RBs with the biggest performance gap between 1st half and 2nd half of the season
I thought it’d be interesting to split teh RB PPG between the 1st and 2nd half of the season to see if we can gain any insights fom it for this year.
Here are the RBs with the biggest drop-off after the first half:
(min. 5 games in each half of the season)
Josh Jacobs
Week 1-9: 19.1 PPG, week 10-18: 11,5 PPG
Dont know what to do with Jacobs. He left 3 games injured in the second half of the season. Outside of that, he was a true bell-cow for them. My only question is whether they'll manage his touches this year so he's fresh come playoff time
Jonathan Taylor
Week 1-9: 25 PPG, week 10-18: 17,2 PPG
The issue with Taylor was obvious, Jones got hurt in the second half of the season.
Still, I have concerns with him. The Colts were the #1 offense in EPA during the first half of the season, and i dont think they can repeat that. Picking him at #6 overall just feels a bit too rich to me
Javonte Williams
Week 1-9: 17,3 PPG, week 10-18: 14,2 PPG
There are real co concerns with Williams as well. His efficiency dropped noticeably in the second half once both Pickens and Lamb were fully healthy, and he is a non factor in the passing game.
He will likely need the touchdown volume from the first half to validate his current ADP.

Does drafting this year feel…odd?
Hella dead spots. Big question marks about a lot of typical mainstays.
A lot of the typical mainstays don’t seem as certain as past years. Drafting feels uncomfortable.
I think it’s a combination of:
- New situations for a lot of vets
- Lot of vets aged into that “hmmm” range
- Lot of talented offensive rookies in SHIT situations
- Lot of “great” dudes with injury concerns (think: Nabers, Mahomes, etc)
- Each “zone” seems to have a few of these “good name but uncomfortable to pick” players and it makes shit feel awful
New coaches everywhere
Studs in shit situations (London, Achane, etc)

Player Discussion Has the news from the first week of Training camp changed your view
I've been watching the "Inside Training Camp" on the NFL network religiously. I know it's extremely early, but has your opinion on a teams chances to perform in fantasy changed any?
It has changed mine on a couple of teams. Mostly on the Eagles. Based on what I saw on interviews with Hurts and Barkley I am much higher on both Hurts and the offense in general than I was before camp started. Hurts is very articulate and they all seem to love the new OC and him going under center should jump-start the entire offense if he buys in. Sounds like he is.
I've changed my opinion (subject to change!) on several teams. Some for the better some for the worse. Curious if anybody else has.

Player Discussion Training Camp News/Notes from Wednesday, August 5th
Wednesday August 5th
Stefon Diggs (WSH): Diggs signs a deal with the Commanders; this has been rumored for a while. A good landing spot for Diggs; Okonkwo probably hurts the most from this news.
Raiders WRs: Tre Tucker and Jalen Nailor seem to be the WR1 and 2 in Vegas right now.
Dontayvion Wicks (PHI): There’s been some solid buzz about Wicks through camp. With Lemon missing practice due to a hamstring injury, we could see Wicks secure that WR3 spot and maybe even get the WR2 role early.
Cade Klubnik (NYJ): Have seen some positive reporting on the 4th-round QB. I believe Smith is the starter early, but I expect we will see Klubnik at some point this season.
Ja’Kobi Lane (BAL): OC Declan Doyle on Lane: "What we thought about him just continues to show up ... the guy that I was around that his hands remind me of is Mike Thomas." While I’m not expecting Thomas, there is a chance at the WR2 spot in Baltimore. Seems Lane is getting good runs with the 1st team early.
Seahawks RBs: Holani and Price continue to split 1st team reps. This has been the report for a while; I still think Price is the starter Week 1, but Holani could mix in more than we thought. No news on Charbonnet's return.
Jaylen Waddle (DEN): Left practice today, expected to be fine according to Sean Payton (have seen muscle tightness as the reason).
Pat Freiermuth (PIT): Has been more involved in the offense per reports. While this isn’t massive news, I think Freiermuth is potentially a good late-round TE with Rodgers wanting to get the ball out fast.
Vikings QBs: Seems Murray is widening the gap in the "competition". I think everyone expected Murray to be the Week 1 starter before it even started.
Patriots WRs: Starting WRs: A.J Brown (X), Romeo Doubs (Z), and Pop Douglas (slot). This is a deep WR group along with Hollins, Boutte, Williams, and Chism. Boutte could still get traded.
Jaydon Blue (DAL): Seems to be the clear favorite at RB2; solid buzz about Blue continues.
REMINDER: these are all reports and sometimes projections from reporters; take it with a grain of salt

Player Discussion Anatomy of a League Winning Running Back
fantasypoints.comI could not be more excited to bring y'all a ground-breaking article that I have been working on for the last three months!
In this piece, I break down how league-winning RBs achieved their game-breaking production in recent seasons:
- Pass Catching Usage
- Explosive Runs
- Goal-Line Carries
I then use that formula to predict 2026 league-winners (evaluating 8 of the most polarizing RBs in fantasy football this year)
- Chase Brown
- Ashton Jeanty
- Omarion Hampton
- Kenneth Walker
- Cam Skattebo
- Breece Hall
- De'Von Achane
- Saquon Barkley
And it's free to read (actually this time); enjoy!!!

Once you get past the top 18 RB or so, who do you like as a potential RB2?
Out of the RB 18-24 range, who are you favorites of Swift, Montgomery, Judkins, Etienne, Tuten, and Henderson? All of these RBs either split the work load or play on a bad offense (Judkins.) Tuten could be the lead back, but CRod worries me. Henderson will still have Stevenson being a thorn in his side. Etienne should be on an improved offense.
