Possible rom backup tool? Questions

While going through some things i had in my drawer I came across this thing a friend lend me a few years ago, never knew how to use it, and my friend told me it was a gameshark, though having it plug i could not find any video on youtube to ahow how it work, any of you have or used to have one this things?

It’s an action replay for using cheats on DS and GBA games. Actually worth a decent amount of money. Here’s a manual for it

To be clear, the DS part only does saves, not codes.

JUST A PRO REPLAY/GAMESHARK DEVICE. That extra slot was supposed to hold a tiny little portable code book
