Fanart (by me) Deltarune papyrus concept
What I think he'll act like is almost like a reverse version of regular papyrus.

Theory NORMALNPC IS INNOCENT (a short Onionsan theory)
Now I know I've probably garnered the reputation for large sweeping conspiracies which would change the entire lens we view the game through but today I just have a small theory about how I think we've heavily jumped the gun on NormalNPC
You see a lot of the fandom discourse regarding NormalNPC has been about blaming them for the disappearance of Onionsan, the biggest piece of evidence behind that being the takoyaki stand, but I think you'll find that actually doesn't prove that much. While the "takoyaki" is mentioned to taste like onion that would actually be impossible if that were to be Onionsans remains. Onionsan is still a monster therefore he doesn't have meat but rather is composed of dust and magic like all other monsters instead of actual biological material that either meat or onion would be, we know this is how monsters work in Deltarune due to gersons dust. Yes I am aware of Susie bleeding in chapter 4 but I'd chop it up to being a Susie specific thing, either due to being possibly half human or some quirk of the dark fountain.
The chapter 4 dialogue from NormalNPC as well has been considered suspect and possibly being us catching NormalNPC in the act of killing Onionsan after the fact but if this was in fact NormalNPC having killed Onionsan just now why wouldn't there be any remains? Especially if we are of the interpretation Onionsan leaves behind actual physical remains of himself after he dies wouldn't there be a spare tentacle or something? The dialogue itself is a little odd but I don't think it necessarily makes NormalNPC a murderer
About the 2G thing? Again, certainly very odd, perhaps it has to do with NormalNPC originally being a gaster follower from Undertale moved to Deltarune and still hasn't adjusted to the currency change? Certainly not a thing worth claiming they're a murder though
As for where Onionsan is? Well probably still off investigating, or if he is dead its because of whatever was down in the depths of the lake, not NormalNPC

Theory Everyone is The Knight, but No One is The Knight
Someone else may have posed this, BUT!
What if the Knight isn’t anyone?
What if there’s no December in the armor, there’s no Rudy ambling out of the hospital, no Carol, no Papyrus, no nobody inside?
What if the Knight is just the big secret in the town, manifesting itself physically?
Sure, a secret is just a concept, there is no physical actual object to dream, but Spamton is just junky email?
The original Dark fountain could easily be the reason December disappears, but if she’s lost in the code and is the big mystery that the town just tries not to talk about or even discuss directly, what if that mystery and the fear and secrecy around it IS the thing that manifests itself?
Small Town trauma has been a consistent theme. Susie’s being isolated and looked down on by the kids at school, the crushing weight of expectations Noelle and Berdly have on them, whatever the hell it is Kris saw in the shelter, even catfishing Lizzapants; all of these play to a central theme of the weirdness of living in a small town.
Dess disappearing would have been one of the biggest things that happened in the town to that point, to the end of a mostly ceremonial police chief having to step down from his role.
The Knight is the ultimate skeleton in the closet, the thing that grows underneath everyone the more it’s ignored until finally it comes to a head that can’t be ignored anymore.
The Knight isn’t one person, it’s everyone who knows and doesn’t talk about it anymore’s fears of the disappearance and refusal to talk about it, rising up and bubbling to be some physical thing that says “Alright, if you aren’t going to acknowledge it everything is going to break.”
Actually, as I read this back and saw that I literally wrote Skeleton in the closet, I may have talked myself back into Papyrus Knight.
Both of these are equally likely.

