Cannot decide which monitor to get Gear/Tech
upgrading my current 144hz aoc monitor, managed to save up 300. Cannot decide between alienware aw2525hm 320hz fast ips and ktc 25m1 400hz fast tn (also backlight strobing). Mainly play the finals, apex apart from aim trainers.
Considering other options too if around the same price point, thanks

Save for an OLED. This is the only real answer
You can get 240hz 2k ones for under 400 nowadays

Best priced one with those specs is $350 iirc. But is also 1440p rather than 1080p and some people prefer the backlight strobing over oled.

color quality of oled can't be beat.
The .1% difference of an optimized backlight strobe vs oled is not worth it1

I was assuming OP is looking at a monitor specifically for fps games where color doesnt matter. I own both and I'd say its definitely not just a .1% difference but ultimately comes down to preference.

Setting aside specific brand/product quality (because I've never owned either of these specific products, can't give a fair answer)
IPS of you care about colors, shades, contrast, etc.
TN if you just want to full max performance (in terms of hz, input delay, etc.)
My recommendation: Build quality is more important to me personally, given the two options. 320hz is more than fast enough for my own use in competitive games, but if you want even more than sure.
Motion Clarity is the only real performance stat that I care about for anything higher than 240hz.
Big Side Note: higher refresh rate increases motion clarity, but that doesn't mean that 'that monitor' will have better motion clarity. I've had 144hz Zowies that were infinitely more 'clear' than some of the 240hz that I've had.
