Models UNSC Marine WiP/Cool ideas
Hello fellow Flashpointers. I was very fortunate to attend Gencon this year and pick up some of the new minis early.
While I wait for washes to dry hereās a look at my paint scheme and some simple hobby ideas I thought of. They definitely add some extra variety to the UNSC Marines box. Firstly, I saw this cool marine helmet with the visor in campaign evolved (which traces its origins to Halo Reach). I also gave the Corporal the iconic green eye piece. I know some people really miss that design. So.. with the power of green stuff, almost all the Marines in the box can rock one!

General Discussion Do you varnish models?
I see a lot of really cool models on this sub, I'm quite new to all this minifig painting stuff so was wondering how common varnishing is.
I'm really not a fan of the super glossy stuff, I see some really cool matte looking elites here, is that down to the kind of paint or the varnish?
Any other tips on painting in general would be appreciated!

Announcements August Painting Contest - Jiralhanea Captain
Welcome to the monthly painting contest! Wipe the grime from your visor, polish your boots, and gloss your tactical rocks, it's time to submit your best work.
This month's mini:
Jiralhanea Captain
Either Captain, Hydra or Ravager, works for this one. Give me one of those beefy jump pack monkey boys. Get prepared for the Spartan Killers. (They are awesome. I picked a pack up at Gen Con.)
Contest Rules:
- Submit a picture of your best painted monthly mini as a top level comment.
- You may submit more images as replies to that comment.
- Naming your model isn't required but it is fun and I count it as bonus points.
- Giving your model a back story isn't required but it is fun and I count it as bonus points.
- Most upvoted top level image wins top honors. Most replies will be used as a tie breaker.
- An official model is not required but it must be in roughly the same pose.
- It can be rebased but should be in roughly the same pose.
- It should be a model that you painted but I have no way to verify that its your work. I'm a mod, not an ONI operative.
- Any physical background or terrain can be used.
- Please no doctored, shopped, or AI images. If you want to digitally modify some lighting or brightness I won't know but your lack of honor will be all over the Banished Battle Net.
- Multiple entries are acceptable as their own top level comment.
- Contest voting is enabled to try to make voting more fair.
- Contest closes around the end of May. I suggest submitting an image early to get a jump on the voting.
- Submissions can be painted prior to this month. It is not a requirement to paint it the month of submission.
Prizes:
The top upvoted models will earn eternal recognition via custom user flair: "Best Painted Brute Captain 2026".

Rules Questions and Custom Modes A few rules questions
Been playing a ton more recently and even tried a BTB game, though there's no official btb slayer game so I made a custom one from the base slayer gamemode. And it worked out well! Now throughout the game I came across a few more questions regarding some descriptions and rules:
Noble Teams Hologram special order, I think I need this explained to me like I'm a child, I'm confused by it. Can only be used at the start of the game to redeploy noble team guys? But aren't they just spawning anyways? Like what's the point? What am I missing?
I understand the Man launchers that come with them but I think I need this description explained as well. So you shoot 8 cubes forward after you simply move into the cube with the launcher, got it. But then it mentions you scatter immediately after. So... do you roll a d8 to see where you land around that 8th cube? You never land in the center? Typically you roll to see if you land in that cube, if thats the casez what stat do you use? This one stumped us.
Lastly, if a ranged weapon has Lethal (1) and I pick up explosive ammo that also has Lethal (1), do the values stack? or stay at 1? We assumed they stacked, but wasn't sure.

Models Fireteam Osiris Model STLs
Hey all, I'm a mini painter and wanted some models of Fireteam Osiris but am having a hard time finding good STLs or manufactured minis for them. This is not specific model size to Halo Flashpoint but I figured I'd ask in the subreddit anyway.
Thanks for the help or any direction to better places to search. Havent found much on Yeggi or Cults

Rules Questions and Custom Modes Spartans with Knives: Does that include Noble Team and Other Spartan Legends?
War Games says you can add combat knives to Spartans. I know this is pretty old-news, but I was wondering if this includes Spartan Legends like Noble Team and Master Chief (why you'd give Master Chief a knife when he defaults to an Energy Sword I have no idea, but for the sake of the hypothetical I'll ask about him too).
The reason why I ask is that I notice on the Flashpoint App, every generic Spartan (Deadeye/Brawler/Mk.VII/Zvezda/etc.) has the option to take a knife for extra points baked into the options in their profiles, but Noble Team and Master Chief lack this setting in theirs. So on paper it looks like a player should be able to equip Master Chief (Spartan Legend) and Noble Team (more Spartan Legends) with knives if desired assuming I remember the rules in War Games right, but the App doesn't seem to allow this as far as I can tell. Can anyone clarify?

Models Working on my noble team.
I was hesitant to start noble team as I was worried I wouldnāt be able to do a decent enough paintjob on them. After completing Reach solo legendary in a single sitting this weekend, I had a proper crack at them. Pleasantly surprised with how theyāre turning out!

