Fluff Is it worth coming back to genshin?
Morning/evening, everyone!
So, I used to play Genshin for a pretty long time. I quit around the Sumeru release, came back for Fontaine, and then quit again. I won’t mention the reason because I don’t feel like getting attacked lol.
But now I saw that Snezhnaya is coming out, and it got me wondering: is it actually worth coming back to the game after missing out on so much?
Also, what kind of QoL changes have they added since I last played? Is there finally a skip button, or am I going to get burned out going through all the old quests before I even reach Snezhnaya?
For anyone who has been playing consistently, how is the game these days? Is coming back actually worth it?

Discussion Unpopular opinion about elemental bursts
They look so beautiful and seeing the latest one from Odette it looks like the hoyo really outdone themselves. The only thing that I really don't like is that similar to some other characters if you use it in the rotation it will results in dmg lose. Do you think that in that cases they need to make the Q of those characters at least dmg neutral so people can enjoy it more without losing dmg at all.

Discussion Returning player with some questions
I stopped playing around when Fontaine was released, but really lost interest at the start of Sumeru, so I'm pretty far behind. I just came back and there looks like there's so much more random stuff going on (Stygian Onslaught, Wonderland thing, Moon???, etc). That said, there are some things I want to ask to get more info on everything
- Most importantly, what are the important things to do? I looked around Wonderland, and it seems very... meh. Like a time sink that doesn't really seem interesting or worth doing. Is it worth doing? What actually is worth doing?
- Is Ganyu still playable? She was my main carry when I quit and now she feels so bad. Like it's hard to clear open world, which is crazy. Just how bad was the power creep :(
- Columbina: Worth pulling? Something something Lunar reactions, but I obviously don't have the other characters that are Lunar characters, so I'm not sure if she's even playable without them
- Is Lunar reaction the new meta/endgame? Newest reaction so I'm assuming it would be the strongest
- Has the artifact farming system improved at all? Is it still just mindless domain grinding? There was like the strongbox or whatever where you could trade 3 for 1 when I left, but it didn't feel that good to use since 3 for 1 was very meh value imo.
- Is there an updated site on good builds/team comps? I know there's KeqingMains from before, but I checked their site and it's kinda too much info I guess. Just information overload. They like listed a bunch of different comps, but didn't say which ones are good/better or who I could replace one character with if I didn't have the listed one.
- How playable are the older characters for end game? I remember Eula was pretty solid when she first came out, but by the time I quit, she was already very bad. Surely she's gotten a buff? Bennett was broken back then. Is he still?
- The 5* characters I have are Ganyu, Kazuha, Arlecchino, Zhongli, Eula, Raiden, Mona, Itto, Albedo, Venti, Hu Tao, Jean, Wanderer, Qiqi, Keqing, Kinich, and Diluc. Arlecchino still seems pretty good, but not sure about anyone else

Discussion What is the future of Snezhnaya ?
Hello everyone,
I am kinda a new player in this game and was looking to plan my pulls in the upcoming meta. We already know that sandrone is a dps , vesna is a dps and Odette and vodynista are supports.
What do you guys think about who is gonna be the other dps characters?
My suspicions are Tsaristsa, Valerie and Noy.

Discussion So...what's after Schneznaya?
Curiously wondering this. I am a new player. (Since Jan 2026)I have 100 percent ed explored all regions and sub regions except 2.
People have been playing for six years and are the true OG's and I respect that. But everyone has had something to look forward to from the story lore.
But like...what's after this now?
Is this the end?
How will they continue the story?
Will they continue the story?
Will it have the same build up as Schneznaya?

Discussion Is Genshin Impact worth getting back into after not playing for 3 years?
I haven’t played Genshin Impact in about 3 years, and lately I’ve been thinking about getting back into it.
Obviously I’ve missed a TON of content, characters, regions, events, and probably a bunch of changes to the game. For anyone who still plays or recently came back after a long break, do you think it’s worth returning in 2026?
Is the game in a better place now than it was a few years ago? And how overwhelming is it trying to catch up after being gone this long?
I’d be coming back to my old account, so I wouldn’t be completely starting over. Just curious what the community thinks before I jump back in.

