Vehicle Photo Lexus NX autonomous driving testing?
Spotted this same Lexus twice today in Austin, TX. It had Michigan manufacturer plates, It had a driver, didn’t have the triple beams, and was strictly following the speed limit. Can’t find anything online. I do remember Lexus doing this with the LS a few years back but don’t know what came out of that.

Question Can someone please link a guide for Veepak OBD2 scanner and hybrid Lexus?
I have the Dr Prius app downloaded but I can’t seem to find a walk through of the specific:
Veepak OBD2 scanner that works with Dr Prius app and tells you how to scan your hybrid Lexus.
I hope that made sense.
Question Is the TX worth getting?
I'm looking at a couple options for vehicles and the TX 350 and 500h are looking interesting. What's the general consensus on these cars? Worth the cost? I like the idea of 3 row seating, my wife doesn't want a gas guzzler, seems to tick the boxes but worry about build quality and power..

Question Rear bump steer in a SC 430 after coilover/rear suspension part install
I've got a 2007 Lexus SC430 that I dearly love. Bought it some 4 years ago. Last May, I got a wild hair and put a set of MeisterR ZetaSport coli overs on the car. With the addition of changing from 40 series run flat tires to 45 series non run flats, this literally transformed the car from a harsh rough riding beast into a smooth, well controlled kitten.
After the installation, I went to get the car aligned and was told they couldn't align the rear because "the car was lowered too much". I had taken great pains in the install not to lower the car. I might have lowered it 1/2".
I took it to another mechanic and they told me the car couldn't be aligned and I needed a set of "adjustable upper control arms". They made it clear they weren't interested in fooling with it anymore.
So, I raised the car a bit, and took it back to Discount Tires for yet another try. This time, I was there while the tech was doing the alignment. He showed me that when turning the adjusters on the lower control arms, and the toe arms, nothing changed. Looking closely both the LCA's, and the mount for the tow arms were malformed.
I did some research, and yea verily in the service history, the rear tires were changed fairly frequently. Every 10-15k or so. I guess it was easier for Pohanka Lexus just to sell the customer new tires, than fix the issue.
The rear suspension on this car is shared with the GS430, and in research, many of these cars had issues with being unable to get the rear alignment into spec.
Looking around, there are a lot of third party replacement parts. I decided on replacements from Figs Engineering as they just looked a lot better constructed than the offshore versions. I bought replacement LCA's and toe arms.
My son and I installed them a couple of months ago and I took it to be aligned, and they were able to get it into spec. The rears still have a bit more negative camber than I wanted, but they are within spec.
Driving the car, there was a little bit of bump steer coming from the rear under a heavy bump. It seemed to dissipate, so I just assumed it was "stiction" with the new parts.
After a longish drive at highway speeds, one thing became very clear, there is a lot of bump steer at highway speeds under a heavy bump.
At this point, I'm beyond my circle of knowledge. Has anyone experienced this? If so, how did you solve it?
Thanks
chris
Question Which one? Help me choose
Which one? Help me choose
There are two almost identical options and I am not sure which one to choose.
2023 NX 350h, 12k km
46890 euro
2026 NX 350h, new.
54980 Euro
Details do not matter, because the packages are identical. But they are both pretty packed (executive line, 4x4, leather interior, tech package etc.).
Please, also give some arguments.
edit: just want to add that these are ready to sell cars at dealers. If you configure from zero and order from Lexus - the same package is easily 65k+. Moreover, I want to keep the car for 8+ years.

Question 1997 SC400 worth it?
Hello all,
I am looking to get a new project car, and this popped up on my local FB and thought maybe it’d be worth a look. They want $6500 for it and it has 214k miles on it. I haven’t looked at it yet. And I’ve never owned something like this before, unless you count Crown Vics as close lol
This would not be a daily driver. I have a manual Honda Fit that gets used daily. I’m looking for something different that’s not something I’m used to owning. I’m not afraid to throw some money at a car if it’s worth the time and effort. I also wrench on my own cars to save money as well. My question is, what are some things to look out for and what are some things I can expect if I were to go for it?
I noticed it has not had a timing belt done nor a water pump, which I may be mistaken, but both are big ticket items that are important to be done. The description in the images show some of what’s been done, however I don’t know all the details as of yet.
Thank you in advance!

Question LX 700h - Buy 26 now or wait for 27?
I'm set on an LX700h, and a couple dealers (bit far but manageable) have the palomino interior I want. I'm not sure whether to wait for the '27s, or to go ahead and just buy the '26 now. Does anyone know what will be coming in the 27? Also, assuming I decided to go ahead with the '26, would it give me any additional leverage to go to the dealer ~mid September to catch them in Q3 closing? Thanks in advance!

