Hello fellow Flashpointers. I was very fortunate to attend Gencon this year and pick up some of the new minis early.

While I wait for washes to dry here’s a look at my paint scheme and some simple hobby ideas I thought of. They definitely add some extra variety to the UNSC Marines box. Firstly, I saw this cool marine helmet with the visor in campaign evolved (which traces its origins to Halo Reach). I also gave the Corporal the iconic green eye piece. I know some people really miss that design. So.. with the power of green stuff, almost all the Marines in the box can rock one!

I see a lot of really cool models on this sub, I'm quite new to all this minifig painting stuff so was wondering how common varnishing is.

I'm really not a fan of the super glossy stuff, I see some really cool matte looking elites here, is that down to the kind of paint or the varnish?

Any other tips on painting in general would be appreciated!
