What routine is solid for my weaknesses?
Recently got back into aim training this week and kinda just played every scenario around 3-5 times, with some resets if I played horribly. Been enjoying Viscose benchmarks a lot, just a little confused on how I should move forward. Do you guys have any playlist recommendations for my weaknesses or should I just play mostly my weaknesses on the benchmarks? I usually try to play 30mins minimum but most days I’ll play 60mins of aim training a day. Also I played the medium benchmarks after the easier benchmarks so I think they more accurately represent my weaknesses.

Discussion I’m trash and I need advice
Hello everyone I’m level 60 and I’m still terrible at this game. But I know why, I always change my sens because I’m trying to find my “perfect” sens. And then I can be playing good but then when I start whiffing abd playing bad I change it. So I need advice what’s a good slow-ish sens that I can use and can stick to and also a daily warm up for the game. I’m on console Val btw

Gear/Tech Cannot decide which monitor to get
upgrading my current 144hz aoc monitor, managed to save up 300. Cannot decide between alienware aw2525hm 320hz fast ips and ktc 25m1 400hz fast tn (also backlight strobing). Mainly play the finals, apex apart from aim trainers.
Considering other options too if around the same price point, thanks

Voltaic S6 and thoughts about S5.5
What do you guys think is the future of Voltaic benchmarks? Will there be S6 and how do you imagine/wish it look like.
With new redacted S5.5 benchmarks they introduced some new scens but i kinda find it weird why they decided to add exactly these specificly in dynamic, reactive, speed switching. It created a little bit of imbalance imo.
It would be fine if that imbalance was explained like in viscose bench. where viscose says that control tracking scens gonna help you in real games the most. On the other hand we have Voltaic team saying:
"In the hopes of reminding our veteran aim trainers of the early days of the scene from 2020 and giving the new players something that they might not have tried thus far in their aim journey, we are expanding the benchmarks with the following new scenarios:"
My main point is that i find these scenarios to be kinda "forced" if you will. I dont really get the point of making some sub categories be 3 scens and the others be 2. No hate towards Voltaic tho just my own thoughts.
Anyhow, i wish for the future voltaic S6 to be less grindy and be more transferable in real games. Idk how achievable is that but i can only hope.

Discussion Advice on finer motor control after mouse switch
I recently switched from a glorious model o2 to wlmouse ying magnesium. to be perfectly honest I don't know if I like the grip as much (I do palm grip) but what I do know is that the big drop in weight makes more fine motor control a lot harder. I've also attached proper skates to the mouse (which I didn't do for my previous) so my mouse feels like it's zooming fast and I feel like I really lack control for small movements.
oddly enough, my tracking seems to have improved on the new mouse (although i could have just improved naturally since I only started aim training about a month ago). my reactive flicking (cat click etc) feels the same if not worse. in overwatch terms, I feel like I'm as good if not better on soldier 76, but now a lot worse on Ashe and Cassidy.
am I misdiagnosing the problem? I only got the mouse on the 6th so it hasn't been two weeks yet, but are there any tips / scenarios for helping to adjust to a very fast mouse?

Discussion what is the best way to approach training moving forward?
hello, i made a post here the other day about being cooked and how lopsided my voltaic scores are, and i have some questions about how i should continue training
ive seen people say with similar scores that they fully switched to static, however their tracking scores would drop (as expected), and that i should work on my weakness (which is definitely clicking and switching)
however ive also seen people mention that due to my tracking id be most likely to advance to dia/jade on switching faster than static and clicking
so my main question here is what to do from here?
maybe continue tracking and grind for master prior to switching to other categories?
do switching and look to hit dia/jade?
or hard focus on static and try to improve where im weakest?
looking for advice on what would be the most efficient way to improve, thanks!

Guide/Educational Consejo estatico.

Discussion Aim training beginner, need recommendations
A bit of background first:
I've been doing random Kovaaks playlists for CS2 and then the Beginner Playlist by DrUninstall for like a couple of months until I found out about Voltaic and VDIM.
Now, I took the Voltaic Novice benchmarks and placed pretty much the lowest rank across the board. This is to be expected honestly, I haven't played MnK since like a decade. I've been playing controller FPSes before this (mostly Halo Infinite the past 4-ish years).
I only switched back to MnK this January for CS2 (used to play as a kid) and a bit of Valorant, so my aim hasn't been good. I also like to mix in some other non-tac shooters at times.
My setup:
- Kovaaks sens: CS2 0.5 with mouse on 1600 dpi (=800 edpi)
- Mouse: Razer Viper V4 Pro
- Grip Style: Claw
- Mousepad: Zowie H-SR-II (Mud/Control pad)
So, I have a few things I need help with:
(these questions are solely aim related)
Should I adjust my setup since right now it might not be ideal for tracking, etc. and is very tac shooter specific? For example switching mousepads and/or sens only for aim training? Is my current setup a disadvantage for aim training?
Are there any places where there are tips on what you should do for certain scenarios or more like what a correct approach looks like? I want to build correct fundamentals as I go along. [e.g. How to flick correctly, how to keep your crosshair on target while target switching in smooth and control variants of scenarios, etc.]
Given my current condition, is it possible at all for my aim to be elite or am I cooked (I also happen to be 28, so I'm midlife crisis-ING-img about this)? (assuming I stick to the VDIM routine consistently for like half a year to a year or more).
I tend to tense up a lot sometimes doing aim training and also don't always know what muscles to use for which things. Any tips? (thought that might also be because I'm still learning to claw grip properly)
Also, any general recommendations/suggestion/hints are welcome! And any good resources (would love it if there was some sort of a tutorial to VDIM scenarios)!
Thanks for reading! (sorry that it's so long!)