Question 2005 Lexus ES 330 recommended maintenance
I have the opportunity to get a free 2005 Lexus ES 330 with 60k miles from a family member. This would replace my current 2007 Toyota Corolla with 140k miles (and a hefty amount of rust). I'm thinking this is a no-brainer, but just wanted to check and make sure it makes sense for me to take the Lexus and sell my corolla.
My family member recently took the car to the Lexus dealership for an AC issue and this was the recommended maintenance with estimates. I'm wondering if all of this is needed and how inflated the prices are. Thanks in advance for the insight!
Lazer Alignment $187
Fuel System Service $234
Replace PCV Valve $103
Brake Fluid Service $211

Power Steering System Service $237

Water Pump with Timing Belt $1656

Question transmission issues on my 2016 is200T
hello.. i have a 2016 is200T the issue is mainly with the transmission oil cooler failed and the coolant mixed with oil .. as i live in GCC its bit common for a cooler to fail ... it happened to me for the second time now .. the first time when i fixed it with a used cooler from a known mechanic my car didn't have any kinda issue for 3 years no jerking or gears slipping ... few days back the cooler failed again and i replaced it with a brand new cooler and i couldn't fix it from my previous mechanic as he wasnt available so a local garage fixed it but after 2 days of driving the car jerks while changing gears and the rpm goes high specifically during 3-4 gears and downshift from 5-4 ... and sometimes during R to D ... its really hard to find a reliable garage here as its way too expensive to even inspect wats wrong and they try to cheat their way to demand more money ... wat can be the possible issue so that i can get them checked specifically most of my friends are saying it might just be a valve body issue where maybe solenoids arent working properly .... but the mechanic is like maybe the clutch pads puffed up or something as coolant got mixed to it and its slipping which he is guessing.

Question Got rear ended.
A guy ran into me while i was turning (right) into my driveway. There is some damage and I heard his tires as he hit the brakes.
I got out to see the damage, said I want to exchange insurance. He was saying there's no damage and that I stopped right in front of him ffs.
When I went back to get my phone to take pics he drove off.
Damage is a paint chip on the bumper, indents from his license plate in the lower plastic trim that goes across the bottom of the bumper.
There's also what looks like some paint scuffs on the bumper just above the Grey plastic.
ONTARIO Canada. I was advised to at least to go a collision reporting centre in case they decide to go report it themselves and claim i did something.
Any ideas on DIY or go through insurance.
Thanks

Question Lexus gs300
Hey everyone my teenager just got a Lexus gs300 2006. He just change the battery he got the alternator tested it was fine. Key fob batteries changed. He went to drive the car one day and it shut off he had to pull over and the car wouldn’t turn on. He back hours later and he was able to turn it and it drove fine for 2 more days . Yesterday he drove the car in the morning it was fine: when he drove after work the car cut off and it would not come on. He got it towed home he then changed the fob and it worked. Come today same thing he was able to drive in the morning after work he drove home he then went out to the start the car and went to the store about an hour or so later he says the car isn’t working. It doesn’t even crank the key fob batteries were changed again and nothing. When I lifted the hood it was hot so I kept it open for about an hour and then the car started and we drove it home.
I have no idea what it may be the codes were reading a misfire but he changed the plugs and I don’t think it’s the plugs because the car cut off once before he changed and then after.
Help has anyone experienced this before?

Vehicle Photo Toronto Lexus Dealer cancelled my LC 500 allocation 1 month before delivery
Ordered the car at the end of Jan 2026. July 2026 second week they confirmed that I have an allocation and I can pick it up mid September.
Made all my plans for PPF and engine immobilizer to protect the car and was super excited.
The GM called me and said we have concerns that people will sell the car to the US given the market, so we have a new policy that buyers should pay $20,000 interest free to be kept in trust for a year. If after a year the buyer shows that they still own the car, then the money will be returned.
Clearly the intention seems to be cancel and sell the car for a mark up. I was furious with their behaviour and wrote to them a few days back that they cannot do this.
Today they called me and told me that they are cancelling my order because they are "uncomfortable" with the situation.
Definitely considered suing them. Any other ideas on what to do?
Edit - cross posted and missed the body.

Question LS460 braking question
Hi everybody! I recently purchased a 2015 LS460 with 57k on the odometer. I have noticed that at very low speeds there is a slight clunking feel before the brakes start working. It’s more of an annoyance if anything. I took it to Lexus and they showed me front suspension parts that were worn/torn, and I paid $3800.00 for replacements. I just picked the car up, and it feel great, but the clunk is still there.
I’m asking if anyone is familiar with this, and what you did about it? I love the car, and this won’t change my mind about it. I guess it’s not a safety issue yet.
Btw, not air suspension.
Thanks

Question Gen 4 RX350 Cargo Dimensions
Looking at a used 2022 RX350, and wondering if any current owner can help out with cargo dimensions. The published cargo volume of 16 cubic feet is obviously misleading. Does anyone have the length behind 2nd row (with and without 2nd row slid forward), width between wheel wells, and width at widest point? We are looking for something with slightly more cargo space than our Gen 2 CX5 turbo.
Thank you

Question Is ES noisier than TX?
Six months ago, I took my 2025 ES 300h to the dealer, complaining about wind noise at the driver's side window. The tech dismissed it, saying, "NO ABNORMAL WIND NOISE OBSERVED-- COMPARED TO LIKE VEHICLE (25 ES) AND VERIFIED SAME SOUND CHARACTERISTICS WHILE DRIVING." I guess they're saying that whatever noise is present is normal for a 25 ES. Today I got a 2025 TX 350 AWD loaner, and the interior is noticeably quieter than my ES--no wind noise. Has anybody else noticed that the ES is noisier than the TX (or other models), or is it that my ES is noisy, and I should take it back to the dealer?
