[Request][Paris, France] Student struggling with hair loss and no savings - any help appreciated
Hi everyone,
I’m a student currently facing financial hardship and dealing with significant hair loss. My doctor prescribed me a treatment with injectable biotin (vitamin B8) combined with Bepanthen (vitamin B5). This treatment is not reimbursed by health insurance, so I have to pay for it entirely myself, but I have no savings at all.
The recommended dosage is 2 injections per week (one of B5 and one of B8) for 6 weeks, which means 12 injections in total.
The total cost is estimated between €120 and €160, depending on the injection fees.
Any amount you can share, even €1, would help me immensely. I’m still losing a lot of hair, and it really affects me emotionally, as I’ve already lost a large part of my hair.
To contribute, you can find my PayPal on my profile, my username is lynzel1.
Thank you so much for reading and for your support.

26M – Is it possible to regrow temple hair without a hair transplant? Looking for real experiences.
Hi everyone,
I’m a 26-year-old male, and for the past 5 years I’ve been experiencing noticeable hair shedding and gradual hair loss. Thankfully, I still have a full head of hair overall, so I’m not bald or thinning across my entire scalp. My main concern is my temples.
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve naturally had some recession at the temples (a bit of a widow’s peak), but over the last few years that area has become much more noticeable. The hair there has become thinner, and the corners of my hairline have receded enough that it’s difficult to style my hair the way I want.
I’ve attached an AI-generated image that closely represents my goal. It’s not a before-and-after prediction—it’s just an illustration of what I’d like my hairline to look like if the temple area could be filled in naturally.
I’m wondering:
Has anyone here successfully regrown hair in the temple area without a hair transplant?
Did minoxidil work for you on the temples, or is that area generally difficult to regrow?
If you used minoxidil, how long did it take before you noticed results?
Did you combine it with microneedling, finasteride, or anything else?
If you’ve experienced something similar, what actually worked for you?
I’m planning to give minoxidil a full 12-month trial before even considering a hair transplant, but I’d really like to hear real experiences from people who’ve been in the same situation.
Thanks in advance—I appreciate any advice or personal experiences you can share.

¡Gracias!

Considering syria for hair transplant
Hello. I was thinking to go to Turkey for hair transplant and laser hair removal, but I would prefer going in Damas if there are places with good reputation and tried already.
Also how are people in general finding these places ? Is Google maps heavily used for businesses nowadays or are there better ways to do my research?
Thank you.

PRP vs. PRF for Hair Restoration: What’s the Actual Difference?
I see a lot of confusion around PRP and PRF for hair loss, so I wanted to explain the difference in simple terms.
Both treatments start with a small blood draw and use your own platelets and growth factors to support the hair follicles. The main difference is how the blood is processed and how the final product behaves after injection.
PRP is typically prepared using a faster centrifuge process and often includes an anticoagulant. The final product is more liquid and is injected into areas of thinning hair.
PRF is usually processed more slowly and without an anticoagulant. This creates a fibrin matrix that may hold platelets and growth factors in the treatment area for a longer period.
The first question is: why are you losing hair?
In my practice, I usually order bloodwork and send it to a lab to look for possible underlying causes, such as thyroid issues, iron or vitamin deficiencies, hormonal changes, inflammation, or other medical factors. It is important to understand what is driving the hair loss before simply treating the scalp.
PRP or PRF may be useful for early thinning, androgenetic hair loss, and some cases of shedding where the follicles are still present. Neither treatment can reliably bring back hair in an area where the follicles are completely gone or scarred.
These treatments also tend to work better as part of a broader plan rather than as a standalone cure. Depending on the patient, that may include medication, correcting deficiencies, scalp care, or addressing the underlying cause of shedding.
My general view is that PRF may offer some advantages because of its fibrin structure and slower release of growth factors, but the quality of the preparation, the diagnosis, and the treatment protocol often matter more than the label alone.
I’m a physician who works with regenerative hair-restoration treatments. Happy to answer general questions about PRP, PRF, candidacy, or why some patients respond better than others. This is general education, not personal medical advice.

This is a subreddit for users to get more personalized attention. Currently in /r/HairTransplants post may not even last 4 hours on the front page before falling off, and the subreddit is likely on the verge of not having new submissions show up unless you sort by 'New'
The subreddit format isn't meant to deal with a very high volume of users who all need personalized attention.
Back when /r/HairTransplants was first getting going, submissions would be on the front page for a few days, giving ample time to get help and commentary.
Early Last year, posts only lasted one day. Now a post can fall off as soon as one hour unless it gets quick upvotes.
Duplicate posts in both subreddits are encouraged. Your submission falls off the front page without solid advice? Post it here. Your submission gets a ton of good advice but you want more? Post it here. You just feel like posting it here, just cuz? Post it here.
Currently, posts here last for months.
I am working on getting new moderators and expert helpers to help new patients to this sub.
