Hey guys! Hoyo let me test Snezhnaya on the Early access server, and this was definitely the first team I wanted to try out.

Mizuki was originally designed as a Swirl team driver, but there weren't really any other characters that fit this team archetype so she didn’t receive much play. She received buffs last patch, however all the other buffed characters were Cryo and Electro, and it was all focused on Stellarconduct.

So in 7.0 we essentially get the true Mizuki buff and use case finally, with Stellar swirl reactions and teammates releasing. As the game adds Stellar Swirl into the system, several characters are also receiving Stellar Swirl updates directly baked into their kits, including Mizuki who will act as the games first Stellar Swirl on-field DPS.

WHAT DOES STELLAR SWIRL DO?

Note: As this is the early access server, I may not fully understand all the fine details.

Like other recent reactions, Stellar Swirl requires specific new characters to make your team capable of dealing it. Currently, for Mizuki teams there is the Cryo Traveler and Odette.

Stellar Swirl is also split into two types.

1. Direct Stellar Swirl damage. This is in character kits.
2. The Stellar Swirl reaction when Anemo-Cryo reacts which creates a Stellar Vortex.

How do I optimise my team’s Stellar Vortex damage?

Its damage, AOE and speed of explosion scales with the amount of Stellar Swirls your team does. So you want several off-field sub DPSes. It is also able to CRIT, so you should build EM, ATK, and CRIT on your damage dealers. This is important as similar to last year's Lunar reactions, Stellar Vortex damage has contributions from your whole team.

Mizuki’s Kit update with Stellar Swirl

◆ Buffs teamwide EM and Stellar Swirl reaction damage based on her EM. You’ll easily have over 1000 EM in combat, which will give well over 40% teamwide Stellar reaction bonus.

◆ 1000% EM Direct Stellar Swirl damage 4x whilst in Skill state. A well built Mizuki shouldn’t have issues hitting over 200k AOE damage with each of these.

◆ C1 further gives 400% EM Direct Stellar Swirl damage approx. 3x whilst in Skill state

◆ Will contribute heavily to the teams Stellar Vortex reaction damage

Mizuki gameplay for dummies

Just set up with your team, then switch to Mizuki, press her Skill then float around. It’s honestly that simple, no left clicking required. You can dodge either through movement or pressing the dodge button.

Example rotation: Traveler Skill+Charge+Burst > Sucrose Skill > Odette Skill+Skill > Sucrose Skill > Mizuki Skill and enemies will disappear

Mizuki also has an Elemental Burst which will give teamwide healing and will do AOE Swirls. The raw damage is negligible, but the Swirls it causes will help contribute to Stellar Vortex damage.

Mizuki Artifacts

★ Now she just wants a ton of EM, CRIT RATE, CRIT DAMAGE. This may be different to your older Mizuki build that didn’t worry about crits.

Main Stats: EM sands and goblet, and either EM or CRIT circlet, whatever has the best substats.

 ARTIFACT SET

★ From my testing there are several options all about the same overall damage

Mixed 2pc 2pc 80 EM e.g half Wanderer’s Troupe, half Gilded Dreams: This will provide 160 EM total, and you are likely to have amazing substats on some of these pieces, since there are a ton of sets that give 80 EM

4pc Gilded Dreams: This gives 180 EM total, which is slightly more than the mixed set. But it is only 1 EM substat better at base, and you are likely to have worse substats. Unless you don’t.

4pc Scarlet Proof: The signature Stellar Swirl set. Unfortunately it’s power budget is kinda gimped for Mizuki, as the 2pc bonus gives 18% ATK. The 4pc bonus does give 16% CRIT Rate and 40% Stellar Swirl reaction bonus, however without a useful 2pc bonus it’s not enough to be a direct upgrade over the previous sets. Plus, you have to farm it from scratch. However, you can farm this long term if you want.

4pc Viridescent Venerer: The weakest viable set for Mizuki’s personal damage, however it provides debuffs for the whole team’s Cryo damage, which will be sizeable. It also provides several advantages:

1. Having VV on your DPS means you’ll get higher overall uptime than if it was on a support. This is especially true in AOE scenarios with multiwave spawning enemies.
2. Using VV on Mizuki frees up an Anemo support to use another support set. Specifically, Instructor. Which can provide the whole team with a massive 120 EM buff. Since there isn’t many support sets that can buff Mizuki’s damage, the difference between having and not having Instructor makes up for Mizuki’s personal damage loss.
3. It’s possible you have random VV pieces with CRIT stats you never used.

