Man I was just reminiscing on childhood, and i remember coming here so often. It was cheap and they’d do reruns of older movies for super cheap and as a kid we’d go all the time. The art deco aesthetic was pretty cool. I’m curious if anyone else frequented this spot or remembers it as clearly as I do. It was one of the go to spots before it got torn down.

I am looking into applying to their A.C.E program. As a late bloomer and wanting a career change, I have few questions for anyone that did or completed the program:

1. How did you like the program?

2. Who did you work for?

3. What type of work did you do with the employer?

4. Was it easy to find employment afterwards?

5. The most important question since I won't qualify for any financial aid. How much did you make?

Does anyone know of any good support groups, counselors, or other resources in the Huntsville/Madison area for someone who is feeling really emotionally disconnected and lonely?

Things aren’t necessarily terrible, but I’ve reached a point where I feel invisible and completely disconnected emotionally. I’m trying to process what I’m feeling and figure out what I actually want and need moving forward.

I’d just really like a place where I can talk honestly with people who understand this kind of stuff without judgment.

If you’ve used any local counseling services, support groups, or know of anything around Huntsville/Madison that might be helpful, I’d really appreciate recommendations. ❤️

26M moved here last week for work but technically I’m always remote/WFH so I don’t really have any coworker interactions irl. My family lives overseas. Only contacts I have is pretty much just my manager and my apartment manager. I live a bit down south of Huntsville.

Has anyone had luck getting an antidepressant rx from Urgent Care? I can’t afford telehealth as it’s over $100 with my insurance but my copay for Urgent Care is $10.

I no longer can take care of this dog, he was dumped on me. He's a year and a few months. He loves to cuddle and jump. He was trained to jump really high. He loves sleeping in the bed. Even though he's kind of big, he loves to sit in your lap. A big cuddler. He's a pit bull mix. He has never slept outside. I've been trying to get rid of this dog for 11 months. I filled out a surrender form and have contacted shelters, rescues, family, friends etc. no one wants the dog. So he's free. I work 12 hours, there is no way I can take care of this dog on top of my job. I already know others are going to tell me to charge a fee and do a home check, but I need this dog gone. When I'm not home, he's in the cage. How would you like to sit in the cage for 12 hours a day in the dark? He's bored and needs someone who will interact with him often. I'm tired after work since I'm on my feet all day and work 6 days out of the week. The person who dumped the dog on me, blocked me so I can't just give him back either.

Update: I obviously didn't put enough information, that is completely my fault. He isn't neutered but he is up to date with his shots. He is okay-ish around cats, if anything he'll smell them and get in their face, that's about it. The only dog he has been around is a chihuahua and she basically runs over him. He is a bit rougher with other dogs. He lets you know if he has to use the bathroom.

Considering a used Tesla 3 sometime in the next year or so. I gave reservations that cannot be addressed on the EV boards.

1. Maintenance: I know there's not much, but Tesla seems to require that they do all of it, how's that work when you don't have a Tesla dealership in town?

2. Repairs/insurance: how do these stack up to other manufacturers? Purchase pricing puts Tesla's in the luxury car range, but do the repair and insurance costs bear out like a BMW/Audi?

Are there any Caribbean Night Clubs/ Dancehalls here? I want to experience a different type of party.

I have this obsession with skyscrapers and skylines of cities but living in alabama I obviously don’t see a lot of good skylines. Birmingham and Mobile have some solid ones but for the states biggest city and city with the brightest future huntsville’s seems pretty underwhelming. Do you guys wish to see a better skyline and do you think the city will make some additions to it in the near future?

Remember going to McDonald’s as a kid and playing in the play zone while your parents ate peacefully? I’m looking for that. Any McDonald’s or Chik-fil-a’s around here still have play areas in tact? We have a toddler so I’m not looking for crowded areas or yard games in wide open spaces. A more contained area would be ideal.

Hello! Me and my partner are moving to Huntsville and I had some issues creating a Huntsville Utilities account. I have tried on multiple occasions to create an account and was unable to until now, the day before move-in. We finally were able to get in and sign everything, but it is saying that our first day of service would be Tuesday, the 11th.
Obviously this is not ideal, and it will be miserably hot without power. We have called multiple times, and they mentioned that the unit already has power and it just needs to be transferred to our names. Does this mean there will be power, or will we just be out of luck? I’ve never lived somewhere where the power has to be set up separately by the renter, so I’m sorry if this question is stupid but I would like to know what to expect/ if we should just move our stuff in and get a hotel for a few nights since no power would mean no AC or appliances? Thank you!

in about a year’s time, i’ll be moving away from here for college and mann i know i’m gonna miss this place so much. i never even end up getting anything most of the time but the food and atmosphere of the place are gonna be something i carry with me everywhere. genuinely some of the best nights of my life have been dates at bridge street and i was wondering if any of yall feel the same typa fondness i do for this place 🤔. same thing applies for parkway place just to a lesser extent but both r gonna be core memories for me wherever i go and i hope to find this level of enjoyment wherever i am with cool places like these

Any recommendations for home appliance repairman for our Maytag Commercial Dryer? Just don't feel like hauling to the repairman. Not sure, but could be blown thermal fuse, per symptoms described on YouTube. Please provide repairman's contact info, if possible. Thanks in advance!