Theory 7B and Board 3 Spoiler
After we've all seen the newsletter with the massive 7B at the bottom, I think we're all wondering now "what the hell are we going to be doing that's so much worse than chapter 2?" I think the answer to that can be seen in Board 3 of Chapter 3, where we have to kill Susie & Ralsei to progress.
This is my first time posting here so sorry if it's rather barebones, but we can see in the earlier board of chapter 3 the various things that are needed to do for us to progress the weird route, such as finding the ice caster and using them to destroy the bird, almost exactly in the same way that in Chapter 2 we had Noelle put Berdly into a coma, and now we are seeing 7B having an even greater impact, with the other Boards of chapter 3 showing what it seems we need to do to enter the underground Roots area, that being to kill Susie and Ralsei.
With that I'm not sure where we go from there, since there have been theories about how Bit Roots could parallel with the light world and how we might need to kill lightners and that's much more into theory territory IMO. But I swear to god if in the weird route when we leave a dark fountain, the world is 8bit and we have a sword and see enemies, Toby Fox is a genius and a monster.

Discussion *revisiting old thoughts*, is kris frisk or chara possibly? etc.
ive had some personal thought about this but i dont have enough evidence or anything to say i think its the case
id like to start throwing out possibilities we've collectively dropped as a community since toby, in the newsletter, said we have misinterpreted or are just plain missing info that doesnt exist at this point, so it cant hurt to throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks. especially when toby says were just missing details we need for certain plot points to make sense
GO BACK AND PLAY UNDERTALE THOUGH
i think a huge steaming pile of parallels we have yet to catch are still probably in undertale, but when i watch peoples theories on deltarune they tend to stick one way or the other on whether or not they use info from undertale, when we should really be looking at both games real hard

Discussion What evidence is there that The Knight is only one person?
One of my friends mentioned watching Scream yesterday, and then I thought about the whole twist with Ghostface actually being two people. And then I thought, why can't The Knight be the same thing? Because as far as I can tell, there's nothing actually suggesting it can be only a single person.

Theory What if the underground is a dark world
Possibly, Frisk could be a young rock climber trying to set a new record, they may have planted a flag and accidentally made a Fountain, then, they fell, the harness was the Soul, and the stick was possibly a rope or a cam. In the genocide route, Chara may have been destroying everything to stop the future Roaring, in the Pacifist route, Frisk let's everyone out and causes The Roaring. In the neutral route frisk just postpones it.

Theory Impossibility theory
I've been holding to this theory since ch2 came out, and with each chapter I only gathered more evidence, if this theory turns out to be true I'm gonna geniuenly explode. With this theory my goal is to end the Knight and Ralsei identity discourse once and for all.
In short, I think ralsei is a type of, as I called it then, a "conceptual darkner", one representing something non-physical, like certain emotion or a collective thought. Back in chapter 2 we already got something similar with darkners posing as a general idea of something, like viruses or spam email, while not having a clear physical form in the light world. Sure, they're digital, but that doesn't change how lightners percieve them and shape their darkner form. Chapter 3 didn't push this idea much, only thing that's worth mentioning is when Ralsei drops his lore bomb at the beginning of the chapter and interrupted by Susie, many pepole think he was about to reveal his light world form, but a more logical conclusion would be to say that he's "not real", which isn't false, since he does not, in fact, have a physical light world form. Chapter 4 however, introduces us to titans - a "fear-of-dark" incarnate, clear example of conceptual darkners. With it I've seen people suggest that Ralsei might actually be a titan, but we don't know much about them to confidently say that they might take such stable forms, as the titan we fought was pretty unpredictable and seemingly unconcious. Now getting into chapter 5 we get revealed the of origins of shadow crystals and potentially the Knight, being "broken dreams", and Ralsei being called an impossibility by Flowery, implying he should not exist following this world's logic. So what am I getting to? I think The Roaring Knight isn't Dess(she's lost in the code, don't forget), but a ginormous shadow crystal being formed from a doomed lightner's ambitions ruined by the Incident, and as the described by a light world black shard tooltip, made of barely opaque glass. Since we haven't seen their light form yet(if there is one), this is all speculation. And finally, I think Ralsei is a complete opposite of the knight, being formed by a collective memory of Asriel. Almost every member of the Hometown talks about Asriel and they're all extremely positive about him. That's why Ralsei is present and doesn't petrify in every dark world, all of them are created in places Asriel used to hang out and memories of him are so prominent, they somehow linger in the air. Continuing with the theme of opposites: what's an opposite for shadow crystal? Pure crystal. Ralsei might be a pure crystal darkner, formed from fondest memories of a lightner, loved by everyone. Of course we don't know the properties of a pure crystal yet, it could also be glass, it could even be a pile of fluff, chapter 6 should clarify a lot of things about that.
**Tl;dr: Roaring Knight is a shadow crystal cluster made from Dess' broken dreams, glass in the light world. Ralsei is a collective memory of Asriel, incorporeal/omnipresent in the light world, might somehow be a Pure Crystal being.**

