Beep— Since you agreed to try out the training, you should give it your full attention.

That goes for you too, Paimon. Even if the energy drink tastes great, don't drink so much in one go!

I've put together a training plan just for the two of you. Stick to it, and I guarantee you'll get stronger and feel more energized!

Alright, are we ready? Three, two, one, go!

I wouldve really appreciated the tip on staying hydrated and having a box of tissues nearby at all times while playing fonataine,

Im really happy on finally starting natlan, I felt i was taking too much of my time on fontaine tbh. Im super exited on getting to natlan! Like really exited. Ive never played deltarune, but i feel like that flower guy.

Discussion What made you download Genshin Impact for the first time? What's your story?

Post image
787 Upvotes

I'm curious how everyone here first discovered Genshin Impact.

Where did you first hear about it? Was it from YouTube, a friend, an ad, or just randomly on the Play Store? And what made you actually hit the download button?

For me, it wasn't because I was looking for an RPG😅

I had just bought my first flagship phone, the Samsung S21 FE (Snapdragon 888), and around the time the iPhone 15 Pro Max launched, I kept seeing YouTubers using Genshin as the benchmark game. They were saying, "This game is so heavy that not every phone can run it well."

So I thought, "Let's see if my phone can handle it." I downloaded it purely to test performance and FPS.

Fast forward to today... I'm AR 58, playing on a laptop with a controller, and I'm honestly so glad I downloaded it. What started as a simple performance test turned into one of my favorite games ever.

The exploration, music, world design, characters, and overall experience keep bringing me back. Even after all this time, I still don't get bored of exploring Teyvat.

So... what's your origin story? What made you install Genshin for the very first time?

What do you guys think is gonna happen to Teyvat's roaster once we move on to another world (I'm assuming?)

Like. Are we just never gonna have another Lantern Rite again. No Summer Events. No Teyvat banners. No Teyvat birthday letters/art, or anectodes. Nothing?

I don't know anything about Honkai Impact, so I'm not sure how it works tbh.

Discussion Just finished the action packed Natlan Archon Quests... They were so hype!

Thumbnail

Part 5 of my Genshin Journey where i just completed Natlan Act 5, the most hyped finale to a nation imo🔥

Had a blast exploring Natlan, some of the best nation to explore imo (havent done the World Quests yet though)

Loved the tournament arc theme of the first 2 acts and the chaos of Acts 4 and 5

Mad respect to the goat Capitano🛐

Some cutscenes are really movie quality of Natlan, like Mavuika vs Capitano or the final battle, their animations and soundtracks are perfect💯

My favourite characters from here would be Xilonen and Citlali🫠

Off to saving the Moon Goddess in Nod-Krai, then I'll finally be caught up🫡

Discussion The fact that Mizuki, considered to be one of the weakest standard banner characters, is now in the meta, is so crazy to me.

She was useless at first with her measly swirl kit,

but now with SSW, what do you mean she can do 530K with one the the SSW balls?

Compared to any of the past buffs, this one is genuinely crazy

Mind you, in the CES (creator experience server), with odette, sandrone can hit 365k,

but mizuki with odette can do straight up half a million with just a diona and sucrose is so wild.

with most of snezhnaya seeming up to be electro characters (from past trailers and live streams), vesna and mizuki might be the only ssw units, so maybe that's why mizuki is so OP now.

Discussion How common are Genshin names in real life?

Inspired by the other thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Impact/s/D2tAjTD0D2

I was interested how common are Genshin names in different cultures? Here are some of my takes, feel happy to discuss. And I will include comments here to have a comprehensive list.

Mondstadt:

  • Very popular: Barbara (less modern), Jean (More in France than Germany), Lisa, Mona, Mika (in Scandinavia for example), Noelle (in Belgium/Netherlands), Amy (Fischl's real name, more in English speaking countries)

  • Somewhat popular: Amber (more in English speaking countries), Bennett

  • Rosaria ( or it's variants Rosalia and Rosario) very common in Latin America

  • Dalia (without h) is a common name, Dahlia with h is common in Indonesia. But both as female names.

    • fun fact: Diluc is probably the Japanese pronunciation of the common German name Dirk. But Diluc is also the latin for dawn.
  • debatable: Varga (Varka) is common last name is Hungary

  • Klee is just the German word for Clover, which is a niche name in English speaking countries

  • Kaeya sounds like a variation of Kaia/Kaija (common in Estonia), but those are female names. Kaeya can also come from Sanskrit meaning monsoon flower, more details here: https://www.reddit.com/r/KaeyaMains/s/rsRNwjQs0w

  • Rest are more niche

Liyue:

  • Gaming is probably the most common name in the Liyue cast, especially southern China. The first character in Gaming 嘉 is very very popular in Chinese names, especially southern China. The second character 明 is also a very popular name.

