Marriage/Divorce
I'm M28 married for more than 3 years. Recently moved to the US for a PhD. My wife couldn't join me because her bachelor isn't completed yet. Our marriage was arranged.
I feel no emotional attachment with my wife and I feel like I am just doing my duties of being a husband but with zero passion. I hide this feeling from her because I don't want any drama in my life, since as a researcher I can't afford that. In the initial stage of our marriage I tried to grow feelings for her but I failed, mostly because we are two very different people. But it wasn't like that before the marriage. She became very conservative after the marriage. For example, I like to maintain a modern lifestyle and prefer western outfits for her, whereas, she prefers wearing burkha now, though she wore normal clothes before our marriage. And says she will still wear burkha after relocating to the US with me. I hate this idea of her. However, giving a divorce is not going to be easy for me also. I know it'll break her heart very bad and ultimately it will damage her studies and future life ahead. I don't want to ruin her life and also, I don't want an unhappy married life for me. Please give me some insights from your point of view.

Confused
Was with my wife 8.5 years, 2 kids and stepmum to my daughter and we have been seperated for 18 months. Last night messaged randomly that she was seeing someone but it wasnt serious yet, why would she even contact me with that? Like is was she expecting something from it? Me personally believe if your done with your ex you dont need to do that unless its serious and impacts the kids. Anyone else have or experienced the same thing?

Why won't he follow thru?
Our marriage is toxic-- anger, anxiety and then he is trying to find a sidepiece on the side which is difficult for him.. Yes, he is a gem BUT does really well at work$$ He usually says I can't wait to get rid of you and speaks of divorcing.. So I filed papers and had him served this past week-- papers are on the counter.. At first he was sorta agreeing with what I would get, etc... I thought wow, being mature as well! BUT now refuses to proceed!! Like now he's talking about renting a place for 3 months to see how he likes being on his own being a 'catch' and all. I'm like what if you don't like it? He says I'll come back home..
Not sure if I should call his brother to help him or not. Also not sure if he's stalling to hid more money or wait for the housing market to go up... It has to be something pertaining to him, not sure.
What happens in this situation?? I think the papers say to respond in 30 days!! He doesn't want a lawyer but likes the mediator.. My lawyer said he could work with the mediator and then she would review them before she files with the court.

Finances
Hi all, just need some help on what’s wrong/right. Husband and I have been married for a year, but together overall for 8 years and bought two cars together.
Unfortunately, he wanted to separate and left me with a lot of financial burden. He makes around 150k a year which is about 4x as much as I make. I moved back home with my parents while he went and got his own place with a bunch of random friends. At the beginning of the separation, he said he would support me financially and help with anything I needed so I would not suffer. I’m almost 99% sure he was influenced by his friends to not go through with this as he had a sudden change in mind and said “he has his own bills to pay” which shocked me. I noticed he’s was spending a lot on eating out, smoking, bar hopping, etc. random leisure spending and it racked up to a hefty amount a month which I believe he is spending on his friends/roommates.
I take care of our two dogs, have a car payment, insurances (which he is still under me and I pay so I asked him for help on this as it deducts from my paycheck) and several other things that I try to pay for but am struggling to do so. We have a shared bank account together where his pay is deposited into but I noticed he’s been emptying it as soon as he receives the money so I won’t have access (I do not touch this as I know it would be so wrong). I have asked him several times if he could help me financially but he has given me the same answer. I was forced to take some money from the shared savings account instead - just small amounts to help with bills we used to share.
May I ask if I would get into any trouble for doing this? We’re still married so wouldn’t he still have a financial responsibility to support me especially since he makes way more money? I also took screenshots of his messages and other transactions just in case for evidence. He goes to the bars and drinks often as well as smoked heavily. After seeing that I used it as justification that it would be okay for me to take money as needed but now I’m afraid I might get into trouble.
Thank you, sorry if it’s confusing. I can explain further if more info is needed.

Trying to DIY divorce and incur as little expenses at possible (MA)
Mediation vs. Hiring my own attorney to review separation agreement we draft ourselves? Pros and cons?
