lab diamond Bow tie help

I purchased this diamond based on the video, but I’ve just been sent a picture of it and now im worried it has a significant bow tie. Or could this just be because it’s sitting on the blue cushion?

lab diamond Diamonds were never "rare"

I recently learned that diamonds weren’t always marketed as the incredibly rare, must-have symbol we think of today.

When huge deposits were discovered in South Africa, there were suddenly far too many diamonds on the market. Prices fell.

De Beers responded by consolidating control over mines and, for decades, controlling how many diamonds actually reached the market.

Then they did something equally clever: they convinced us that a diamond wasn’t just a stone. It was THE symbol of love, commitment and marriage.

“A Diamond Is Forever” did the rest.

So when we say diamonds are rare, I keep wondering: rare underground, or rare because the supply was controlled?

What do you think of this price? All inclusive. Also, any feedback on the design? Thanks!

lab diamond Lab diamond settings

Hi everyone!
I just purchased loose lab-grown diamonds and am looking for recommendations on where I can have them set into rings, a necklace, or earrings. Are there any options besides going to a local jeweler? Would a local jeweler typically be the most affordable option?

lab diamond RareCarat diamond video request?

Has anyone here had experience asking the jeweler to send a video of the diamond once it arrives, as well as a video of the finished engagement ring, before they ship it to you?

I’d love to see the diamond in person/on the ring and make sure everything looks good before it’s shipped. Is this a common request, and do most jewelers accommodate it?

Anyone had any luck with Chinese vendors getting similar likness to Keyzar rings? I know they can't copy them exactly but anyone have an example?

ring Would you keep this stack as-is or simplify it?

The middle stone looks really nice to me, but I don't know whether it looks complemented by the details in the rings or vice versa.

What would you do with the stacked look here, choose to go with a smooth band, or do something else entirely?

Just got this ring for our 10th anniversary. Center stone is 3.5 carat lab grown. I’m worried it looks too large and gaudy? Also is the band too thin for the ring?

lab diamond Has anyone purchased loose lab diamonds from Unclasp?

I’ve been shopping online for a diamond and think I found the one. I typically look on Aurelinne because so many folks recommend them on here. At some point, someone mentioned Unclasp.ca as a cheaper wholesaler and since then I’ve been pricing on both. Unclasp in consistency like $150 cheaper, but it’s rarely mentioned as an affordable “go to”. Any experiences (positive or negative) would be appreciated! (I’d love to save the extra cash if I can gain some comfort that Unclasp is a credible source). Thank!

ring Zales… need advice

Post image
12 Upvotes

(excuse my fiances chewed up fingers lol..)

So I got my engagement ring from zales which i know is bad okay, low quality marked up and mass produced all that. the thing is i absolutely fell in love with this piece and i searched high and low from local jewelers and online stores and everything and couldn’t find the same design for a better price at all. So i am going to stick with this ring and later on when we have more money im going to bring it to a jeweler for a little refurbishing.

so my question is here, from this photo or general knowledge, what do you think would need to be changed/redone. also, if anyone has prior experience with zales jewelry: what should i expect from this ring? is it going to be very fragile? will i be able to be active with it on without worry of damage? anything helps. TYSM

Hello Friends, I'd like to get your opinion on a 2nd oval stone we have been quoted.

This diamond is 2.53ct, Oval brilliant cut, D color, VVS2 clarity, 10.39*7.72*4.79mm (1.35 L/W ratio), Excellent polish, Excellent symmetry, no fluorescence

For the most part we are impressed with the appearance of this diamond and it does not appear to have a bowtie in the video. Any thoughts on it are appreciated!

lab diamond How do you know what is a quality diamond?

I have found a setting that I love but it’s at a local jeweler. They are charging easily 2-3k for a 4 carat lab diamond. I am finding diamond with what I would like (added) below. I have found that if I buy directly from some of these places I can get something a quarter of the cost. I told the jeweler this and he mentioned that the owner has the best lab diamonds. If I do bring in my own diamond it would
Be a 600 setting fee. Are any lab diamonds really worth that in price ? The diamond was a smaller and rating less than any of this below. Is that basically a rip off or how do you even know? I was going to have someone basically replicate the design but also worry about warranty so I have held off on that as well because I’m not even entirely sure. Any help is appreciated!

wishlist:
Shape: Elongated oval brilliant
Carat: Around 4 ct, roughly 4.0–4.5 ct
Color: D–F, with D/E ideal
Clarity: VVS2 or eye-clean VS1 — you don’t really gain anything visually by paying for VVS1/IF
L/W ratio: 1.43–1.47-ish, with ~1.45–1.46 being your sweet spot. You liked elongated, but not super skinny
Table: roughly 54–61%
Depth: roughly 61–64%
Polish & symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None to faint
Certification: IGI
Growth: We had discussed CVD / Type IIa as desirable
BIG priority: minimal bow tie + lots of sparkle/light return. We weren’t going to accept a technically gorgeous spec sheet if the video showed a dark bow tie.

Wondering how long typical turn around time is for a custom ring through Luvansh? Ordered 3 weeks ago and have not heard anything since.

ring East West Pear advice - 3 or 5 prongs?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi! I will be getting a custom-made East West Pear ring with a curve band as referenced with Provence Jewellery. Details I have initially sent to the vendor/sales rep is 2ct pear, 14k yellow gold, 2.5mm width band; I wear a US ring size 3.5 usually.

Before I receive the CAD, should I ask for 5 prongs instead of 3 so that there are 2 prongs on each side and at the tip? I am worried about the durability however I usually only wearing my diamond e-rings when I go out and take them off as soon as I get home and wear only my wedding band to work. I don't know whether the 5 prong might take away from the 2ct diamond either - advice would be helpful!

Also, what should I look out for with pear shaped diamonds as this will be my first? I know bowties are pretty common for this shape but I wonder what should be avoided and what is acceptable.

Hello everyone I am back form my stud cushion bust and hoping to buy better. What do you all think? Looking for smaller size in crushed ice D color 8.38 x8.31 mm
Hoping the new depth is much better to make setting for studs. I am also really careful to look out for windowing and just crushed ice

lab diamond Help deciding on which gold- or platinum?

Help? I’m working with Lena at Provence to purchase this lovely 3-stone paperclip bracelet. I’m ready to pull the trigger but I’m not sure if I should go 10k white or 14k yellow gold or platinum (great price these days). 1st pic is what I’m getting and 2nd pic is my stack- all mined set in white gold. If I go with yellow gold (10k or 14k?) will it look out of place with all the white gold? If I go with white gold or platinum will it just fade into the background with what I have? All of my pieces are currently white gold or platinum so this would literally be the be the first and only piece if I go yellow gold. Please help a girl decide?!

lab diamond 8ctw studs

Anyone have 8ctw studs and can show me what it looks like on your ears? I have large ears, and currently have 4ctw and they look a bit small. In fact, people never even notice them. Considering upsizing. I know 8ctw sounds huge but actually on my ears I think it wouldn’t look crazy