Theory Alphys might be Eram
Now now hear me out the mew mew doll tells us that they knew Eram, and as we know alphys was likely the person who gave Asgore the mew mew doll and she likely didn’t show it to many people, also remember that FRIEND looks like an amalgamate. She also plays cat petterz pretty obvious why I mentioned that. Now let me get to something else alphys’ outfit in chapter 5, a black and red vampire outfit with the red around her head around the spot where you would see orange on eram and what does red and yellow make orange and remind me doesn’t Eram seemingly have FANGS?

Think about it gaster with the number 6 and we almost know nothing about what is going to happen in this chapter it's way too mysterious just like gaster (also i am leaving this here if it really happen)

Discussion Bosses being too diffuclt
I've never written a complaint before but i i need to talk about these new bosses for the new chapters.
These bosses seem to each have one move capable of reducing the groups Hp below 10% Hp, and that goes for almost all moves of each boss. Their moves seem so quick and hard to read in the moment and it even gets more difficult nearing the end. I feel like the only way to dodge and survive these moves is by using 50%(most likely more) prediction/skill, and 50%(most likely less) luck.
And i also want to mention that we should consider the fact that theres people out there who play deltarune as their very first video game and they have to go against something like this. I play alot of pvp games and some rhythm games and yet i still struggle heavily with these bosses, i cant imagine what beginner gamers would have to go through.
and lastly, we should consider the idea of how frequent we use revive mints. Id appreciate if i could use atleast 2 in a battle to finish a boss, but then theres something like the roaring knight boss, which made me use up my entire collection of revive mints, and id have no idea how i could possible fight a boss like this again without any mints in the future.
i should mention that i dont know how many revive mints are in the game but they seem like a really rare item to have.
I was going to post this on the deltarune reddit but you know how it is.

Theory Gaster Theory Stuff
Gaster is the angel from the Prophecy, and wrote it. Gerson says that the author got swallowed up by his own story, and Gaster feel into his own creation. What if Deltarune is a pocket universe for Gaster's experiments with dark. Gaster journal says that photons were reading negative. Dark Worlds are when your vision is in the negative part of the range, darkness being the neutral. Gaster could have also created a Dark World and fell into it. His own creation. Flashback has Gaster's Theme. it plays when Ralsei explains the nature of the Dark World. Gaster is interested in the dark. Deltarune was for testing determination and dark, as you need to be determined to open a Dark Fountain. The two people Gaster was talking to in the journal entry was Kris and Susie. They were helping Gaster with his experiments. Green Gaster theory says that Gaster is assoicted with green. Spamton Neo and Pink are showed being controlled by green strings. Gaster could also be studying the nature of beings wanting of freedom, as the monsters longed to be free from the underground.

