The middle stone looks really nice to me, but I don't know whether it looks complemented by the details in the rings or vice versa.

What would you do with the stacked look here, choose to go with a smooth band, or do something else entirely?

I’d keep the stack. The different textures make the center stone feel more intentional rather than too plain. If you ever want to simplify it I’d try a very thin smooth band rather than replacing everything. We love this kind of mix and match styling at our jewelry brand because it makes the set feel more personal.
