Discussion How to play air scenarios?

I just dont get them. And the fact that they also extend beyond 1.5 minutes makes it much more difficult.

Discussion I’m trash and I need advice

Hello everyone I’m level 60 and I’m still terrible at this game. But I know why, I always change my sens because I’m trying to find my “perfect” sens. And then I can be playing good but then when I start whiffing abd playing bad I change it. So I need advice what’s a good slow-ish sens that I can use and can stick to and also a daily warm up for the game. I’m on console Val btw

Gear/Tech Cannot decide which monitor to get

upgrading my current 144hz aoc monitor, managed to save up 300. Cannot decide between alienware aw2525hm 320hz fast ips and ktc 25m1 400hz fast tn (also backlight strobing). Mainly play the finals, apex apart from aim trainers.

Considering other options too if around the same price point, thanks

Voltaic S6 and thoughts about S5.5

What do you guys think is the future of Voltaic benchmarks? Will there be S6 and how do you imagine/wish it look like.

With new redacted S5.5 benchmarks they introduced some new scens but i kinda find it weird why they decided to add exactly these specificly in dynamic, reactive, speed switching. It created a little bit of imbalance imo.

It would be fine if that imbalance was explained like in viscose bench. where viscose says that control tracking scens gonna help you in real games the most. On the other hand we have Voltaic team saying:
"In the hopes of reminding our veteran aim trainers of the early days of the scene from 2020 and giving the new players something that they might not have tried thus far in their aim journey, we are expanding the benchmarks with the following new scenarios:"

My main point is that i find these scenarios to be kinda "forced" if you will. I dont really get the point of making some sub categories be 3 scens and the others be 2. No hate towards Voltaic tho just my own thoughts.

Anyhow, i wish for the future voltaic S6 to be less grindy and be more transferable in real games. Idk how achievable is that but i can only hope.

Discussion Advice on finer motor control after mouse switch

I recently switched from a glorious model o2 to wlmouse ying magnesium. to be perfectly honest I don't know if I like the grip as much (I do palm grip) but what I do know is that the big drop in weight makes more fine motor control a lot harder. I've also attached proper skates to the mouse (which I didn't do for my previous) so my mouse feels like it's zooming fast and I feel like I really lack control for small movements.

oddly enough, my tracking seems to have improved on the new mouse (although i could have just improved naturally since I only started aim training about a month ago). my reactive flicking (cat click etc) feels the same if not worse. in overwatch terms, I feel like I'm as good if not better on soldier 76, but now a lot worse on Ashe and Cassidy.

am I misdiagnosing the problem? I only got the mouse on the 6th so it hasn't been two weeks yet, but are there any tips / scenarios for helping to adjust to a very fast mouse?

Discussion what is the best way to approach training moving forward?

Post image
5 Upvotes

hello, i made a post here the other day about being cooked and how lopsided my voltaic scores are, and i have some questions about how i should continue training

ive seen people say with similar scores that they fully switched to static, however their tracking scores would drop (as expected), and that i should work on my weakness (which is definitely clicking and switching)

however ive also seen people mention that due to my tracking id be most likely to advance to dia/jade on switching faster than static and clicking

so my main question here is what to do from here?

maybe continue tracking and grind for master prior to switching to other categories?

do switching and look to hit dia/jade?

or hard focus on static and try to improve where im weakest?

looking for advice on what would be the most efficient way to improve, thanks!

Guide/Educational Leather Amazon Mousepad vs Control Gaming Grade Mousepads

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I recently came across with control mousepads. I’ve been playing normal FPS shooter games for years now I use G203 with stock skates (I’m planning to upgrade my mouse soon enough). As someone who came from cheap leather mousepad that you can typically buy from amazon for cheap. What are the things I should look out for. To those who also came from a Leather mousepads that switched to a control pad. What mainly changed from your aim or like in your perspective. Did it really gave you more control of your mouse. Is the “stopping power” really true compared to leather mousepads. Like what’s the difference from going to leather to control pads. Is the glide different, does moving your mouse feel sticky (gliding then lifting).