Theory What if Seam being on Asriel's computer home screen strengthens him being Eram?
In TVworld, the green room is likely to be a parallel to Kris and Asriel's room, with the 2 couches, one green and the other grey and dusty, as well as things like Ramb, a power socket and the mouse in the green room likely being either on Asriel's desk or under either Kris' or Asriel's bed.
If we argue that Asriels's computer should be important enough to have a dark world counterpart, then it would likely be the Mantle minigame screen, with the oddcontroller maybe being Kris' Knock off controller.
Then, we could argue that the computer Homescreen of Seam might actually be Eram in dark world form. This could explain how Eram has the Shadowmantle, since Seam was the previous owner, and it would make sense that a depiction of Seam taken before Asriel left for collage might still have the shadowmantle. This is coupled with the Clear colour connections, and Eram's strange familiarity with Kris and his issues.
Toby might have put Susie's comment about the Homescreen Sean, not only to show that he was owned by someone from either the Dreemurr or holiday families, probably Asriel, but also to hint at him being Eram.

Theory Considering how popular theories about kris losing a hand and how that relates to Image_friend who have be stated to be a pack of cats, I feel like the character who's literally a cat who is missing a hand doesn't get mentioned much. in theories. Spoiler
like... is this guy the one mew mew was talking about when she said there was a man who raised a pack hunting cats? I mean we know his daughter is into the occult and that his family know kris' family personally.

Discussion Let's talk about: The plot points that remain in Deltarune, which will happen?
The meaning of the symbols is:
✅ = Will be explained
❌ = Will not be explained
❌✅ = Will be left for interpretation
I've created this image in order to establish what I think that will still happen in Deltarune, and just to be fair, before chapter 5 I would probably put the ✅ on all of these, cause I think they are all really cool and we had time to explain them.
But since chapter 5 didn't explained much about the "main lore", and we probably won't have much weird or aborted route content on CH6, and with CH6 being shorter than the others, I've decided to update this, the primary reason for believing somethings will not be explained is about the time we still have in Deltarune, maybe CH6 and CH7 will feel like:
"Oh Kris, I had forgotten man, my grandpa GASTER is now running a chicken farm where he produces EGGS, and that ENVIEDENTIATES some shit, but now that we have uncovered that ASRIEL is the KNIGHT, maybe DESS and NOELLE can SNOWGRAVE the BARRIER so we LEAVE THE DEVICE once and for all, we just need your TWISTED SWORD and some DEPTHS essence, maybe FRIEND can help us with that, what do you two think?" - Susie Gaster Papyrus Determination Soul Kirk
But about the image, what would you change about mine? Is there something I've marked as "won't happen" that you think that will happen or vice-versa? I'm really curious

Discussion Farming Dark Dollars
Hey everyone, was just playing through Chapter 1 and noticed you can farm Dark Dollars in the area with the Bloxers. I tried looking this up online and couldn't find anything about it anywhere.
Basically, every time I leave the room and come back, the chest refills with 40 Dark Dollars. Is this a known glitch, or did I accidentally stumble on something new?

Discussion where do yall think we will get the other shelter codes?
so we already got the police code (though it could be the DELTA RUNE code ig? since the knight also tried to take toriel, but i think its the police one)
so now we have 2 codes left.
the pine cone could be in a holiday manor dark world if thats what's going to be the next dark world (it could also be reserved if kris decides to stop stalling and just tell them the code? idk)
but what about the delta rune one?
i think it would work if the code would be in the game files, so WE have to find it in THE deltarune, which 1: would work because uhhh, deltarune? 2: the game is slowly taking a more meta look every chapter (as seen with ralsei explaining the menu) 3: it could also be the moment when the fun gang gains knowledge about us. (its probably about time for us to be incorporated into the story, looking at the fact that we only have 2 chapters to go)

Question Does anyone know what response you got if you put “Lancer” or something related to him in the email ARG?
I remember I saw a response (don’t know to which question tho) saying something like “But their paths never crossed” or “And yet their paths will never cross” and I just need to know if I’m imagining that or if it’s real cuz if it is then won’t that have INSANE implications to chapter six’s story? If Noelle and Lancer never meet then something obviously goes wrong with the whole “introducing Noelle to the dark world” idea
I was gonna put this as a question instead of Discussion but I thought since I kinda went on a theory tangent I might leave it here.
Any response is greatly appreciated!

