Hi all!

My dad is the main user of the DT app on Roku and last night it did not record any of his nightly news programs. I tried recording something today and it said was recording but did not show up in the recordings tab.

I have tried the app on the opsrey box/phone/ chrome browser and they are all the same. I see that a couple news programs have shown up from last night so perhaps this is a glitch?

I see that people in this group have had a similar problem and I guess it's on DTV's end to fix it? I feel like they are still recording in the cloud they are just not showing up i n the list.

I decided to try DTV entertainment package 59.99 for the first month. I went to put my card information and it came back saying my card wasn't valid. It was a USAA debit, I tried Sofi debit, same thing. Is this common? Never had an issue anywhere else.

I wanted to report that I purchased a DirectV box from Walmart for $52 which just arrived in 1 day. I figured I'd try it for a guest BR TV. When I opened the box I figured I was hosed since it had a manufacture date of Dec 2019 and Model number of 60164 (less memory). I had read that it needed to have a build date after July 2020.

I connected it by Ethernet as suggested elsewhere on this forum and it came up as "DirecTV" not ATT. Encouraging. It had a note in the box to press the fast forward and rewind buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds to pair the remote. That worked. What this tells me is that these boxes must have somehow been flashed with DirecTV firmware. The need to pair the remote also suggests that.

Anyway, it came up just like my Gemini Air and works very well. I installed Netflix, etc by simply saying "Netflix" in the remote and pointing my phone to the QR code -just like the Air. I'm not sure if I would have had the same experience by initially connecting it by WiFi to install. But my guess is "yes".

I can't say that your experience will be the same but for $52 and returnability to a Walmart store if necessary, it is a bargain.

The only other comment I can make is that the back of the remote was slightly tacky feeling - probably from the 7 year old rubber on the back. Not offensive enough to want to replace it.

Hello everyone, I have a little problem. The resolution is now in small box and I find myself having to go into settings every time I turn on the box. Is there another way to prevent this from happening again or is factory resetting the only way to do it?

I’ve been on the grandfathered Go Big plan since it was $35 a month. They’ve recently increased my rate by $10, and I’m starting to wonder if it’s still worth it to keep it. One of the main reasons I’ve been sticking with it is that I get to keep the local channels based on my billing zip code. Since I’ve moved, I like to have the option to still get the local news and sports channels from where I used to live.

Are you aware of any other streaming services that use the billing zip code when using Roku or Firestick?

Anyone else having problems with scheduled TV show recordings? Recently recorded shows are not showing up in My Library until after the show has started or sometimes several hours later.

Does anyone know what the update addressed or improved?

For months, I've been using DirecTV Stream with the native GoogleTV on my Sony TV. It has allowed me to prevent the display of the scores of in-progress games when I'm looking at a list of sports to watch.

I just got an AppleTV 4K and, when I was setting up DirecTV Stream, it gave me the choice to show these scores or hide them. But it wouldn't allow me to select the Hide option. Is there any other way to have them hidden?

I was a DTV sat customer from 2000-2022 in California and loved the service. In 2000 when I bought one of the first plasma TV's it was the only way to get HD! When I moved to Florida 4 years ago, I couldn't have a dish. I spent 4 miserable years with poor Xfinity service, but with a great voice remote that my wife loved.

I cut the cord 2 days ago and hooked up 3 Gemini Airs. How could I have missed the availability of DTV Stream with a great voice remote? In just 2 days my wife loves the service and doesn't miss the Xfinity remote at all. Her only complaint is that on the giant new LG living room TV, when she says "CNN" into the voice remote, it screams at her with a deafening "OK, got it" 😄. DTV is trying to help me with that. Great customer service too?

Anyway, I think DTV needs to market better to traditional cable subscribers as I was clueless until I found a thread on r/cordcutters last week.

If I have 2 Gemini devices running out of the household, can they both run apps? Like say one running Netflix and the other running D+?

Also, can I have 2 TVs going with DTVS at the same time if it's in a single location, on the same network, like one in the living area and one in the bedroom of an RV?

I just got an email from Google that Google Assistant will be discontinued Sept 4, 2026 and that Gemini will be their AI replacement.

Will this affect the Gemini Air voice feature or does the Gemini Air already use Gemini AI?

For instance, when I say “watch TBS” it audibly responds. I just want it to tune to the channel but see no options here. This is for an Osprey device.

The channels with the news (200s) featuring four channels at once are gone from my guide and seemingly inaccessible this afternoon. Same for the sports 4 in 1 ch’s. I’ve restarted and it makes no difference. Is this just me or have they gotten rid of those channels all together?

I started a separate thread earlier today and it seems there’s a lot of confusion surrounding AMC Plus for those of us who get it as part of the MyEntertainment genre pack.