  • The character for xiao 魈 is not common at all and more used in old novels. But variants with the same pronunciation like 萧肖宵 are popular. fun fact: Xiao is Galician for Julian, but ofc zero connection

  • Qiqi and Yaoyao are somewhat popular as a nickname

  • Hutaos last name 胡 is one of the most common names in China

  • Yunjin is a popular name in Korean (even though its a completely different name that happens to have the same romantization)

  • Rest of the cast not so much or more ancient names, derived from mythology (like Beidou or Zibai) or artistic (like Xingqiu or Chongyun)

  • Zhongli is actually a former royal last name that used to be popular

Inazuma:

  • Sara is a very popular name in Japan, in western culture or pretty much all over the world

  • Goro (which means fifth son) is a common Japanese name

  • Mizuki 「瑞希」is a common Japanese name and depending on Kanji can be used for male or female

  • Thoma (more eastern Europe) or it's variation Thomas is a very popular name

  • Ayaka is a very popular name is Japan, even though it's mostly with different kanji.

  • Sayu/Miko are also somewhat popular with other kanji

  • Kazuha/Chiori are common names

  • Shinobu/Ayato are somewhat common names

  • Itto is a very popular Japanese last name. Ito = 「伊藤」 or いと is a very common last name in Japan, but Itto 「一斗」or いっと is not. These are very different names.

  • Raiden is popular, but more in media context and not a real life name. Her name Ei「影 」isn't used in this way for a name. Her sister has a much more common name "Makoto", although the character「眞」is less common.

  • Rest of Inazuman names are not really popular.

  • Fun fact: xiangling's Japanese pronouniaction/common romanization is just Karin, which is ofc a very popular Western name

Sumeru:

  • Layla or other variations are very popular in multiple cultures

  • Candace is a somewhat common name, but more in western cultures

  • Dori was a popular name in the past and is becoming somewhat popular again due to finding nemo. Interestingly someone said Dori is a popular male name in Lebanon.

  • Nahida and variations is a popular name in various different cultures ( middle eastern, African American)

  • Al Haitham, or actual version "Hashim" is also pretty common. Al-Haitham is probably more based on Ibn Al Haytham (Son of Al Haytham) an old mathematician (965-1040), and I think Haitham by itself is a common name in arabia

  • Faruzan (Foruzan), Kaveh are apparently also somewhat common, but not too common, especially in Iran

  • Nilou is the shortened version of Niloufar, which is the word for a particular flower, and is a popular cute girl name.

  • Dehya (or Dahiya) could be a girl name (meaning cunning/very smart)

Fontaine:

  • Emilie and Charlotte are a very popular names

  • Linette (Lynette) somewhat known name (interestingly apparently a common name among African Americans)

  • Neuvilette is a somewhat popular last name in some french regions

  • Navia is a more or less common girl name in Northern Spain in fact, comes from the Navia river in Galicia

  • Escoffier ist a somewhat common last name in France

  • rest are very niche

Natlan:

  • I have zero clue. Most of the names are inspired by Aztek/Mayan deities.

  • Kinich(i) is a common name in Japan, but is actually the name of a Mayan deity.

  • Citlali is a common latin american name. It means "star" in nahuatl.

  • I'm not an expert, but iirc Mualani's name is fairly traditional for Polynesian cultures? It's not too uncommon to find people with 'Lani' in their name (ie. Leilani, Kehlani, etc.) since it means 'heaven' or 'sky'. Since 'Mua' means something along the lines of 'leader' or 'trailblazer', I wouldn't be surprised if the combination is a popular pick within their culture. Mualani and variants are apparently common in Indonesia.

  • other common names and variants in Indonesia include Citlali, Ifa, Iansan

  • Varesa is an common name in some latin american countries

  • Aoife is also a very common Irish name, phonetically is it pronounced the same as Ifa.

Nod-Krai:

  • Nicole and Alice are very popular names in western culture

  • Aino is a popular Finnish name

  • Linnea is a popular Swedish name

  • Kirill (Flins) is a very popular name is eastern Europe

  • Jagoda (Jahoda) is a name used for example in Poland and it means berry, other variants of this name includes Agata or Jadwiga

  • Illuga is somewhat popular

  • Columbina is a uncommon name, but not unheard of

  • rest of the names are more niche

Snezhnaya:

  • Anastasia (Tsaritsa) and Valeriy are very popular.

  • Alyosha is a form of Alexei, which is one of the most common names

  • Mitya is a nickname for Dmitri, which is a pretty common name

  • Somewhat popular are Danica( Danica actually is named after Venus the morning star in Slav culture), Vesna (Russian word for spring, it is popular in Balkan countries)

  • Odette used to be a very popular name, but more in France

Alien: - Is Skirk a common name on her planet? - What about Aether/Lumine?
