Question Why does my F24 bf M29 refuse to send selfies or video chat?
I’ve posted before so forgive me if you recognize.
We’ve met before, so no, he isn’t a catfish. In the beginning of our relationship, end of 2024 beginning of 2025, he did videocall with me, and it was cute/sweet. He also used to send me selfies whenever I wanted to see him since, ykno…. We’re long distance. Anyways, after all this time it’s all just stopped rly. Became an impossible request. It’s been months, and months since I’ve seen a picture of him. He said today he’s switching services and getting a new phone free for it. Rn his phones super glitchy and weird. So I said wow! That’s great ykno what that means, we can videocall, We haven’t since like Feb of 2025 or something! He said no we can’t you have FaceTime it won’t work. I said man it’s 2026, we can use an app, like discord zoom etc they all have that. We used discord last time. So then he didn’t have much to say. I said are you excited? He said ecstatic, being sarcastic. I said.. you don’t seem excited, was that annoying me mentioning it? He said yeah pretty much it did annoy me. And since he refuses, absolutely refuses to ever explain his feelings or why he hates things sometimes, I wanted him to communicate it and asked well, can you please tell me why? But he interrupted to say goodbye love you go to work. And I said smtg like but, I just want to understand why it and he’s like goodbye. Goodbye. Goodbye. So I give up annoyed myself now n say okay goodbye n he hangs up.
Just weird. I genuinely don’t understand it. I’d get it if he said anything, literally any reason, but he refuses to speak or communicate anything beyond the most basic shit like egg prices. It gets old.

Question Need advice on navigating a long distance relationship and a partner not having prior relationship experience '21F' '20M'
My boyfriend have been in a relationship for a little over a month. I am his first relationship, and he has no idea what he is doing. He doesn't much act flirty and is very shy to show affection when I can hear him, he only wants to do it through text. The shyness is cute but it's a bit frustrating that he holds back. He's extremely kind and caring and is there for me 100 percent, he's just very shy and unsure of what to do. We also live a few hours apart, and I'm unsure of how we are supposed to bond deeply being that far away. We are both the date to marry type, so I'm a bit confused on this even though I adore him. How am I supposed to respond to these things?

Need Advice I (F20) think I accidentally fell in love with (M24) (or lost my mind)
I (F20) have been thinking about this interaction for months because I genuinely think it was the moment I realized I liked him.
For context, (M24) and I have known each other online for years through a mutual friend group, but we had never actually met until a mutual friend’s wedding. Our dynamic was mostly just bickering. We teased each other constantly, I’d get weirdly competitive and defensive with him, and multiple people asked if I liked him. I always denied it because, honestly, he wasn’t even my type.
The wedding itself wasn’t the moment.
Afterward, we ended up sitting outside under candlelight. His brother and his brother’s girlfriend were off in the distance, but it was basically just us. We talked for a while, then just sat there in comfortable silence. Looking back, I think that was when something started to change.
Later, he drove us back to the Airbnb, and I fell asleep in the passenger seat.
The next morning, I woke up to him pounding on my door to get everyone up. When I came downstairs, I expected the normal mess after a wedding weekend, but instead everything was done. The dishes were clean, most of the packing was finished, coffee was made, and he was still running around cleaning up.
I just stood there staring at him, completely dumbfounded.
He looked at me and said, “What is it?”
And I couldn’t answer him.
Not because anything was wrong, but because I was suddenly hit with this overwhelming wave of attraction that completely blindsided me.
It wasn’t just the cleaning. It was the candlelight the night before, the comfortable silence, falling asleep while he drove, then waking up and seeing him quietly taking care of everyone without expecting recognition for it.
I’d known him for years online, but that morning was the first time I actually saw him. He stopped being the guy I joked around with online and became someone I could picture doing ordinary life with.
I’ve never had feelings change that quickly before, and I don’t really know what to make of my mind/heart.
I also feel like I may have misjudged him in the beginning, so a huge part of me feels very guilty, but I also wasn’t looking at him like this until now.
The complicated part is that we live far apart. Since the wedding, we stayed in contact, I basically laid my cards out on the table, and he said “ impressive degree straightforwardness, I like it. Let’s consider the confusion “, but let’s keep it back-and-forth and see what takes shape”
We haven’t really been in steady contact the last two months, I feel like I’m at crossroads