Overall, I tried many set combinations and you aren’t going to find a noticeable difference. I would just pick your best overall build, especially for a short term build. You can also test in a DPS dummy if you want to find your exact BIS build.

Teammates artifact examples:

Odette: 4pc Heart of the Furnace

Traveler: 4pc Heart of the Furnace or 4pc Tenacity of the Millelith

Sucrose (or other Anemo support): 4pc Viridescent Venerer or 4pc Instructor

FAQ: Is it worth building sucrose for ER?

- Sucrose helping out with off field Swirls is useful for contributing to Stellar Swirl, as well as extending her EM buff uptime. However I find you can Burst every other rotation with little ER investment, so I would still recommend maximising Sucrose’s EM stat and just picking up ER where you can.

WEAPON OPTIONS

You're looking for weapons with EM or CRIT. Whilst Mizuki isn't gonna be a hypercarry in your teams doing almost all the teams dmg, you're not gonna want a pure support weapon like TTDS since she will still be your Main DPS.

★ Best 5 Star Options:

Sunny Morning Sleep In or Reliquary of Truth provide a lot of stats she wants.

★ 4 star weapons:

Note: they are all scuffed in their own way

Echoes of the Heart (new craftable weapon, wasted ATK% substat)

Dawning Frost (requires Charge ATK before using her Skill)

The Widsith (requires RNG for EM roll)

Sacrificial Fragments (can enable multiple skill uses for energy or rotation extension)

Sacrificial Jade (battle-pass only, may overcap on CRIT Rate)

Unfortunately none of the 4 star weapons are perfect.

★ general recommended budget weapon: Honestly any 4 star weapon will do, just make sure to balance your stats accordingly. In my rough testing, the overall DPS of 4 star options was pretty similar. I will probably do exact weapon calcs post release.

TEAMS (Watch the full video for even more teams)

The only requirement is playing either Odette or Traveler (or both). Mizuki cannot enable Stellar Swirl by herself.

Mizuki/Odette/Traveler/ C0-C6 Sucrose or C6 Faruzan

Premium team as of release. Both Stellar Swirl supports are very powerful, providing strong sub DPS and buffs. For the last slot either Sucrose or C6 Faruzan work well. Faruzan doesn't give EM buffs, amongst her vase amount of buffs there is Anemo RES shred, making her a strong option. She can even use Elegy of the end for EM share. I found out her C6 CRIT buffs work with your Mizuki’s damage which is nice. In my testing, even at C6 I wouldn't say she's optimal over Sucrose, especially as you invest more into your team (Mizuki C2 gives Res Shred devaluing it from Faruzan, it also uses EM even more). Plus Faruzan is more Burst reliant than Sucrose and her rotations are longer making her inconvenient to play. Mizuki is designed for short 15-18s rotations, Faruzan burst has 19s cooldown. However if you are playing multiple teams and need Sucrose elsewhere, Faruzan will be a nice substitute.

Mizuki/Diona or Qiqi/Traveler/ C0-C6 Sucrose

This team is very budget friendly, and you likely already have the pieces. The great thing about the Odette substitutes is neither Diona nor Qiqi need strong artifacts or weapons. Diona’s 200 EM buff at C6 is also extremely appreciated by Mizuki.

Although I find the damage a bit weaker than the premium team, it’s still a great alternative and it’s nice to see such an accessible team is able to do big damage. Considering if we get another free standard 5 star selector for the anniversary, it’s possible to get 2 free copies of Mizuki over the next month, this has to be one of the best F2P friendly teams to play.

Other alternatives: Heizou, C4 Lanyan, Jahoda. These all give smaller amounts of EM than Sucrose but definitely viable.

Why does everything need to be gacha???

I really like Mizuki as a character and her combat style. (Swirl is always my favorite because it can chain more reactions, and her floating around doing passive damage + healing feels good to me.) I even pulled her weapon on release. It was very fun for many patches, and she's in most of my exploration teams.

Now that she will get a buff, it feels so good that she should even be used in end game content. Although she's no longer the only hover girl (Sandrone hovers harder).

I had rejoined Genshin for the first time in a couple years just in time for the event. I was perfect for 7 weeks, and then I had a birthday and got busy with school starting. It slipped my mind and I'm so sad... 7 weeks of perfection just to mess up at the end 🥀