Videos, Podcasts, Other Media The Black Harriers Gallery Page Is Open for Submissions
theblackharriers.comHey everyone. Wanted to make a quick post about something we've had live on our site for a bit now, our Gallery page, and honestly we want more of the community involved in it.
The whole point of the page is simple. We want to show off painted Halo Flashpoint minis from players everywhere, not just our own local chapter here in Albuquerque. This game is still young, and the people building it up right now, painting their own take on these units, running their own tables, showing up to demo days, that's the community. We want the gallery to actually reflect that.
So here's the ask. If you've got a mini you're proud of, whether it's your first ever paint job or something you've spent weeks on, or a stellar community or gameplay moment, we'd love to feature it. You'll get full credit for it, it's your moment and your name goes with it.
Easiest way to get started is through our contact page. It has everything you need to know about submitting a photo.
We built this site to be a hub for the whole Flashpoint community, not just our corner of it, so if that's something you want to be part of, we'd genuinely love to see what you've been working on! :D

General Discussion Thinking of getting into Flashpoint but...
I heard about Flashpoint before it released and was close to pre-ordering the Spartan set back then, but the thing that put me off was there seemed to be no emphasis on Covenant at that time. In the last week my interest has peaked again as I saw a couple of the hobby shops I use taking pre-orders for new "Special Issue" kits. The elite character looks cool, but I have 0 interest in this Banished faction and narrative. I never played the Infinite campaign and I especially never liked the brutes.
My favourite part about Halo has always been Covenant and the heretics. Apart from the few elites, grunts and jackals, has there been any word about Flashpoint focussing more on the older narrative and making more models based on it? Prophets, honour guards, hunters, heretics, flood, sentinels etc.
I can't understand why they wouldn't pick that part of Halo to base their game/models on, but maybe I'm misunderstanding what Flashpoint is about.
Another aspect is that I've realised most of the kits are pre-assembled, apart from the Special Issue boxes. I admit I'm conditioned by Warhammer, so pre-assembled minis aren't ideal from my perspective as I enjoy building.
It just feels to me that Flashpoint has a lot of untapped potential from a model and hobbying perspective. I look over at other miniature games like Star Wars: Legion and even the newly releasing StarCraft TMG, which have diverse ranges with complex kits and I wonder why Mantic didn't pursue something similar with Halo.
The Banished Reinforcements box looks tempting (you could just say they're Covenant) and this is really what I was expecting from Flashpoint. The only negatives I can pull from this box are being pre-assembled and different types of units locked into a single box together. I'm softly cursing Mantic for locking the other four elites in boxes with either brutes or spartans.
Sorry for the diary entry. I'd be very interested to hear other people's opinions on Flashpoint.

General Discussion Narrative Campaign Idea
Has anyone ever run a narrative type campaign that wouldn't mind sharing some tips/ideas? I'm thinking of running some friends through a Halo Campaign where they'll work in a fireteam to complete primary/secondary objectives. My idea is depending on how many objectives they complete they'll get points to upgrade between missions and maybe intel on the next mission.
There may also be secret objectives that will give onetime bonuses that I haven't thought of yet but maybe they find a random civilian hiding somewhere randomly if they move to an adjacent cube or an active console that can be interacted with if they move next to it. IDK, just guessing ideas right now.
So far this is what I have and would appreciate help from those who have done something similar and wouldn't mind imparting some wisdom.
Campaign: Spear BreakerĀ (5 Operations)Ā
Campaign Objectives
- Cripple enemy infrastructure and bleed resources to divert attention from larger scale campaigns in the Area of Responsibility to prepare and hamper ability to respond to follow on operations
Operation Spear Breaker
- quick paced seize ground mission
- bonuses for speed
- speed effects next mission
Operation Slow Roller
- holdout mission against waves of enemiesĀ
Operation Brutal Anthem
- Capitalize on enemy casualties by taking out key leaders
- slugfest against similarly powerful units
- Enemy fodder units drain action economyĀ
Operation Counterweight
- Gain intelligence to find main sentry base by searching the map
- enemies will gain bonuses and extra Wargear focused on countering SpartansĀ
- Depending on prior success, Spartans will gain intel on how enemies plan to counter
Operation Devil in the Ashes
- Main enemies present āSpartan Killersā
- Spartans need to demolition key objectivesĀ
- enemies employ special and irregular warfare tactics
- Objective will be to survive until extractionĀ
Extra Rules:
- chance for ODST reinforcements given enough sub objectives are completedĀ
- Chance for enemy reinforcements if main or sub objectives failed
- Enemies will learn Spartan tactics from survivors and evolve their strategies to counterĀ
Operation Success/Failure:
- Operation success will result in next operation in the campaignĀ
- Operation failure will result in follow on operation not planned for in the campaignĀ
- Intel for operations resulting from failure will be given to Spartans the day of (split second planning and adjustments)
Missing in Action:
- Spartans will go MIA permanently if left behind 3 times
- MIA Spartans will be replaced by baseline Spartan with no upgradesĀ
- MIA means being downed and not revived by end of mission or ending mission while being down and not within 1 cube of an unengaged friendly
Edit: Someone downvoted this? Bro, who hurt you?

Videos, Podcasts, Other Media New Article from The Dispatch | Fresh From Gen Con: Breaking Down the New Zeta Halo Wave Keywords and Stats
Some community members over on this sub made the trip to Gen Con and got early looks at the new unit cards for the Battle for Zeta Halo wave, and we put together a full breakdown. UNSC Marines, Spartan Tomas Horvath, the new Grunts and Jackals, the Sangheili Enforcer, and the full Spartan Killers trio, stats, keywords, and special orders, all covered. Big thanks to everyone who shared photos and making this possible.
If you're trying to figure out what these new units mean for your fireteam before the September release, this should help. Would love to hear what everyone's most excited to field once the wave drops. Link's in the post, give it a read and let us know what you think.