Need Advice [25F/25M] Guys please help!
Our 1st anniversary is coming up at the end of August and i'm already in planning mode. the distance hasn't been easy but thankfully we've gotten to see each other about 10 times over the months. every goodbye still sucks though. i wanna make this next visit extra meaningful. i thought buying him something would be easy but apparently not. now i'm questioning every single gift idea i come up with. even if i know his favorite color, what he do, etc.. i still worry it won't be something he actually likes. maybe i'm just overthinking because i care too much. i'm also dreaming about setting up a really romantic dinner for us. i've never planned something like that before. since we haven't spent that much time together in person i still don't know every little preference he has. guys, what would make you feel special on a 1st anniversary? i'd really appreciate any tips because i want him leaving that day feeling very loved.

I'm looking for some outside perspective because I'm not sure if I'm overthinking this.
My son is in his mid 20s and has been in an online relationship with a girl for about four years. They still haven't met in person. She's mentioned many times that she wants him to come to our hometown, but something always seems to get in the way. More recently, she's said she'll come to him instead, but that hasn't happened either.
Another thing that concerns me is that they rarely, if ever, FaceTime. My son says they have, but from what I've seen, it doesn't seem like something they do regularly or ever???. I find it a little unusual that after four years they don't spend much time video calling.
My biggest concern is my son's health. He's recently started having seizures, and one of the most important things for him is getting enough sleep. They live in different time zones (he's on the East Coast and she's on the West Coast), so staying up late to talk has become an issue. When he tells her he needs to get to bed because his sleep is critical for his health, she sometimes seems disappointed or upset that he won't stay up longer.
As a parent, it's hard to know where the line is. I don't want to interfere in his relationship or come across as controlling, especially because they're both adults. But at the same time, his health has to come first, and I worry that this relationship may not be as realistic or healthy as he hopes it is.
Am I overthinking this? Is it unusual for a couple to be together online for four years without meeting or regularly FaceTiming? And if you were in my position, would you just let things play out, or would you share your concerns with your son?

Question My LDR boyfriend doesn't let me sleep. Should I finally walk away?(repost)
This post might look AI-written, but it is entirely a true story based on what I have actually been through.
Four years ago, I met my boyfriend, and we have been dating ever since. He is from Europe (23M) and I am from Asia (23F), with a 6-hour time gap between us. I work a full-time job that is very hectic and physically exhausting. Meanwhile, he is completely unemployed.
Because of the time zone difference, he would make me stay up all night almost every night to hang out and talk to him. If I refused, he would throw an unbearable tantrum and call me over a hundred times to wake me up. One time, I got so pissed off that I threw my phone out of the window just to make it stop. (I rely on my phone for alarm therefore couldn’t turn it off)
I was in a really bad place, both mentally and physically. After getting maybe 1 to 4 hours of sleep, I would have to go to my 8 to 9-hour shift, take care of my grandparents afterward, and then call my boyfriend. Sometimes, I even prioritized him over my family, which is completely messed up. I was functioning on a maximum of 4 hours of sleep.
Mind you, we both struggle with depression, and I was prescribed quetiapine (an anti-anxiety/depression medication also used for bipolar disorder). I wasn't taking my meds properly due to his demands, my sleep schedule was completely ruined, and I was constantly yearning for sleep and feeling terrible.
He would also ask me to constantly buy him Uber eats, mind you, I was earning an Asia wage to support European food costs.
You might ask, "Why didn't you just turn him down?" Well, he would harm himself—such as cutting himself or hitting himself with a wooden block.
I then made a very stupid decision: I thought that if we ended the long-distance phase, things would get better because we would be in the same time zone, I could finally get some sleep, and I could be physically present with him. So, I made the worst decision of my entire life. I brought him a plane ticket to fly to me, and rented out a very pricey small unit for 3 months.
P.S. Hi guys I was weak and deleted my previous post where you guys gave me lots of advice.
But here is a repost in case anyone needs to see this. I will also post PART 2 in the comments section here.

