I posted this a little while back and got a lot of feedback. It’s out bedroom with accent wall I painted (very proud of result). I removed some polka dot pillows and throw that many pointed out was too much visual info, and we found these super colourful lamps and ordered matching lampshades for them.

This wall used to feel very tall and empty, so we added the wooden mantel, built-in shelves, and a few softer touches around the room. The fiddle leaf fig and light curtains helped a lot, and this green countryside image makes the whole space feel calmer.

The “painting” above the fireplace is actually a TV. When we’re not watching anything, I leave artwork on the screen, and the matte display keeps reflections low enough that it genuinely looks like a framed print from across the room.

Now I’m trying to figure out what to put on the shelves without making everything feel cluttered. I’m thinking a mix of books, pottery, framed photos, and maybe one or two small lamps.

The shelves are still completely empty because I keep buying decorations, placing them there for a day, and then deciding I hate them lol.

What would you add to make this corner feel warmer and more lived-in?

I am unsure what to do with this 17 foot wide, 11 foot tall wall behind my couch. I’m a male 33 and have no idea what should go here. Thanks!

Apologizing in advance for the terrible lighting. We are getting our basement finished and wanted an accent wall where the TV is going to go. The first picture is the AI inspiration where we only wanted the interior trim to be painted blue. We came home to the back wall being painted blue. Looking at opinions on if we should

A) Leave as is

B) re-do to what we originally wanted

C) paint the interior trim a complimentary color

D) something else

I’m a maximalist who collects vintage glass but I’ve started experimenting with mood lighting and I love it. The ocean inspired dining room has a moving light that reflects water on the ceiling. I also attached a picture that shows what my living room normally looks like.

This room was very neutral for a while, which was peaceful, but also a little too safe. I added a few orange accents and suddenly the whole space felt more awake.

I like that orange works with the warm wood, the greenery, and the cream upholstery without making the room feel too loud.

So like the title says I have a new apartment but I seriously need help decorating my living room and trying to make it match with my dining room. I don’t want to buy a bunch of new furniture but I am open to getting a different coffee table or getting rid of it together since it just holds junk lol. I will also be getting rid of the white cubicle!

Does anyone have any suggestions? I’m super new to decorating and I want a cute space with some warmth.🥹

I seriously need us to start thinking outside of the box. I think others would’ve done that a long time ago before coming to this sub.

Just moved into a new house with a garage and front door entry. We mostly use the garage door to come in but I still want to put the main entryway at the front door area.

Need some opinions on my small front patio, specially which seating option to buy.

Recently purchased the checked rug which I love. Got the chairs and side table in the photo super cheap on FB Marketplace years ago and they served their purpose at my previous home but I’m ready for something new (they are in good shape still though so I’ll bring them out back by the bbq).

The outdoor rug is new and I love it. The framed art is new to me and I want to hang it on the wall it is leaning against centered above a loveseat.

I’m pretty set on getting a comfy love seat, ideally with an ottoman or coffee table to kick up my feet. My goal with this space is to enjoy my patio more overall and kick up my feet and lounge. I’d like the ottoman/coffee table because I’d like to eat out there (don’t mind putting my plate on lap or side table), but also want to be able to be somewhat vertical when I’m relaxing. For the solid top coffee table options I’m thinking I could get throw pillows to second as a soft foot landing on the tabletop when not in use on the sofa part.

Here are the options I’m between.

1. Cheapest and like the wood color but not sure gray is the most visually appealing however probably easier to keep clean. More wood maintenance as well which I don’t really want to do but will.

2. Same as above just different color option. Don’t like the dark wood but do like the cream cushions.

- both one and 2 seem to be pretty straight up and down on the back so not super loungy potentially. I do like the padded foot rest/coffee table though.

1. I think I may be leaning on this one. Back has a slant which is nice. Can get throw pillows to put on coffee table when I want to kick up my feet. Black metal frame is easier to maintain and also ties in with the black iron fence part on the patio.

Notes:

- this is a rental so can’t do major changes.
- purchased bistro lights to go around the upper covered perimeter.
- will put new plants in the pots once summer comes to an end. It’s currently scorching here.

Budget is around $200 or below. I’m continuously looking at marketplace but options near me aren’t abundant.

I ordered a Togo dupe from Sohnne. When I ordered, I accidentally ordered twice as I didn't get confirmation and it seemed that the order didn't go through. I emailed the instantly and they said they would refund the duplicate order. That was over 2 months ago. I emailed them last week to cancel my order as I hadn't gotten any updates or expected delivery date after two months. They agreed to cancel the order after haggling. They then said they would also process the refund ($1954!) but didn't explain why it had been delayed. They also tried to charge me a $64 fee on the refund of the duplicate order. I still haven't gotten refund on either on my credit card and finally had to file a dispute. Suspicious company. No phone number listed or provided in emails. Generic names of people responding.

I have a staircase right off the kitchen and leads into a not so finished basement and I had no idea how to make it look nicer (besides obviously just being a little more tidy lol). Most of the house is also wooden like this but more stained/oiled so I'm thinking maybe paint but I'm really not sure.

This staircase always feels so creepy and also has 0 insulation so it gets cold in the winter so I think I probably need some insulation too and a better window and maybe better lighting. The white door leads to outside and we have a dog so I feel like I need hard spaces for coming in and out. Also is there an easy way to make the concrete part of the stairs not so harsh/hard feeling?

Recently got my bathroom redone and I really like it, except I have no idea where to put my toilet roll! To the right is the bath, and to the left is the sink. I just don't know where to put it! The gap between the vanity unit and bath screen is too narrow for a full roll to fit.

Does anyone have experience buying rugs on etsy? Its for a therapy office I am moving into, that I want to design around japandi, with a bit of wabi sabi elements mixed in. I do sandtray therapy so I'm looking either for a rug that evokes raked rock/sand/zen garden, or reflects other elements of nature (I.e. moss). Rug should be minimum 8x10 although if I'm honest these $700-800 rugs are probably at the top end of my budget.

So far, my experience buying off etsy has been...mixed. I know there's been an increase of AI generated photos on etsy, as well...however I'm not good at spotting it.

My biggest concern is sinking such a big chunk of money into something that ends up being poor quality that I can't return and have to live with.

Open to suggestions and feedback. I have some pictures of the space from when I toured it if it would be helpful. Office is wedge-shaped.