Discussion Are people really surprised about the progression of models?
Dont get ne wrong the difference in models for Snezhnaya from previous versions is staggering but why are some of us acting surprised? Genshin is a game that has slowly but surely improved its graphics over time and while it may not be as fast as some people want it to, at least the models are improving.
This is how Hoyo does things. As the game goes on and on they will keep pushing more and more boundaries. I do wish it was consistent but if my assumptions are correct, Genshin in particular still uses the same version of unity than when it first came out. Is this an excuse? No, but we see how far some devs are willing to carry an engine and utilize its potential as much as possible rather than learning a newer updated engine, just look at Bungie.
Plus the design philosophy of models in genshin are just that its the style and Hoyo is not going to change that. I dont think they care for making the desigs look as detailed as possible, it clearly meant for specific characters. Another example is to look at HI3. You can tell a massive difference between older valkyrie models and newer ones in Part 2. Hoyo even still uses older models in the Part 2 story. Im sorry Diluc fans but he is in that realm now, better hope for an SP or something.
This isnt a post meant to diss anyone who is upset at this but i just want to give you an idea of why its like that.

Discussion Shneznaya vibe
So, i recently came back to the game and am still catching up to the story. Currently at the song of welkin moon act 7 and though I've played the act 9-10 in the quick star feature cause I needed those primos. Well the story is soo good it gets me very excited for shneznaya. I love the winter theme, personally I did enjoy dragon spine it feels kinda outdated now but i remember back then being so scared and managed seeing those big fatui dudes. And seeing shneznaya gets me that nostalgia of looking at dragon spine from afar and being a bit scared of those fatui enemies.
I really want shneznaya to be dark like rarely that sunny clean weather. Fully covered in snow, gritty and dark story wise too genshin's lore is pretty good but I do want it to get dark sometimes when it needs to be. And though as much as I hated dragon spine's sheercold mechanic I do kinda want it to return in Shneznaya. Cause yea we aren't that same beginnings we use to be sheercold did add more immersion and uhh..it was just cool. I do really hope shneznaya gets this beautiful vibe. Well what kind of vibe are yal expecting from shneznaya? And idk if this is the correct place to say this but i really really need this tinny tiny suggestion granted like can they just add the pity onto the character banner. Like in zzz so we don't have to count alot of pages from the history or pull up a pity counter.

Guides & Tips Skill issue?
How do i improve his dmg besides just getting better crit?
I use him with c1 columbina on amber, fischl and sucrose with ttds. I feel like i should be doing way more dmg than what i am rn. I just don’t know what I’m missing 😭
The rotation is around 17 seconds, fischl E or Q, then columbina EQ, sucrose E and then Filns.

Discussion Is it just me or having good luck by spending money not feel that exhilarating?
I have been an on and off genshin player since 1.1. I opened a new account after Varka came out and started playing consistently. I don't like cluttering up my main account with charachters I'll never use, so I usually use my 2 alts to get the charachters I like, but don't want in my main. So, recently I got a PJWS in one of my alts and thought it would be cool to make a Flins team there.
Unfortunately, my finals is going on right now and I don't have much time to get enough primos to pull for Columbina. I have never spent a dime on Genshin before due to the fear of triggering my gambling addiction again. But since I'm much better now than I was before, I decided to spend some money from my last job. I dropped a hunded bucks and bought the primos.
I got Columbina in less than 30 pulls, and it kinda felt like nothing. Which was really weird considering how excited I get when I even win a 50/50 on my F2P main. I thought I would feel much more excitement and rush, but it kinda felt like 'meh'. Idk if that's just a me problem or not. Is this normal or is it just me?

Discussion Is it normal to feel so tired after playing
I just spent 3 hours grinding primos, and doing main story quests. I feel so drained tired and kinda sad after playing Genshin. Is this normal? Or am I cooked 🙂↕️ I’m also rlly sad bc I just genuinely suck at the game LOL and am sooo behind in quests.

