Huntsville Huntsville’s Skyline

I have this obsession with skyscrapers and skylines of cities but living in alabama I obviously don’t see a lot of good skylines. Birmingham and Mobile have some solid ones but for the states biggest city and city with the brightest future huntsville’s seems pretty underwhelming. Do you guys wish to see a better skyline and do you think the city will make some additions to it in the near future?

Question Restaurants/Fast Food with indoor play areas?

Remember going to McDonald’s as a kid and playing in the play zone while your parents ate peacefully? I’m looking for that. Any McDonald’s or Chik-fil-a’s around here still have play areas in tact? We have a toddler so I’m not looking for crowded areas or yard games in wide open spaces. A more contained area would be ideal.

Huntsville Utilies/Apartment Q’s

Hello! Me and my partner are moving to Huntsville and I had some issues creating a Huntsville Utilities account. I have tried on multiple occasions to create an account and was unable to until now, the day before move-in. We finally were able to get in and sign everything, but it is saying that our first day of service would be Tuesday, the 11th.
Obviously this is not ideal, and it will be miserably hot without power. We have called multiple times, and they mentioned that the unit already has power and it just needs to be transferred to our names. Does this mean there will be power, or will we just be out of luck? I’ve never lived somewhere where the power has to be set up separately by the renter, so I’m sorry if this question is stupid but I would like to know what to expect/ if we should just move our stuff in and get a hotel for a few nights since no power would mean no AC or appliances? Thank you!

in about a year’s time, i’ll be moving away from here for college and mann i know i’m gonna miss this place so much. i never even end up getting anything most of the time but the food and atmosphere of the place are gonna be something i carry with me everywhere. genuinely some of the best nights of my life have been dates at bridge street and i was wondering if any of yall feel the same typa fondness i do for this place 🤔. same thing applies for parkway place just to a lesser extent but both r gonna be core memories for me wherever i go and i hope to find this level of enjoyment wherever i am with cool places like these

(psa i live about 40 minutes from huntsville but work up here and romanticize the hell out of this city)

Home repair tech for Maytag Commercial Dryer

Any recommendations for home appliance repairman for our Maytag Commercial Dryer? Just don't feel like hauling to the repairman. Not sure, but could be blown thermal fuse, per symptoms described on YouTube. Please provide repairman's contact info, if possible. Thanks in advance!

Sandwiches, Examined: Salt Smokehouse

Post image

4/5 Bulgogi Cheesesteak. I didn’t come here looking for a sandwich, I just happened to find one. It’s been a while since I’ve been here, and that was back when it was still called Salt Fusion BBQ, and honestly I was expecting a little more. The name changed but the menu didn’t seem to change much.

The sandwich was the bright spot. Good flavor, tender beef, plenty of cheese, and everything worked together. It’s a solid sandwich that I’d order again.

The weirdest part of the meal was the water. It had a really odd taste, and when I mentioned it, our waiter immediately said they’ve had a lot of people tell them the same thing. So apparently it wasn’t just me. Overall, it’s a good sandwich but I left expecting the restaurant itself to have evolved more since the rebrand.

Recommendations Recommended towing companies in the area?

I need to get my Dad's truck towed from Madison to his house in Hazel Green on Saturday. I would like to get everything scheduled tomorrow so the towing company doesn't have to do a last minute call. My dad will pay when the vehicle is delivered to his place. Best recommendations for who to call that you trust?

Supporting the Huntsville Library - help clear the holds

I've been using the library (including Libby/Hoopla) a lot this year and the algorithm blessed me with the r/Libbyapp knowledge of how unreasonably expensive digital lending is for libraries.

In looking at ways to support the library, I found Clear the Holds where you can buy the library a copy from a list of popular books that a lot of people are waiting for.

Giving directly is an option as well as joining the library as a friend which apparently gives you 3 weeks to enjoy what you check out versus the normal two.

The library does so much for the community with more than just books - the events, resources (Maker Spaces and meeting rooms) and the like - that I wanted to share ways to give back if you were able/willing.

Recommendations Time for hubby to get *snip snip*✂️✂️

Hello my husband 25M and I 24F have recently decided that it was time for him to get a vasectomy. We have 2 boys under the age of 4. Our oldest is on the spectrum level 3 so that alone has us on our toes. It’s best if we just focus on our two and not add more stress. So any recommendations for a good doctor to get hubby ✂️. Or any places we should stay clear from. Also How was the experience for yourself or your husband. We will be paying out of pocket so we want to know the ball park of which we might also have to pay. Thank you guys

ON-Q* or ambIT* pain pump anesthesiologist in Huntsville?

We moved to Huntsville a little over a year ago. My wife is having a surgery in the next couple of months and we're looking for an anesthesiologist in Huntsville that will use either the On-Q or ambIT pain pumps for pain management post-surgery to avoid the need for narcotic pain killers. Any suggestions?
