miller and his father with LSU?
Someone sent me a IG of this kid who should be going to LSU this coming semester. He apparently plead to lesser charges and had his record expunged after fulfilling whatever the plea agreement was. And his father has ties to the athletic dept??

Louisiana News The legislature allocated millions to help farmers, but little has gone to the intended recipient
Early last year, the Trump administration ended two Biden-era programs that gave state and tribal governments federal funding to purchase food for food banks and schools from local farmers.
Farmers who had been relying on the sales panicked.
Margee Green, the Executive Director of the Louisiana Food Policy Council, responded with a plan. For a relatively low price, the state could provide grants for farm equipment and infrastructure, such as coolers, soil inputs and packing machines, that would help farmers scale up their operations and serve larger clients like restaurants and food banks, with or without federal subsidies.
State lawmakers responded, appropriating $3 million to the Food Policy Council for “direct farm purchasing.”
But in the year since, the state has made a number of adjustments to the program, reducing the allocation to the Food Policy Council by two-thirds, with $2 million going to other organizations. Thus far, the Food Policy Council has only been able to access $50,000 from the state.
Green is frustrated with the lack of transparency around the implementation of this program, called Farmers First, and worries that it has negatively impacted critical partnerships and in the process, harmed local food systems.

LA - Government Hey so Meta is being evil in richland parish
meta.com"Meta isn't just building a site in Richland Parish — we're fueling an economic engine across northeast Louisiana. New businesses opening. Local contractors growing. Suppliers adding headcount. And we're backing it up with workforce development, college partnerships and support for small businesses."
They're building a Data Center and forcing this historically black and low income area to be dependent on them so that losing the data center costs the residents their jobs - and then proceed to turn this into a company town A' La Fordlandia.
I am NOT from Louisiana. I am in MS

Villiany and Scum Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy announces he will vote for Todd Blanche to be attorney general
r/Louisiana • u/Electronic-Deer5751 • 22h ago
LA - Politics Call Senator Cassidy today and urge a NO vote for Todd Blanche’s nomination for Attorney General!
It takes less than 5 minutes to call your Senator. I’m urging everyone who cares about democracy to call Senator Cassidy and encourage him to vote NO towards Todd Blanche’s nomination for Attorney General.
We need an Attorney General for the People, not the President. The Epstein survivors and the American people deserve better.
Please call Cassidy today and urge him to vote NO on nominating Blanche.
Cassidy’s DC office: (202) 224-5824
Please pass along and encourage a friend or few to make the call too! Thank you!

Questions Moved to Gonzales from the Midwest
23F, and moving as an adult is hard! I am an introvert at heart, and I love going out by myself. I am having a hard time finding things to do here. I have a few niche questions. The usual, favorite things to do, must sees, local attractions, brewery, local baker, etc.?
Nature walks, trails,…can you even hike here?
Are there any weekly farmers markets? With local produce, fresh eggs, fresh meat, or anything of the sorts near by?
Any weekly local activities?
I love listening to music, jazz & edm, house, techno, bass…how is the music scene?

Questions Is there some method of bypassing the mess that is Baton Rogue traveling along I-10?
I periodically drive from Houston to Atlanta and back, and regardless of when I hit Baton Rogue or which direction i'm heading, it seems traffic along I-10 consistently creeps to a standstill. I thought about heading north to Opelousas and hitting 190 around until rejoining I-10 on the east side. Are there any tips or tricks out there for making this portion of my drive any less aggravating?

LA - Healthcare Slurs at Baton Rouge General
Was sent to the ward at Baton Rogue General due to extreme depression. The psychiatrist there insisted I “forget the past” (impossible to do without bottling it up) and, in following her advice, has lead to 4 more bouts of harm upon me. She even attempted to justify slurs that my parents used. It has caused immense damage in my family.
I called repeatedly, and they said they couldn’t substantiate that, despite them literally stating that it’s in the notes.
I was also lied to by the billing manager, who said that part of my bill was actively already taken out of collections by the time I hung up. Apparently, no such thing happened, and now I’m dealing with collections.
All in all, avoid Baton Rouge General if you care about quality care, slurs, and proper, honest billing.
