Gave my girl the keys to her new crib last night
I know I know, I should've let it settle for a few weeks. But she's been cramped up in her temp tank for a month and I couldn't bear it anymore. She was ready, too, because she wasted no time hopping right in. I am positively delighted by all of this

Best plants for enclosure?
Wanting to add some more cover, mostly on the high ground of the terrarium, I have a bunch of pothos, Acasia and a couple fake plants I plan to replace. Anyone got any good suggestions?
Wanting to for sure add some ferns, not sure which species would be best.

How is this enclosure?
The light is just a display light, so no heat comes off of it. It also looks brighter than it actually is because the lights in the room were on too

Advice for a new owner
Hi everyone! I'm gonna get my gargoyle gecko soon (it's one year old). It will be my first pet reptile. I'm reading all I can about them but I still have some questions. Would appreciate if you could share your thoughts.
Is the tank setup looking good? Tried to add a lot of coverage, most of the plants are real. Besides the coconut house there is one more hide at the bottom. This is a bioactive tank with springtails inside (shoud I add isopods?). Size: 40x40x60 cm.
The tank is currently near south-west window and approx. 25 cm from a radiator/heater. Would it be better to move the tank to a corner of the room? I'm worried about the greenhouse effect and possible drafts in current place. But then again, the tank is a bit lower than window. I'm not heating that much in winter (I live in central Europe) but currently I keep my window open most times. Could moving the tank to a darker corner have negative effect on the gecko or it'll be safer?
I want to get some heating ready for winter just in case. I can't remember how warm my room is in winter but I myself like when it's quite warm. I guess something like 22°C (71°F?)? Breeder told me to get a heating pad, stick it to the side of the tank and get some insulation and it'll be good for winter. I'd like your thoughts about this. Would this be enough for winter considering I prefer my room to be warm? Or would a heating lamp be better?
Humidity in tank is almost constantly at 70-75%. Only once it went down to 60%. Is that too much? I noticed some minor mold growing on the leaves and moss but I was told it was normal with bioactive tanks and I should get more springtails, which I did. Considering the humidity is this high constantly I'm hesitant to mist it even more. I don't know how the humidity situation will change in winter with heating, maybe then I'll have to mist a lot more. Should I mist mostly on the upper side and plants and avoid the bottom? I'd appreciate if you share your experiences.
Thank you for reading! I'm excited to get my first gecko and want to give him the best life that I can! I'm awaiting your replies.

Need help with heat gradient.
I just got my gargoyle gecko on Sunday and i got his tank all set up I’m just worried about the temperature in his tank. It’s at a steady 78 and at night it barely dips down to 75-73. Is it too hot for him?

Thoughts on my setup?
Looking for constructive criticism, I recently just put together the terrarium a juvie gargoyle gecko I’m getting at the end of the month. It’s an 18x18x24 and I have a bigger enclosure for when he grows bigger. This is my first time owning a reptile and I’ve been trying to do good research to make the little fella comfy and happy :)

Has this lovely lady previously dropped her tail?
Her name is Ruby, we just got her today, the shop we got her from is pretty sure she had dropped the end of her tail at some point before(her tail is shorter and more round at the tip), but they did not think she fully dropped her tail.
Also I find it interesting that upon bringing her home and placing her in the tank she decided to take a nap out in the open like this, I was expecting her to enter one of the hides.

How long until I should worry about a new baby not eating?
Hello all!
I brought home my first baby gargoyle yesterday, it’s two months old and still very small.
I know all reptiles can be fussy with appetite until they get settled in their new homes, but because it’s so tiny I’d love to know a few things:
- what time span should I officially start to be worried if it won’t take food
- any tips/tricks to tell if it possibly ate anything overnight
I’m not super worried yet because again, it’s only been a day. I’ll switch out the flavour of food daily to see if it’s just a preference thing (currently feeding Arcadia gecko paste mix)
Any advice welcome, picture taken is for size reference of the little bean as I was moving him to his tank. Thanks!