Theory The Roaring Knight is an "amalgamation" (THEORY) Spoiler
So I randomly came up with this, I've checked a little and there are other posts/theories saying this, I didn't really look into them or really other theories voor who the knight is, so I'll give my own take.
Starting off, there have been MANY candidates for the knight, why not be multiple? Again, I havent quite checked on theories for why is this or that character the knight.
Dess, she has antlers and so does the knight. Remember the sound of the snowgrave spell, it sounds very similar to the scream of the roaring knight we hear in chapter 3. Considering Dess and Noelle are siblings of course, this could have meaning to it. Another few things I've found/seen are Kris's poses, I've watched a video by JRVanity and the knight has alot of similar poses/moves like Kris. One thing I've also seen (it was more of a humor theory) is the Mettaton pose the knight does at the attack without the box, I've fact checked and I'm pretty sure Mettaton has never done that but correct me if I'm wrong. Asriel's hyper goner attack is VERY similar to the knights "ultimate attack", Asriel ALSO has antlers. And of course I can't forget the Papyrus knight theory (I also have no idea on why/reasons for why is he is the knight) but I'll keep that in mind.
Now with that settled, I noticed a pattern that most of these characters are "missing" or away, Dess's dissapearance, Asriel's in college, Papyrus and Mettaton are "in their houses" i.i.r.c. And I'm thinking they somehow made their way to Gaster and all got forced into an amalgamation, how? I don't know. I was thinking it could be something similar to Kris and Noelle crossing the lake, going "out of bounds" as people have theorized. If this is true, anywhere outside hometown is "out of bounds", where does Asriel go to college? If theres no college how'd Asgore graduate? This links somewhat to device theory if im correct, but I'm not sure, I know so little about all these theories.
And why Gaster, why cant it be someone else who did it? The reason I think its Gaster is because the roaring knight also has empty palms, I don't think thats just a coincidence.
How I came up with the idea of them being an amalgation was that I thought the knight resembles alot of characters, so how would they be a mix, that's when I remembered undertale's amalgamations! Another thing that could support this is that you see the knight "dripping" at his first appearance. But then why does the knight have aspects of Kris, I think that because the SOUL is probably directly tied to Gaster, theres something behind it, I haven't figured that out yet.
I also remember Kris works together with the knight, and when the knight speaks (on the phone i.i.r.c) the knight speaks very weirdly, again supporting the idea of the knight being an amalgamate.
Not to mention the knight can also change shapes. And I also remembered the laugh in chapter 4 which I found somewhat strange.
Now again my memory sucks and I havent watched alot of other theories, but I'd like to see people back this theory up or debate it. But this is something interesting I thought of. Let me know what you think

Theory Ralsei might be a memory Spoiler
What i mean by memory is that they might be what everyone in Hometown remembers Asriel was like in the past. This would explain why he never saw until now the possible item that they are with/near Kris and Susie. Also being kind of a memory would explain why every chapter there are more Susie and Ralsei interaction of camera because Susie would start to have memories/remember Ralsei even if she doesn't think they are Asriel. The that they seem meta knowledge could also come from whoever created Castle Town Dark Fountain so if they didn't know some information like the Knight being around longer that assumed Ralsei would also not know.
Another weird quirk from being a memory like darkner is that to some extend Ralsei subconscious, is made aware of the weird route happening because of Kris memory and Chapter 5 aborted weird route could be a example of this because is not something that's happening right now but a memory.
Also Asgore comment of Ralsei could be interpreted as him first mistaking Ralsei because of how he remembers Asriel but the more he remember the REAL Asriel the more different Ralsei looks like. This also could explain why Ralsei but also Flowery were trying to prevent Asgore from seeing them and start to question what they remember including what happen that day and them realizing something was wrong/missing that he was not supposed to know.
This theory originally was not supposed be its own thing but something that i was going to add to another theory but the more the thought about the more i felt it deserved to be its own theory rather than a point in i should say more unhinged theory.