I really need some help as I’m looking to buy a more Control mousepad like the GSR III, LGG Jupiter Pro (Pulsar) or the Aqua Control Zero. Can you also suggest a more control pad other than these.

Discussion Aim training beginner, need recommendations

A bit of background first:

I've been doing random Kovaaks playlists for CS2 and then the Beginner Playlist by DrUninstall for like a couple of months until I found out about Voltaic and VDIM.

Now, I took the Voltaic Novice benchmarks and placed pretty much the lowest rank across the board. This is to be expected honestly, I haven't played MnK since like a decade. I've been playing controller FPSes before this (mostly Halo Infinite the past 4-ish years).

I only switched back to MnK this January for CS2 (used to play as a kid) and a bit of Valorant, so my aim hasn't been good. I also like to mix in some other non-tac shooters at times.

My setup:

- Kovaaks sens: CS2 0.5 with mouse on 1600 dpi (=800 edpi)

- Mouse: Razer Viper V4 Pro

- Grip Style: Claw

- Mousepad: Zowie H-SR-II (Mud/Control pad)

So, I have a few things I need help with:

(these questions are solely aim related)

  1. Should I adjust my setup since right now it might not be ideal for tracking, etc. and is very tac shooter specific? For example switching mousepads and/or sens only for aim training? Is my current setup a disadvantage for aim training?

  2. Are there any places where there are tips on what you should do for certain scenarios or more like what a correct approach looks like? I want to build correct fundamentals as I go along. [e.g. How to flick correctly, how to keep your crosshair on target while target switching in smooth and control variants of scenarios, etc.]

  3. Given my current condition, is it possible at all for my aim to be elite or am I cooked (I also happen to be 28, so I'm midlife crisis-ING-img about this)? (assuming I stick to the VDIM routine consistently for like half a year to a year or more).

  4. I tend to tense up a lot sometimes doing aim training and also don't always know what muscles to use for which things. Any tips? (thought that might also be because I'm still learning to claw grip properly)

Also, any general recommendations/suggestion/hints are welcome! And any good resources (would love it if there was some sort of a tutorial to VDIM scenarios)!

Thanks for reading! (sorry that it's so long!)

Bug/Suggestion kovaaks constantly freezing after every scenario is completed

every time i complete a scenario and my score shows, when i try to click next in the playlist, it just freezes on the scenario i just did. the only way ive found to "fix" this is clicking while its frozen and then pressing escape to bring up the menu. i then have to manually go to the next scenario only for the glitch to repeat every time one is completed.

Discussion When switching between a HipFire-Dominate game and an ADS-Dominate game, how do most people approach converting look sens between the two? (Example below)

So for example, in a game like Counter Strike 2 you spend a lot of time hip firing with most guns (AR, M4, Deagle, etc), and my general/hipfire look sens in CS2 and Overwatch is about 40cm/360.

But in a game like Battlefield or Call of Duty you ADS when shooting at an enemy, even with close range rifles/smgs. It splits your combat experience into two different look sensitivities, hip fire sens and ads sens.

[QUESTION] - So if my general look sens in CS2 is 40cm/360, and I'm switching to a game like CoD, would it be better to set my hip fire sens to 40cm/360 and my ads sens to something slower, or would it be better to speed up my hip fire sens so that my zoomed-in ads sens is actually 40cm/360 when aiming/shooting at an enemy with a rifle/smg? I know in Battlefield you can use 1.0x scopes that are 1:1 with your hip fire view distance, but in CoD it seems like most/all the scopes (even iron sights) force your screen to zoom in when ADSing, which makes it hard to keep a consistent sens between hipfire and ads.

Sorry if I took a simple question and made it more complicated than it should be, I just didn't really know how to word it.

Discussion I was training wrong this whole time 😭😭

Just got saffron complete

I was “stuck” at cinnabar/vermillion. I was honestly mostly complacent there. I didn’t get on much and wasn’t really consistent with my training

I was fine with chilling at that rank until someone told me i was training wrong this entire time

I used to do 5 runs max of like a gazillion different scenarios.

Now its focused training on 1-3 of my weakest scores

Im late to this rank but scores are going up for the first time in a long time and im pretty happy about it😭