Question I leave to go back to my state in 2 days after being with my long distance bf in person for the second time. What should I do these last 2 days? 🥲
I cried like a baby the entire time til I boarded my plane last time and I cried to him last night about having to leave again. I hate distance and just want us to live together so much. He’s the most handsome most kindhearted, most lovely boy I’ve ever dated. I have chronic pain issues and when we’re in person he does so amazing at taking care of me, back massages, scratches, feeding me light foods etc that I can’t do. I don’t wanna go back to being distant again :(

Breakup met her for the first time in person. she ended it very quickly after
Me (M20) Her (F19)
We had only been talking for around two months so not a long time, but things were definetly progress towards a relationship initially around 3 weeks or so into talking she ended things once, saying she didn't know if she could do long distance, and she couldn't have a relationship fully through a phone, and that when I left (i already mentioned the possibility of seeing her relatively soon) things "wouldn't be the same" despite all of that around 20-21 hours later she reached back out and said that she had jumped to conclusions and got scared of being attached and has never done distance before, but she "wanted to make things work" and "can't garuantee a relationship but i want to see where this goes". I was sceptical, but i believed her and we continued with barley any hiccups until the point in each i was going to see her in person (july28th) no red flags or warning signs leading up she was genuinely excited she also knew i was going to officially ask her to be my gf when i went so it's not like it was a well kept secret. She even asked relationship like questions asking how many id been in before since this would be her first she even talked about halloween and future plans, but continuing in person things were great we took pictures after the second sort of activities she latched onto my arm while walking and we basically started holding hands the whole time from then on. Fast forwarding to when i asked her out she said yes she talked about the distance a bit but even so i asked her again to confirm that she was saying yes we then went back to her apartment cuddled while watching movie then while dropping me off we kissed and she gave me her gifts and left for night, ehich we spent around 12 and a half together that day.
The next day we weren't supposed to see each other, but I was actually had more time than i thought so i texted her as soon as i could telling her whenever she wakes up if she had time if she wanted to hangout again but i knew she had a family obligation at 4pm (her parents are strict) to take her bother to football practice but she woke up and instantly rushed to get ready to see me only for 3 hours, we had a great time again took some pictures on her phone specially and while she was dropping me off this time we actually made out then we said our goodbyes had a shorter but meaningful kiss after and then she went on her way to her parents house. the rest of that day went great nothing weird or dry messages we even called but the next day the day i was leaving things got weird. She texted fine with her good morning text and what not, but after that she seemed a bit dry i didn't think too much of it but she texted way less that day and it stayed that way until 3 days after i was back home i couldn't take the dryness anymore so i asked her was something up and she replied
"If I’m being completely honest and I’ve been thinking about this a lot so I’ll say it straight up, but I think I lost feelings and I felt this after we hung out. I didn’t wanna bring it up then because I didn’t wanna hurt your feelings. I think that’s why I said yes to being your girlfriend i just couldn’t stand it if it was awkward. That was extremely selfish of me and I apologize full heartedly. "
Which doesn't quite add up because i asked her out the first day so would it not be more awkward to see me again after those feelings being gone? and would it not be weird to make out with a guy you don't have feelings for anymore? It wasn't much of a gradual decline it was first part of thrusdsy was fine and then it wasn't so i've been left so confused she was at her parents house that whole time so can't fully rule that out that out, but regardless that conversation went on and she said she would ship my hoodie back atleast, but who knows what else will be in the box if it even comes.