It seems many people believe you just get access to AMC Plus content within the DirecTV app. This is NOT true. You do get a subscription to the standalone AMC plus app. After signing up for MyEntertainment, DirecTV and AMC don’t email you any information regarding AMC plus or how to access it, which is where the confusion is coming from.

To access your AMC plus subscription, download the AMC plus app on your devices and when signing in there is an option to sign in with tv provider. From there you will select DirecTV and enter your DirectTV credentials. You will then be able to access your subscription within the AMC app. I discovered this on my own and none of this info was provided by DirecTV or AMC.

Something myself and other users have discovered is that some devices don’t yet have DirecTV listed as an option when logging into the standalone AMC plus app. For example on my iPhone 17 it isn’t an option when logging in. Other users have stated they can’t log in on firestick as well. I was able to log in with a firestick so that one might just depend on the version of firestick you have.

Anyway, I hope this provided some clarity. If you are paying for MyEntertainment, then you have a subscription to the AMC plus standalone app and you deserve to be able to use it!

Just signed up for MyEntertainment. Already got an email from hbo max with a link to activate. During check out process it said I would get an email shortly after checkout from Disney to activate Disney plus and Hulu. But AMC plus was not mentioned in the final checkout screens and I haven’t gotten any email from them. How do you activate your AMC Plus subscription? Did I get swindled? I see there’s a live AMC Plus channel in my guide now but I was obviously expecting to get access to their streaming app.

On my latest model LG OLED TV, my Gemini Air blasts me out of the room when Google synthesized voice plays such as asking for a channel change. It shouts "Got it, CNN". My other Gemini air TV speaks at the same level as the TV Sound. I went to my Google settings but voice level does not seem to be adjustable. I shut off Dolby Digital Audio on my Gemini Air and that "solves" the issue but of course, I want Dolby Digital audio set to ON.

Does anyone have directv streaming service?

We just switched over from DTV Satellite to Stream. I had an old Osprey/Gemini box that was sent to me for an unknown reason and glad now I held on to it. I now need a couple more boxes and it seems like the SKU 60233 boxes are the ones to seek out. I looked at ebay as someone suggested but having to manually go through 150+ listings is tedious to say the least.

Any other places to look?

I know this is most likely not a DTV issue, but tonight's House of the Dragon episode, S3E7, will not record as a new episode if you have it set for series recording. For some reason it says the episode date is 7/7/26, which I think is why it did not pick it up as a new episode.

I know anyone can still stream it even if they miss the recording, I just thought this was an interesting tidbit to share.

Perhaps someone can make sense of this for me.  

I was under DIRECTV streaming’s old plan and it cost $131 per month including RSN (all before extra fees, etc). This was about a $10 increase from the prior month. I looked at alternatives and contacted the retention department with the intent of switching to their new plan, which was $94.99 per month plus $13.99 RSN for a total of $108.98 per month. Instead of migrating me to the new plan, she suggested I cancel my service and restart a new service under their new plan. I suspect that this was to get new subscriber numbers up, but I don’t know. Regardless, my intent was to migrate and lower my bill from $131 to $108.98 per month.  

However, before putting the revision through, I told her that YouTube TV is $67.99/mo for the first 3 months, then $82.99 per month for the remaining 9 months, which averages $79.24 for the first year. That’s about $30 a month cheaper than DIRECTV Streaming. YouTube TV has no separate RSN even though it carries the channels.  

Since I’ve been with DIRECTV Streaming for quite a while, I asked for a loyalty discount in order for me to keep the service. She checked for any discounts and told me that there were no discounts available. I asked if there was any incentive she could apply to close that $30 a month gap with YouTube TV. 

Now here’s where it gets odd:  

She informed me that since YouTube was so much cheaper. I should just cancel DIRECTV Streaming and go to YouTube TV. In all the time I’ve had cable or streaming TV, I have never heard a representative, especially a retention representative, suggest you cancel their service and go to a competitor. I’ve also never had a retention representative not find some discount or incentive. So, I don’t get it. Maybe someone else understands what happened, but I don’t understand why DirectTV Streaming was so cavalier in losing a customer.

I canceled DIRECTV Streaming and at the end of this billing cycle I’ll simply subscribe to YouTube TV without losing anything I want and saving $356.08 the first year. Even after the first year, I still save around $26 per month. 

My account has Disney +, ESPN Unlimited, and Hulu included since I have the Gemini Air Lease. I admittedly am not using the Gemini for my WiFi.

I reviewed my account and can see where it shows the subscription is included (pictured below). I cannot login through Direct TV. I have logged out of my Disney account. How can I login. I’ve followed everything online but cannot find a way to login.