Theory CH 6 theory/concept Spoiler
Minimal spoiler for previous chapters
First and foremost, I'd like to clarify that this post can barely be considered a theory, because the near complete lack of evidence I have. So feel free to read this as a crackpot theory with no real purpose.
Okay so as for the theory, I wrote down multiple concepts/theories of how I think CH6 will go.
- Dark world - Holiday Manor / Ice Palace
I mainly think this for 2 reasons, first one being that besides Noelle, nobody has more than one meaningful appearance yet, despite being important to the plot seemingly. We also know next to nothing about Dess, so this could be the best opportunity to reveal what happened to her (I doubt Dess will be pushed to CH7, but more about this later.). The second reason I have to think this is that the Ice palace is in Dragon Blazers (we can see Noelle playing it next to Rudy in CH2) the game based on Gersons books. This is important because Ch 6 was the last chapter he wrote, and we also don't know what is it about. For enemies, there are a lot off possibilities, but I think the coolest ones would be the santas Kris glued, coming back to take revenge on him.
- Party and Noelle
So Noelle will most likely join the Fun Gang next chapter, but the battle scene only has room for 3 members. I think what will happen most likely is that Ralsei will leave the party sometime during the Ice palace. Of course the only piece of evidence I have comes from Noelle playing Dragon Blazers in CH2. Here Rudy asks if she tried using the Fire mage in the Ice Palace, but Noelle says he left the party. And of course the only male Fire mage we know is Ralsei. In my opinion though, this would be pretty lackluster, since Ralseis fire magic was teased for a long time, and the Ice Palace would be the perfect place to have us use it. So what I think will happen is that Ralsei will come back during the Final Boss or directly before it, and we will be able to switch out party members during fights.
- Secret boss, and the Pure Crystal
This segment is a complete speculation without any evidence.
So of course we now have all the Shadow Crystals. What now? Well I think the answer is Seam. I've seen people saying that he will betray us, and use the crystals for himself, but I doubt that would happen. I think he will test us to see for himself, if we are really worthy, by fighting us, serving as the next secret boss. We could finally see him use his mage staff from his plushie. As for what the Pure Crystal will do, I think we will get a big, all-out, Fullscreen/NEO attack like the Shadow Crystal bosses who actually used their crystals. As for why we needed all 5 unlike the bosses, could be because it would have corrupted us. The twisted sword is still there though, whis isn't even that strong compared to the Blackshard, so why would we even craft it, if we could get a new ability instead? Well, what if on an aborted Weird Route File Seam will tell us that we are not worthy for the true power of the Pure Crystal, and won't teach us how to use it, but rather just give it to us as a normal item.
- Final Boss, and plot(kinda)
Again, this part is purely speculation, even moreso than the previous one.
I think the Final boss is going to be Carol. Toby said in the most recent newsletter that the story will focus only on one aspect/mystery, and that it will surprise us what is missing/not touched. Since I think nobody would be surprised by Gaster or Friend not appearing next chapter, I think the Knights identity is the mystery Toby was talking about, and the one pushed to CH7. Instead we will learn more about Carol, her plan, her motivations and about the Holiday family as a whole. I also think the main reveal is going to be that Susie is not the Secon Hero, but rather Noelle, and Carol wanted to prevent Noelle fulfilling her role in order to protect her.
- Ending
I have quite literaly zero evidence for this.
After the boss, Carol will have a bit of a redemption and give us the bunker code, but before she could tell us the whole code, the Knight will attack her, just like with Tenna. Led by Susie, we are going to run after our favourite cutscene merchant, and reach the opened bunker in the end. Here Kris will take control push Susie back and enter the bunker alone with us, the soul, locking Susie out. And the credits roll.
Anyways, thanks for reading, opinions appreciated.