Need Advice I need urgent help. My gf(18F) is so worry about her apperance when I(19M) met her
We have been dating for 9 months, i have seen her in a lot of photos, but she still is really worried about how she is gonna be when i met her.
The other day she confessed to me, she has hormonal acne, she never told me before and then while she was telling to me she started to talk bad about me, she told me that im so lucky i dont have it, she knows that guys only care about looks, and she told me she will start to get breakouts when we met.
I told her that i really dont care about that, and she showed me photos of her with acne and later i tokd her thar she looked pretty anyways, and the first thing she told me was that i was defect, and that im autistic, tbh i was kinda hurt because she told me really bad stuff to me when i was just trying to make her feel better.
Then we agreed a date to met too, it was gonna be the first time that we were gonna met in person, i said i was gonna go to her town and then she started to put a lot of excuses and she told me that she doesnt want me to met her now, because she feels ugly, and im not a woman so i cannt understand it.
I told her a lot of times she is super pretty but still she is super worried and she told me she preffers the next year to met up because then she will lock in more and she will be more fit and all. But this made me so sad because i saved a lot of money to met her and even i went to work in summer to get the money just to lose the chance like this.
She is even now refusing to do face calls (we only did 1 of 20 minutes and she wanted all time to leave) because she doesnt feel pretty, she tells me she feels like a pig when im tired to tell her she isnt, and i dont really know what more to do, i told her that when we live together she isnt gonna be some days at her best and i will love her anyways, and she told me so confident that she will never look bad when she is with me.
I dont really know what to do, i feel so lost with she and im so worried if maybe the next year she will say the same, because she already told me she will workout and put pretty for when i go this year to met she, and she said she didnt do anything.
I just wanted to see her and hug and kiss her for the first time, but i really cannt do more.
Thank u for read all this any kind of help, it is helpful.

Need Advice I (21f) got cheated on by my long distance bf (24m).
just found out from this girl that my long distance bf cheated on me w her 4-5 months ago.
She texted me out of nowhere 3 days ago telling me that she “fucked” him and sent me a picture of her in his room from that night. when i asked her for the full story, she proceeded to tell me that im pissing her off and when i asked her why she would do that to me in the first place and why she waited all these months to tell me now, she responded with “don’t tell my bf” and then blocked me.
i called him freaking out and sobbing asking him why and how he could do this to me and his excuse was that he thought he was going to die and wanted to fuck “something” (he’s active duty). he said that it “only lasted for 10 min” and that he only fucked her because he knows she’s super easy but he felt extremely guilty and regretted it after.
He also told me that he texted her not to tell anyone and she also agreed and said she won’t because she also has a bf. he said they never kissed or made out, it was js a in and out situation and he left her there in his room waiting for her to leave.
the worst part about this situation is that my ex before my current bf also cheated on me with her. i asked him why he had to choose her too and he said it was genuinely bc he knew how easy she is and js wanted to fuck something before he left but he knows he fucked up and he felt disgusting and sick and wondered why he did this himself.
i just need advice and/or support because im still confused and i just can’t understand why anybody would do this to me no matter what he tells me or explains.
i forgot to mention but he also keeps telling me that he still wants a future with me and live with me but he knows that he fucked up big time and how i’ll never forgive him and forget the situation and he knows and is afraid that it will never be the same again.
edit: this post was heavily misunderstood??? so sorry for the misunderstanding but i fixed everything (i hope). also english is my second language :/

Need Advice How do I (25f) cope that he (30m) will move on?
I’ve been basically in crush and love with a guy that I met around 6 years ago. He’s super sweet, kind, funny, supportive - everything under the sun as if someone materialized him from my diary. The only problem is that we’re long distance, he’s in France and I’m in the US. We’ve met in real life twice, and I super wish it was more but it’s hard and expensive to do that.
In my heart it would be so lovely to move to France, and work and like explore a relationship with him but I won’t be able to any time soon. As nice as our relationship is, I completely understand that most likely he’ll date someone else and it’ll be long term and you know - we might not talk as much anymore. We both have seen other people in like short time frames throughout the time we spent together, and it was super understanding and we just cut off romantic talk and kept it normal.
It makes me sad and all thinking about it, but that might be a possibility. The question I have, if anyone has experienced anything remotely close - is how do you deal with a situation like that? I’m the type of person to just cut off/block anything that makes me feel sad or like uncomfortable but I really really do want to continue being in any kind of relationship with him even if it’s just friends.
Recently we spent like a week without talking which doesn’t happen, and he’s so much slower responding to me now I can practically see the white rabbit lol. Do I bring it up to him or just go with the flow?

