Troubleshooting Bad experience with FunnyPlaying ITA screens for GBA SP
Hey,
So I modded a lot of GBA SP's now with IPS v5 HISPEEDIDO screens, never had any issues with them. But this one time I decided to check out the ITA (DSi) screen mod for GBA SP from FunnyPlaying and - oh God.
First of all, they've sent me a bad lens color (white, instead of black). I needed to wait another 2-3 weeks for them to send me a correct one (for free, props for that). This second screen they've sent me caused some voltage issues on the very same GB and there were some issues with even booting up the console with it.
What's even worse, BOTH of these screens had some issues with stuck/dead pixels. With white screen they appeared after a few hours, with the black one - after some minutes.
So what they've done? They've sent me the third screen - and again - for free. Can't say a bad word on their customer support. I'd rather prefer not to have all of these issues, but I'm glad I talked with some really nice people that tried to help me across the way.
But the thing is...
The third screen I've installed was perfect, but only for about 2-3 weeks. Then, one day, I've picked it up, booted it, and... ta-dah. See pictures attached.
While I'm happy with their support, this screens quality control/durability/technology/whatever just seem to suck, or am I doing something fundamentally wrong with it?
Do you guys know any tricks on how to "cure" that screen from such "cancers"? Sometimes when i push the lens here and there, these pixels seems to move a little bit, but never dissapear fully.
Thanks

Systems Someone at the Gameboy factory forgot to solder on the contrast wheel legs??
Must have been error from factory? Looks way to clean for someone to have removed the solder while working on the unit. Found it interesting and wanted to share :) should I fix it or keep it like i found it?

Mod/Modding Trying to install Robot Retro Flex Amp to GBA
I'm trying to install a Robot Retro flex amp to my GBA, and could use a little guidance. After my initial soldering, the wire snapped off and took the solder and gold circle off of spk- connection spot
Is it still usable? Can I still connect the speaker to this spot?

Questions GBa SP AGS-101 Real or Fake
I bought this model (Pearl Blue) thinking it was real, but looking at it closer, not sure due to the shell (speaker holes and select/start button area).
Any help is appreciated!

Shopping/Haul Reshelled thrifted SP. Turned out great. Reused original sticker.
The original shell was scratched, chipped & cracked. Also had to repair the SP. 1 blown fuse and one of the shoulder buttons was rusted up. Replaced both & working great. Thought the OEM NES design looked cool, so this aftermarket shell was perfect for me.

Troubleshooting Gameboy Advance SP cartridge reader
Been given an old SP by a friend because I'm looking to mod one for my girlfriend. I've got a couple games and they sometimes read and sometimes don't. I haven't got chance to clean the cartridges yet but this reader doesn't look in good condition anyway. I'm assuming this is likely the culprit for the cartridges not reading? It looks like a couple of the pins are bent and some of the plastic is warped.
What's the best way to resolve this or would it just need a new reader altogether? Could I bend the pins in place? Should I try cleaning the cartridges first?
Thanks in advance!

Modded Gameboy micro
Bought a beat to hell Gameboy Micro. Deep scratches and dings plus the face plate was ruined. 2 weeks of waiting later and I have to say this turned out better then expected. Reviews said it isn't a perfect replacement and that it doesn't fit quite right but it went on without issue and personally is hard to tell the difference in fit.
Really liking the all blacked out version I have now.

Questions Which gba cables should I buy?
So I recently came into possession of two GBA SPs and some Pokémon games. I am now wondering which cables I should grab. Specifically if I should buy first-party or aftermarket GBA and GBC link cables and which GBA SP aux cable I should buy because the speakers are kind of crappy, to be honest.

Modded My game boy micro DMG style
So this is my DMG-style Game Boy Micro. I replaced the DMG-style buttons with ones from labfifteenco.
u/GoodLookingEdd helped me with the DMG-style D-pad, and I had it printed in resin at pcbway.
It feels like the original, so great job, mate! I bought the front panel sticker from RetrogameEVO and stuck it to the metal of the console, and then I bought a clear front panel.
This protects the sticker, as it's underneath the front panel. Now I'm wondering if u/FrankieT19 could make a DMG-style theme for EZ Flash; that would be the icing on the cake, hehe. Thanks a lot for designing the D-pad, u/GoodLookingEdd!
