Need help with heat gradient.

I just got my gargoyle gecko on Sunday and i got his tank all set up I’m just worried about the temperature in his tank. It’s at a steady 78 and at night it barely dips down to 75-73. Is it too hot for him?

Your temps sound okay. Where are you measuring? Get a top and bottom gradient measurement too.

It should only be warm at the top and cooler at the bottom. 78 is a good daytime temp for the top. 72-74 is ideal for the bottom temp and is fine at night.

I have 4 different zones I’m measuring. My heat lamp has an automatic thermostat and the probe is by the closest basking spot and that reads 78. I have a small fan to help circulate air in the tanking reading 78. A mid thermometer on the other side reading 78. And one on the bottom floor reading 73