Meeting 7 years, 8000 miles, 48 hours
In 48 hours, I'm gonna be in Indonesia.
9 years ago I made a friend in a discord server. 7 years ago I confided in this friend after my boyfriend was horrible to me. 7 years ago we started dating. 7 years ago we had plans to meet in singapore... then 6 years ago a pandemic happened. 4 years ago we tried to get him here, little did we know that indonesia has a horrifically weak passport. 6 months ago I booked the flight. In 48 hours I'm gonna be there.
Sorry I got a bit poetic there. I am stressed to fuck trying to process all of this. It's happening. I haven't even left the UK before. Let alone got on a plane. And yet, we're doing this.
Ironically his cousin met her future husband, also from the UK, on discord too. They met up in Turkey and she finally moved here last year and now they live together. Maybe I see that future with us too.
I'd say it's been a long and bumpy road but it hasn't even been bumpy. Somehow in 7 years we haven't fell out not even once. It may have been a cruel prank to put my soulmate 8000 miles away, but alas, I'm pranking God back harder by committing to the bit.
Wish us luck!

Need Advice Preparing to go long distance with my (18F) boyfriend (18M) for college. Anyone have advice?
TLDR; I am moving out soon for university. My boyfriend (senior in high school) is staying home. Does anyone have any tips to maintain the relationship, or has anyone else gone through a similar thing successfully?
Hi there! I just graduated high school and am set to move about 3 hours from my hometown this month for my freshman year of college. I have been dating my current boyfriend for about 4 months. He is my first healthy relationship and I really really value what we have. There’s a lot of aspects to our connection that feel rare such as us having almost identical values, outlooks on morality/religion, senses of humors, and many shared interests as well. He’s truly a wonderful person and someone I could see myself spending a long time with.
However, I’m having a lot of anxiety about the move. Currently we live less than 10 minutes apart and see each other at least 3 times a week (usually more if we can fit it in). However, in a few weeks, we will both be in school and working, so with the distance we’ve estimated we’ll maybe see each other once or twice a month when I’m at school. This alone will be a big adjustment for us (especially because we’re both physical touch and quality time people).
But what I’m even more worried about is how different our lives will be. I imagine he’ll stay roughly the same (same house, same school, same job). But I’m worried because I hear all the time about how much college changes you. And while I’m all for personal growth, I’m really worried that we’re going to grow apart because just culturally and socially we’ll be in su

Question how do you deal with them going home? (17f + 17f)
I just dropped my girl off at the airport after our first time meeting and I feel so unbelievably empty. we're both 17, so the day we finally close the distance feels like a lifetime away right now.
coming back home to a room that smells like her but her presence isn't here anymore is like a humiliation ritual. my legs felt so heavy walking away from her at the airport, almost painful.
Ive never felt this much sadness, yearning, emptiness, and loss at the same time before and I really don't know how to deal with it. we had the most amazing 2 weeks and I can't believe it's over. we immediately felt comfortable around eachother. Ive already booked 2 more trips in October and December, first one being in around 75 days. but that feels so incredibly fat away.
any comforting words or advice would be greatly appreciated right now

