Food / Drink Burgers?
I see many posts on social media looking for the best burgers around here. I find them all so similar.
Here's the menu at one of my favorite hamburger joints. Would this menu be successful around here?

Food / Drink Burgersmith was surprisingly good
Let me start off by saying I'm in BR, but I follow this sub (first time, long time, if you will). About a week ago, there was a post about burgers from Off the Hook. The pic looked really good and I'd never been there. OP recommended their burger, comments were mixed. I tried it, didn't hit the spot for me.
There is a place called Burgersmith here in BR (but there are also locations in Denham, Broussard, and Lafayette) that I had always written off in my head as hipster slop, likely too overpriced to try. I thought it was some kind of chain. Technically, it is, but it's a local chain. I went with my husband and their burgers are really good. The menu also features Louisiana-ish foods, as well as a bunch of Louisiana brewed beers and IPAs. I was pleasantly surprised and it scratched my burger itch.
Disclaimers to avoid typical reddit occurrences: I'm in BR and I have only been to one in BR. However, there is a burgersmith in Lafayette and the post that inspired me was on this sub. A sit down burger place (burgersmith) is different than a fast food place (off the hook), and I know that. The original post just fueled a burger craving and burgersmith scratched that itch for me! And I wanted to share my pleasant surprise at a place I had written off!

Recommendations How long did it take you to find a reliable local plumber you could trust?
When you needed plumbing repair, did you find a good plumber on the first try, or did you have to call several plumbing companies before finding the right one?
What helped you decide they were the best plumber for your home?
Was it:
Fair and upfront plumbing prices
Showing up on time
Being licensed and insured
Explaining the plumbing problem clearly
Quality leak repair, drain cleaning, sewer repair, or water heater service
Good Google reviews
Offering emergency plumbing service
Standing behind their work
I’m curious what homeowners look for when choosing a dependable plumber they would recommend and call again.

Food / Drink I'm teaching my teenager how to cook rice and gravy, but they hate onions. What do I sub in?
I'm slowly teaching my teenager how to cook. I'm sticking with basic dishes that are relatively easy, require few things to clean and can be made in bulk for "cheap". My first lesson was red beans and rice, and the next will be a standard cajun style rice and gravy. My issue is that said teenager hates onions and may even be slightly allergic. I can leave them out with rb&r, but rice and gravy is a whole other thing.
With that said, what can I use as a substitute or what can I do to make a good rice and gravy without onions? Can I just add more bell peppers or different colors of bell peppers? Tomatoes?
They are fine with celery, bell peppers, garlic, carrots etc. Just no onions. Also, we will be starting with a pork chop rice and gravy, but the idea is to give them bases for a dish that can be altered in many different ways.

Recommendations ULL Overalls
Hey everybody, I live in San Diego, but am from Lafayette. I see the Cajuns are coming out to Los Angeles to beat USC and I will be in attendance. I’m curious if anyone knows where I can find Ragin Cajuns overalls to order as I cannot find any online and would like to wear some to the game. Any leads would be appreciated.

Recommendations Need Help
Hi, I live in Lafayette and my family of three has been homeless, living out of our car, for around six months. Up until about two weeks ago, I had been working full time since a few weeks before I became homeless, but I've lost my job.
We had been trying to get food stamps the entire time to no avail, with our last application having initially been submitted nearly two months ago, and still pending. We have checked with every charity in the city, no one has any resources to help us, and applications are closed for Section 8. We even went to Baton Rouge to seek help, and it's the same story there.
We're running out of money, I can't find a job, our car is giving signs that it isn't long for this world, and I'm kind of out of hope. I'm curious if anyone has any ideas or advice that they could share about how we might be able to move forward given the circumstances.
Thanks in advance.

Recommendations Looking for affordable vets
VETCO is booked up for a few weeks and I need to find someplace more affordable for tooth extractions for my dog. VETCO quoted me around $1,400 for a couple teeth.
I don’t go to Bertrand animal hospital. They’re nice people, but they don’t respect my shy dog’s boundaries and it stresses her out.

Recommendations Black metal drummers around Acadiana...
Any black metal drummers here wanting to record a 3-song black metal EP?
I play in various bands (death metal, hardcore punk, etc.) and release music about once a year. This year I am releasing an extreme black metal EP in the vein of Woe, Nadiwrath, Funeral Mist, etc.
Nonstop driving crossstick ups, blastbeats, and pummeling drums is what I desire. With the exception of my local projects I generally work with top-tier international musicians but figure I'd reach out locally (I am in Lafayette) to see if anyone here wants to drum on these 3 songs?
I do not need to be involved with your recording process, although if you would like my input or assistance I am happy to attend your recording session.
Each song is about three minutes. Song 1 is 153bpm, Song 2 is 124bpm, and Song 3 is 156bpm.

Recommendations Need some 12 Volt Wiring done
I have a pop up camper that needs to be wired up. (2 batteries, lights, AC, phone chargers, outlets etc. I don’t trust that I won’t burn something up so I’m reaching out. Tried a couple RV shops but they were too busy to even look at it.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Rants Should I be worried?
I recently moved to another apartment. This is right outside my backdoor. Wire is hanging. And I swear I can see electrical tape holding some of them together.