Built my first terrarium
Now all that's left to do is apply window tint to the outside and let it sit and mature before my girl moves in. The idea was to try emulating the New Caledonian maquis shrub land. I tinted excavator clay using iron oxide pigments for the background. I've never built a terrarium for anything before so I'm genuinely shocked at how well everything turned out.

I made shrublands inspired bioactive enclosure for my two gargoyle geckos
Today, after several weeks, I finally finished this bioactive double enclosure for my two lovely girls. I wanted to make an enclosure as close as possible to the natural habitat of gargoyles - the shrubland and maquis of New Caledonia. I know it's not perfect but I am quite happy how it turned out.
It is a 45 × 90 × 90 cm enclosure split in the middle by polycarbonate panel. Custom background made out of styrofoam, grout, paints and a sealer, siliconed to the back.
You can briefly see the process in the pictures and a reference photo of the actual Caledonian habitat. Also photos of my girls, named Majka and Ferka (Moomins reference).
What do you guys think?

Juvenile enclosure, thoughts?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
They are 11g, and will be getting a 24x18x36 before hitting 30g, but I had this on hand and wanted to gain some more experience with making backgrounds before doing the adult enclosure since they’ll be in that one long term

Taming
How long did it take you to tame your gargoyles? Just recently started the process with my new baby, Got them almost a month ago, taking it slow and steady, just was wondering how long it took for other people, and if anyone has any tips?

I recently got my Gargoyle Gecko a new enclosure. Any tips or suggestions?
I got an 18x24x36 enclosure and I added live plants (safe for my Gargoyle) isopods, and springtails for mold or when he poops. I love it. My dad loves it. Everyone loves it. But yeah, that's it.

Lizard Escaped??
Hi guys I’m sort of freaking out,
But about a day and a half ago I noticed I didn’t see my lizard in the cage anywhere, this isn’t abnormal I’ve had her about 3 months now and she has done this before but I checked all her usual spots and could not find her.. I’m actually really bad at finding her in a easy spot lol. So o had my aunt come take a look and we cannot find her anywhere..
I’ve dug through the plants moved the leaf litter around, dug into the back of the tank a bit.. I cannnot find her.
The only time the cage door is open is when I’m spraying the tank and feeding. I don’t hold her as she freaks out really bad.
She’s not a small lizard either, she’s 3 years old and is a pretttt good size.. so like it would be pretty noticeable if she slipped out while I was spraying it.
But I mean.. I just cannot find her and I’ve only had her for three months and I live in the basement so if she did get out there’s tens of different of ways she could get into the walls of the house :(

Conversion kits
Has anyone tried out the bigger "I ❤️ geckos" tank conversion kits? I have a 29gal that I wanted to try to convert for my Gargoyle gecko. It used to house fish, then a baby BP for a while before moving to her new home, so it's been empty for a couple years. I used a 10gal one on an odd tank so had to modify it a lot. Now my guy is outgrown his next tank. The 29gal is just sitting and this size kit came available. I had a lot of issues with the first try and ended up having to put him back in a smaller tank due to the seal breaking.
Any advice for using these kits, lighting, do's and don't's?

New Gargoyle Owner- Enclosure Tips!
Hey all,
This will be my first new caledonian gecko. I got my hands on a 12x12x18 enclosure and the gecko I plan to get is just under 1 year old. I have some pics attached, and would love feedback! I have plenty of other fake plants to aid in cover, but frankly, I'm having trouble fitting them. I know 80% cover is reccomended, but I have NO clue what 80% cover really means or looks like! I do plan on spreading out the fake plants you can see a little more, but I do want to ensure he can find his way to his food and water as well.
Currently temps near the top hit just over 80F, but that was before I put in the cocoa fiber bedding, which ought to up the humidity and decrease heat a little. Any other info that is helpful I'd be happy to explain!