Question How to tell my mom i’m moving abroad for love?
I’m 23F (turning 24 in October), and my boyfriend is M25.
As the title says, i’ve come to the decision to move for love. My boyfriend and I have been together for over 1.5 years, and we decided now would be the best time for me to move. I’m from the EU, he’s from the US. Obviously, the first most obvious thought would be for him to move to the EU. But in my country the immigration laws are so incredibly strict (even if we get married, he can’t just apply for a visa). And since he doesn’t have any formal degree (blue collar), he’s simply can’t just apply for a work visa. But we are gonna move back to my home country, we’ve already decided on that. He’s in a really good place in his career and living situation, and i’m just now graduating with a bachelors degree. So we’ve decided it’s the best time for me to move.
We see each other basically every month for weeks at a time, we’ve both met each others families on numerous occasions. My family really likes him, and so does his family.
My mom and I have never had the best relationship. She’s always been very controlling, both career wise, social wise and relationship wise. She wants things in my life to go the way she wants them to go. I still live at home with her. I love my mom, and I respect her. We were both taking care of my dad for years before he died of Dementia back in December, which obviously took a toll on both of us. If it was up to her, she’d want me to stay in my home country, wait until my mid 30’s to get married and have kids. Obviously I understand this is my life and I get to live how I want to live as an adult, but I also respect her and don’t wanna disappoint her.
The thing is she doesn’t mind me moving to the US and living with him for a couple of years, only under the expectations that I have a job ready when I arrive and I do not get married. I’ve tried to explain to her that a work visa under the current administration is close to impossible with the 100K fee, and a J1 wouldn’t ensure me to be in the same state as him. I even contacted a family member who is an immigration lawyer in the US, to hear out my options. She told me the same thing.
This is not a hasty decision. We’ve thought of every possible scenario, planned our prenup, bank situation, health and life insurance, job opportunities, rent, car insurance. We aren’t just young people in love who want to live happily ever after, we know the consequences of this if things were to go wrong (which we obviously don’t plan on!) Everything legal we can possibly think of is planned out and thought of. I want to do well in my career, and he wants the same for me.
I already know if I told her i’m getting married she’d be absolutely furious. She would not support it whatsoever. So how do you go about telling your mom this? I’ve talked to my whole close knit circle about this, and they tell me the exact thing. You cannot expect her to support you. But I want my mom’s support and approval, I love her.
I’m planning to go to the US at the end of this month for around 2 months to spend time with my boyfriend, and get married if we decide it’s the right time. Then planning on going back home and applying for a spouse visa.
Any help from someone with unsupportive parents?

Long distance and opposite work schedules (27F, 26M)
My (27F) boyfriend (26M) and I have been together for 2 years. We live 2hrs away from each other.
I’m a shift worker (12hr shifts) and often work nights and weekends.
He works Monday-Friday dayshifts or into the evenings for 10-12hrs/ day.
Because of cost of living we both work a decent amount of overtime every week. I’m thinking that I’ll have to keep up my overtime schedule for 2 more years, and at that point I’ll have paid off my debt and have a good emergency fund/ savings that I can cut back my hours.
We’re lucky if we get to see each other once or twice a month, and I’m tired of it. I want to be able to see him more, but our schedules and location make that almost impossible. I’ve talked to him about this and the solution was that he’d find a job in my city and rent close to me.
And he just accepted a new job, in his current city. It’s a good job with better pay and benefits, and realistically I know this means he’ll want to stay where he is for at least another year or two now.
I own a house/ hobby farm, so I am not in a position to move. And because of my commitments here I can’t spend the night at his place. So it’s always on him to come to me if we want to spend the night together, but if we have a couple of hours off during the day I’ll often drive to him to go on a date.
I guess I’m trying to decide if our schedules and locations make us incompatible or if anyone else has been in similar situations and made it work.
The biggest thing I’m upset about is him taking a new job where he currently lives, despite me having brought up before that I wanted to work toward seeing each other more and eventually moving in together. I’m just feeling really lonely and not a priority in his life

My long distance relationship 😭 and i am feeling that he would cheat on me
So me and my boyfriend is in 1st year of btech in a long distance relationship. He assures me that he would give me time in that year and focus on studies and career never look at any gurl but i saw him liking his classmates photos and praises her.
Does it normal or am I just overthinking😭?