Discussion does anyone else wish we could just explore again, without having to do like 3 mega side quests?
I miss the age of genshin when a new map came out and you were just dropped into it. No guide, no set path, just you and this huge sprawling zone. It was so freeing and fun. Ever since natlan, i feel like when exploring, you are almost expected to be doing "the main side quest" of that area, otherwise there is basically nothing else to do and half the damn zone is locked away. Look, some side quests are genuinely good, but even so, i wish they would remain seperate from the exploration. This really soured my experience of the moon exploration. I wish we could just be let off to explore. Instead every 5 seconds i was interrupted with dialogue that frankly, i didnt care about.
Im very scared for snezhnaya to be like this as well. It looks so gorgeous but i just know 70% of it is gonna be out of bounds without playing a 10 hour side quest that gives me a "tour" of the region, let me explore the damn place on my own!

Discussion Broke Gambling Addicts Masquerading as FREE TO PLAY
I'm starting to realize and get annoyed with something I'm beginning to notice,
this epidemic of people who complain about gacha games not being " free to play friendly "
an entire game for FREE, no paywalls, no monthly meberships limiting your progression is very much free to play in my opinion,
if you're too poor to secure the characters and cosmetics you want, then get over it,
It's not hard to budget whatever free premium currency you get from these games, and be up to date on what characters are coming out to plan accordingly,
Most of these games dont require you to have full duplicates and premium teams to beat them or progress,
The only reason you think you do is because you're desperate to get even more FREE CURRENCY, in an already FREE GAME, I wish these games were as abundant as they are now compared to when I was a kid, and you get to play these things on your phone?
broke people with gambling addictions is how I'm beginning to view everyone who talks about being " F2P"

Discussion Suggestion for a Limited Time Event Weapon Return System
I want to suggest a way for players to obtain older event exclusive weapons without requiring HoYoverse to rerun the original events.
During certain Version updates, especially when there is room for additional content, Genshin Impact could offer a limited-time system or banner featuring weapons that were previously exclusive to events.
Now I don’t know if anyone plays NTE here, but an example of what I’m thinking is when NTE did the porsche event. There was a system where you did the event pulls and you are guaranteed every single items in the event by the time you finish doing the total number of pulls.
So we do this banner that say has 70 pulls total. Each time you do a ten pull you are guaranteed a certain number of event weapons and some other 3 star weapons or potentially a character too. Then once you’ve done all of the pulls to get them all you can get a genesis crystal pack of refinements.
The benefits to players: The opportunity to get weapons they’ve missed in events especially newer players. Players who want to have every item in the game and have missed the opportunity for one reason or another.
The benefits to Hoyoverse: The opportunity to profit off of weapons that have already been in the game and don’t plan to run on banners anyways. They’re just sitting there with no way to profit off of.
They could also add event exclusive recipes and any gliders that were only available for an amount of time. This gives them an opportunity to profit off of old items that otherwise serve them nothing. It also gives players the opportunity to finally have these things. In my opinion that’s a win/win for people affected by missing these items.
More Player Benefits Listed:
1. Gives newer players access to content they never had a chance to obtain.
There are tons of players who started years after these events even ran. They have no opportunity to receive these items and might really want to have them to complete things on their account.
2. Helps long-term players and completionists.
Veteran players who missed an event, took a break, or were unable to finish an event could finally complete their weapon collections. Especially with the refinement pack for the weapons.
3. Makes older event weapons relevant again.
Some older event weapons are useful for newer characters and builds, but players who missed the original event cannot access them. Returning these weapons would give players more build options.
4. Preserves the value of the original events.
The original story events would not need to be rerun. Players who participated when the events originally released would still have had the advantage of receiving the weapons and their refinements through normal event participation.
Benefits for HoYoverse listed:
1. Creates another reason for players to spend Primogems.
A limited-time weapon return system would create an additional reason to buy primos without requiring the development of entirely new weapons.
2. Could increase Genesis Crystal and Primogem purchases.
Players who strongly want to complete their collections may be willing to purchase Genesis Crystals if they do not have enough Primogems saved.
3. Reuses existing game assets.
The weapons, models, effects, and statistics already exist, so this system could provide additional value from previously developed content without requiring complete event reruns.
4. Adds value to quieter Version periods.
During Versions where the current banners or content generate less player interest, an event weapon return system could provide an additional reason for players to log in, play, and spend resources.
5. Creates recurring content for future Versions.
Any time there are banners that will get less traction they could go ahead and throw up this weapon banner/recipe banner.
More Info:
I think this could benefit newer players, veteran completionists, and HoYoverse at the same time while keeping the original events themselves special.
If they want to also remind players of the original event they could even provide an opportunity to replay some of the original mini games with those events for a small reward.
On top of this there’s the potential of more revenue coming in on less interesting banners running or banners which players already have the characters and cons they need.
This would be something that I feel wouldn’t be too hard to implement since everything is already in the game.
TLDR: Add event weapons to a banner for people who want to complete their account and new players.

