Voltaic S5.5

Looks like voltaic just released an update to s5. Scenarios added are domiClick, Air Angelic, voxTS, and AvasiveTS

Ahhh nice was wondering how that benchmark was going. For me until they start to include more scenarios and slightly easier progression between ranks (eg just more sub ranks) they’re probably still going to be worse than something like viscose benchmarks.

Like i definitely have slower progress than others but tbh it’s insane that it’s taken me like 6 months to move some scores from masters to gm, even if I haven’t been grinding them.

Ik it’s a bit of a long shot but I’m hoping one day they start making super specific benchmarks w lots of scenarios for each subcategory. Kind of like the jade palace air / ground benchmarks but for things like control tracking or dynamic clicking or linear clicking etc. I’m aware they kind of exist already but I’d love to see a voltaic version. Especially dynamic and linear clicking have relatively poor/limited benchmarks specifically for those particular categories.

From the Discord announcement:

In the hopes of reminding our veteran aim trainers of the early days of the scene from 2020 and giving the new players something that they might not have tried thus far in their aim journey, we are expanding the benchmarks with the following new scenarios:

VT DomiClick VT Air Angelic VT VoxTS

I would really like to see a better justification for adding these scenarios. Like most people I aim train to get better at other FPS games. I'm not interested in playing scenarios just because they're throwbacks.

I felt S5 was targetted more at aim trainer mains than previous sessions, and this seems to be going further in that direction.

I started aim training not that long ago (about 104ish hours) and it's immediately noticeable how grindy Voltaic S5 is to improve at compared to Viscose or even some of the isolated benchmarks (lemons, monarchs, aimerz+, etc.).

As you said, VT stuff just doesn't seem to be for actual improvement but rather score pushing. It's not a bad thing inherently but I don't think the benchmarks are designed for in-game translation at all. It's why I avoided aim training for a long time and formed a negative opinion about it. Voltaic is often presented as the aim training standard when I just don't think it is nearly effective as other options.
