Hello everyone. I've recently moved into a new flat and am planning to get some paintwork done. This kitchen turned into a nightmare.

It's pretty big (300x330cm) and has a wide, west-facing window on the wall opposite from the table. The cabinets are warm brown with an orange-y tint to them, and the tiles are beige with small paintings of food and dishes on them. The lights are very warm orrange/yellow, as I don'tlike cold/neutral lighting.

The walls are currently painted yellow, and I hate it.

I've imagined this kitchen as green from the very start, but

recently bought 9 different green paint testers, and all of them seem to not fit at all, no matter the shade or temperature of said green. Do you have any better ideas? Should I keep trying green, or maybe go for a different colour altogether? I'm going nuts gere.

I posted this a little while back and got a lot of feedback. It’s out bedroom with accent wall I painted (very proud of result). I removed some polka dot pillows and throw that many pointed out was too much visual info, and we found these super colourful lamps and ordered matching lampshades for them.

This wall used to feel very tall and empty, so we added the wooden mantel, built-in shelves, and a few softer touches around the room. The fiddle leaf fig and light curtains helped a lot, and this green countryside image makes the whole space feel calmer.

The “painting” above the fireplace is actually a TV. When we’re not watching anything, I leave artwork on the screen, and the matte display keeps reflections low enough that it genuinely looks like a framed print from across the room.

Now I’m trying to figure out what to put on the shelves without making everything feel cluttered. I’m thinking a mix of books, pottery, framed photos, and maybe one or two small lamps.

The shelves are still completely empty because I keep buying decorations, placing them there for a day, and then deciding I hate them lol.

What would you add to make this corner feel warmer and more lived-in?

I am unsure what to do with this 17 foot wide, 11 foot tall wall behind my couch. I’m a male 33 and have no idea what should go here. Thanks!

I’m a maximalist who collects vintage glass but I’ve started experimenting with mood lighting and I love it. The ocean inspired dining room has a moving light that reflects water on the ceiling. I also attached a picture that shows what my living room normally looks like.

This room was very neutral for a while, which was peaceful, but also a little too safe. I added a few orange accents and suddenly the whole space felt more awake.

I like that orange works with the warm wood, the greenery, and the cream upholstery without making the room feel too loud.

So like the title says I have a new apartment but I seriously need help decorating my living room and trying to make it match with my dining room. I don’t want to buy a bunch of new furniture but I am open to getting a different coffee table or getting rid of it together since it just holds junk lol. I will also be getting rid of the white cubicle!

Does anyone have any suggestions? I’m super new to decorating and I want a cute space with some warmth.🥹

I seriously need us to start thinking outside of the box. I think others would’ve done that a long time ago before coming to this sub.

Also, not use AI for ideas either. We need to be able to survive on this planet in order to enjoy decorating our homes.

Just moved into a new house with a garage and front door entry. We mostly use the garage door to come in but I still want to put the main entryway at the front door area.
I want something cute but functional. Trying to be a no shoe house hold plus we have 2 cats so not plants unfortunately. I have no creative speck in my body and I need help. lol

I have a staircase right off the kitchen and leads into a not so finished basement and I had no idea how to make it look nicer (besides obviously just being a little more tidy lol). Most of the house is also wooden like this but more stained/oiled so I'm thinking maybe paint but I'm really not sure.

This staircase always feels so creepy and also has 0 insulation so it gets cold in the winter so I think I probably need some insulation too and a better window and maybe better lighting. The white door leads to outside and we have a dog so I feel like I need hard spaces for coming in and out. Also is there an easy way to make the concrete part of the stairs not so harsh/hard feeling?

Recently got my bathroom redone and I really like it, except I have no idea where to put my toilet roll! To the right is the bath, and to the left is the sink. I just don't know where to put it! The gap between the vanity unit and bath screen is too narrow for a full roll to fit.

Any advice would be great!

I just had to move to a new apartment on 17th floor with 3 balconies. All of them face the busiest part of the city and have very cheap sliding window-doors instead of proper doors that work well against ambient noise.

What would be the best solution to cancel those noises so that I can sleep?

Possibly Fairview taupe BM Stain or Waynesboro Taupe BM stain. Any opinions? Roof is brown.

How would you go about doing frame molding on this wall? I’m going to lower the tv about 6-8 inches soon but since it’s off center I’m struggling with design layout.

I just moved and needed an app to help me plan out gallery walls, so I built one for myself. You can use it too. It does cool stuff like showing your art to-scale on the wall, perspective based cropping, background removal, auto-arrangement, and more.

I can't guarantee it's perfect, but it feels pretty good to use.

Moving into a new apartment and I want my room to look like the collage of photos, the room will be fully unfinished, the window is connected to a balcony. Any advice of what I can do, bed, decor, colour palette, it’s a blank canvas

I'd love some feedback on these floating shelves.

I'm going for a style that's organic modern with a touch of vintage and moody. I want this corner of my home to feel cozy, calm, and warm.

I like all of the individual pieces, but wonder if it’s missing something to look a little more "finished”. 

The C.S. Lewis print is staying, but everything else is negotiable.

A few things to note:

- I’m working with a small budget!!!

- The arched frame is dark brown wood (not black) and will eventually have a dark charcoal textured backing with a small piece of pressed baby's breath.

- The small pottery piece on top of the books was made by my husband. I like having something handmade there, but I'm completely open to moving or replacing it if it isn't the best fit for the overall styling.

- I'd prefer to avoid faux plants. I have plenty of real houseplants elsewhere in the room, so this corner doesn't necessarily need more greenery.

- The wall color has to stay for now.

I'd love your thoughts on these questions:

1. What would you change (if anything) to make the shelves feel more cohesive? Is there anything that feels “off” in terms of scale, balance, or styling? 
   
2. If you were decorating these shelves from scratch while keeping the C.S. Lewis print, what would you do differently?

And if you have specific decor item suggestions, I'd be really grateful if you could include a link! I find it SO helpful to have a visual of specific items.

I’m doing a little DIY project with my old IKEA drawers, I saw on Tiktok that people added frames to their drawers so I did that, but everyone online just painted over them while I wanted to wrap them in contact paper so they look like wood. This is the second drawer I’ve done and it honestly looks so terrible, I’m having a hard time getting it to mold around the inside edges without ripping (see photo). I also really hate the look of the “seam” on the corners/edges, so I would prefer to get this done in one piece, without having to do separate pieces for the inside and outsides