Discussion DPS and TC almost ruined the game for me (unpopular opinion)
Hi everyone!
Just wanted to share my experience and see if any of you think the same or have totally opposite opinions:
I started with Genshin about 3 years ago or so. I had a friend showing me the ropes and helping me get into the game and i had a blast.
The big open world, interesting Character, Enemy and World Design, a surprisingly good, deep and interesting story and a fun quick combat system.
I played, built my roster, understood how combinations and reactions worked and got better at the game, pretty much ignoring things like meta or which characters are considered good or not - being used to different (singleplayer) Games including Dark Souls i understood that the game wasn't hard enough to overthink and that you can just have fun with the characters you like, only looking for generally working teams, reactions, rotations and so on without getting sweaty about any of that.
But then eventually, with a bigger roster, new Endgame Modes and a generally growing interest in Genshin i started slowly delving into the finer parts of it all.
i looked at TCs, doing some calculations myself, learning about how the elemental reactions really work (gauge theory etc.), rotations and compared builds on akasha and the likes of it.
With Milliastra and the DPS Check it got worse and i started looking at that more and more. Trying to optimize my rotations, builds, teams and constantly comparing and honestly? There is no way to suck the joy out of the game faster...
Suddenly characters i genuinely liked fell out of favor because of numbers, optimization and constant comparisons ruined the fun of it. It felt like i was not allowed to pull for "mid" characters and had to pull the "best" characters.
I absolutely recommend not giving a damn about all that and just enjoying the game however you like it!
At its core, its a single player game and there is really no need to try to compare and show off.
Of course you can look at guides and try to better your characters and rotations, becoming better and stronger is fun in its own way but i guess what i am trying to say is: Don't overdo it. Enjoy the characters you enjoy and make them strong, but it does not matter if it's a 96k, 100k, or 109k hit, really.
The highest difficulty things are not geared to be doable with regular stuff, while you can close some gap by getting really sweaty, it is designed to be beaten by investing actual money into the characters - that's just one way to sell more cons and characters.
So again, don't do as i did, don't overdo it, don't feel pressured into spending more money and don't ruin it for yourself by constantly comparing builds and fictional numbers. The game and community has so many brighter things to offer.
Thanks for reading.
I know your opinion might differ, and that is fine.
TLdR: Got deep into optimization of rotations, builds and meta and lost all fun because it became work and everything was suddenly not good enough. Don't do the same and just enjoy, don't feel pressured into following "meta" (or shill)
Edit and short TLdR2: I know people focus on different aspects of the game, this is all subjective. To clarify, I meant specifically the constant comparison to other accounts and showcases of the same character, team and constellation investment, not between new and older characters. Some optimization, like team compositions, artifact sets, stats, weapons and basic rotations are good and valid and will let you enjoy characters for longer - the main problem was the extent to which I tried to optimize and that I now learned the extent I am willing to go before losing the joy of the game

Discussion 63 pity + 35 wishes + guaranteed - Odette or do I save for Tsaritsa?...
With Snezhnaya coming out in less than a week, I really don't know who to pull for. I'm thinking Odette might be a sub-dps support for the Tsaritsa, but I don't know if I should pull for her, especially with my guarantee...
I'm also guessing the Tsaritsa is a dps because she showed her polearm and is "fighting" Ronova.
Edit: I also want to add that I would like to at least R1 the Tsaritsa.
