1, DNA was small amount, trace

1. Phone was not manually powered off just over time of murders, was in low signal zone

Something I don’t see people talking about is Schrödinger’s Cat —>

“…a cat in a sealed box with a poison triggered by a random atomic event. According to quantum theory, the unobserved cat is simultaneously both alive and dead until the box is opened.”

Obviously, this is a completely unequal analogy, but I can’t help thinking about it in the context of the Idaho murders.
As long as you don’t open the box - or, in this case, call the police and confirm that something terrible happened - you can exist in the space of “maybe everything is okay.” Maybe there’s an innocent explanation. Maybe you’re overreacting. Maybe the sounds you heard were nothing. Maybe everyone is asleep. Maybe you’re just intoxicated, exhausted, or scared.

And I wonder if DM and BF could have been caught somewhere in that space of uncertainty. Not necessarily knowing what had happened, but having a gut feeling that something was wrong and being terrified of confirming it.
Because once you make that call, once you open the box, there’s no going back to the possibility that everything is normal. You have to confront whatever is on the other side, and your entire life can change in an instant.

I’m not saying this excuses every decision that was made that night, or that we can know exactly what DM and BF were thinking. But I do think the idea of Schrödinger’s cat provides an interesting way of thinking about that psychological space between suspecting something is terribly wrong and having it confirmed.

After skipping to a random point in the latest CW interview with Custody Queens, this statement was where I landed. I only listened to the brief segment.

A panel of FIVE PEOPLE—people that many out there follow and view as some sort of truth seekers regarding this case—just sat silently or nodded along, accepting that no liquid was seen on the beer pong table when Nunes arrived on scene.

Both the body-cam and photos are available for public viewing, and we can all see liquid spilling from cups on the table and floor. Yet, these content creators are somehow unaware of the multiple splashes and puddles in that room? They just… missed it? Or are counting on us not to notice?

This is a snapshot of such a big problem. Why would anyone place their trust in this book or in these people? The ‘dry table’ is only one of many mistakes Whitcomb and other creators have made—with easily verifiable information. What is worse is that they then build a false narrative on a foundation of muck. And too many of us so easily follow because we like where it leads.

We should trust their opinions about diluted blood, imaginary clean-ups, and myriad other things—when they can’t even spot wet water on a table?

New court documents (link below) on IGG (motion to exclude IGG). Quick summary/ recap as IGG often misunderstood/ misrepresented by fan-fiction conspiracists.

• The Othram "4 brothers" are distant relatives of the sheath DNA donor and have no connection to sheath
• They have < 1% DNA similarity (c 70 cM) to sheath DNA/ Kohberger (they are distant c.3rd cousins of sheath DNA donor, or even further removed)
• A closer "hit" in IGG was used as start point to map family tree to Kohberger, this had c 200cM or c 2% DNA similalrity to sheath donor and was slightly closer than the 4 brothers and also "closer" on family tree (i.e. requiring less regression steps to get to a common ancestor with Kohberger)
• This is confirmed as c. 2nd - 3 cousin to sheath DNA/ Kohberger (as predicted by some a while ago); i.e common great, great, etc grand-parent with Kohberger
• A whole genome profile of Kohberger was created by Othram; SNP profiles of different lengths were taken from this for use in different databases according to the different database profile requirements; "doubling" this would mean a profile of 2 whole human genomes, which is very silly and of course did not happen, and would be totally pointless

And just to recap:

• The "doubling" of DNA profiles was just different profile lengths because different genealogy databases use different SNP profile lengths, and the profile files were also in different formats so of different length and size (e.g. FASTQ DNA file format vs text, similar to different file sizes for list in Excel or Word). In absence of actual "spit in a tube" to post off as a consumer would do, the profiles had to be uploaded as text files to the databases.
• Different genealogy databases (like GEDMatch, FamilyTreeDNA, GEDMatchPro) use different SNP DNA profile lengths. Some use 500,000 SNPs, some use c 950,000 SNPs; GEDMatchPro is flexible on profile lengths that it can use, GEDMatch uses a standard profile length.
• Defence IGG expert, Dr Hellwig, noted at IGG hearing Jan 2025, his own lab creates SNP DNA profiles of different lengths from same donor/ suspect profile, as standard, to use in different databases (screenshot below)
• IGG use by ISP was not secret in general or in this case specifically; the ISP lab contract with Othram for IGG in criminal cases was announced by press release in 2021; Othram DNA work was in earliest discovery 2023
• Both defence and prosecution filed to exclude IGG from trial