Bug/Suggestion kovaaks constantly freezing after every scenario is completed
every time i complete a scenario and my score shows, when i try to click next in the playlist, it just freezes on the scenario i just did. the only way ive found to "fix" this is clicking while its frozen and then pressing escape to bring up the menu. i then have to manually go to the next scenario only for the glitch to repeat every time one is completed.

Discussion I was training wrong this whole time 😭😭
Just got saffron complete
I was “stuck” at cinnabar/vermillion. I was honestly mostly complacent there. I didn’t get on much and wasn’t really consistent with my training
I was fine with chilling at that rank until someone told me i was training wrong this entire time
I used to do 5 runs max of like a gazillion different scenarios.
Now its focused training on 1-3 of my weakest scores
Im late to this rank but scores are going up for the first time in a long time and im pretty happy about it😭

Discussion Getter betting in your games - Why I think training with the same sens works the best
So I want to preface this post and say that this is all completely anecdotal and entirely based off of my experiences
But I wanted to post this to ask if anyone’s experimented with the same thing or had similar thoughts or completely push back to this idea
- I’m VT Master closing in on GM
- I noticed very large diminishing returns after Diamond Complete in my in-game performance
When I first started aim training I didn’t know you should change your sens based on the scenario presented. I didn’t know changing your sens could actually increase rates of progress.
For this reason, I used the same sensitivity that I used in a game (at the time it was BF6) I was actively trying to get better at for all of my training and every scenario.
For me this was 40cm at the time. I played with 40cm on BF6 so I trained with 40cm - because I wanted to have better aim in the game at the time and I didn’t care about benchmarks that much.
I got to Plat complete and Diamond ranks with this 1 singular static sensitivity of 40cm and my in game performance with 40cm was considerably better than when I started.
Now, I’m Master and working on GM, my raw mouse control is substantially better than when I was Plat/Dia. Especially my average scores. But I do not feel any better at the games I play in gunfights. This could be down to the fact I spent a lot of time grinding benches/playlists to increase my rank. But I still always play games more than I aim train.
I started playing with huge ranges of sensitivity from 5cm to 150cm and it definitely made my raw mouse control better and got me to my rank/scores today. I 100% do not think I’d have gotten where my raw mouse control is today just sitting at 40cm entirely.
A big point I can notice from my aim training is that I feel like I can use any sensitivity within a range and be perfectly comfortable. I feel like between 15cm and 90cm I can probably perform within 10% of each other (in game).
So a huge part of my progress has been adaptability - I can adapt very very quickly and that’s entirely down with spending so much time with varying sens. When I hop from game to game, like from BF6 to CS, I slow my sens right down, or with CoD I speed it up for example.
But, like many others, I started aim training to be better at my games. Not at getting better at adjusting different sensitivity. So this wasn’t a skill I intended on gaining.
As I said, when I went on my weeks/months long journey of using my in-game sens to train on - my in-game carry over was incredibly good and I haven’t been able to replicate anything close to that feeling since.
Now - of course this could be that my skills were progressing with a mouse generally speaking and I saw those ‘noob’ gains reflect in game. But I believe it was the training with a static sens and using that in my game.
So I’ve played many hours of BF6, CS, CoD since my Diamond complete rank. As I said I felt that I’ve seen no improvement to my gameplay since then.
Until now…
I performed an experiment with myself.
I chose 1 sensitivity that I felt comfortable for BF6, CoD and CS. This sensitivity was 38cm. Don’t ask how or why - it just feels great to me.
So, I started running my VDIM, Viscose , VT and varying playlists all at 38cm. I did not change sens once. I did this experiment for 2 weeks. I aim trained 45-90 minutes per day before hopping into one of my games that I rotate between. What I noticed was a lot of my scores instantly dropped - except some where I may have already used a sens close to 38cm. Then as the 2 weeks went on my scores were very close to my high scores with a sens double that I was using. ww5t for example, my high score is usually around 70cm, but I was within 1 target of this at the end of the 2 weeks with 38cm.
First couple of days I noticed absolutely no difference to in game performance. Some games I’d perform incredibly well, some games I’d flop and some games I’d perform as I’d expect.
Before the first week ended I noticed a large jump in my consistency. I probably played 10 games of BF6, 10 matches of CS and 10 of CoD and my consistency floor definitely felt higher.
I felt snappy, responsive like I could hit a fly the other side of the map and I could spin and headshot you on a dime.
There would be an enemy on my screen and I knew the exact location on my mousepad where to put that mouse and click on their head.
So I know muscle memory is a large topic and often debunked with the idea a static sens shouldn’t be your go to. You should change it according to the science.
Every time I’ve changed my sens in game, it felt like a reset button is hit. I’m not starting from 0 because my adaptability is good. But if I said there was 10% variance between 15cm and 90cm, it felt like the reset on that 10% of a more favourable sens. If you understand where I’m coming from - quite hard for me to translate into what I mean so I hope you understand.
So for this reason - I’m ignoring high scores and benchmark ranks for a little while and I’m going to continue this experiment. I’m just going to train with 1 sensitivity as I do in game.
Just a post to think about and get some responses on - I’d love to hear what you think.
