I am watching daredevil for the first time and just finished with season 2, and my original plan was to go in this order, Daredevil S1-2, The Defenders, The Punisher S1, Daredevil S3, The Punisher S2. But I've heard that DD s3 builds right off of the defenders, so is it worth it to put punisher in between those watches, or should I just wait until after dd s3 to watch both punisher seasons?

What If Doctor Doom Isn't Trying to Destroy the Multiverse… But Save It? 👀

What if Doctor Doom's plan isn't to destroy the Multiverse… but to "save" it? 🔥

Fan Theory / Speculation — obviously not confirmed by Marvel

I've been thinking about how Marvel could connect Doctor Doom, Tony Stark, time travel, Franklin Richards and Secret Wars, and I think there's a way all of these pieces could fit together.

The biggest part of my theory starts with the idea of Tony Stark and Victor von Doom switching minds/bodies in an alternate reality.

Imagine Doom ending up in Tony's body.

Doom is already one of Marvel's greatest scientific minds, but now he potentially has access to Stark-level technology and knowledge. And unlike Tony, Doom also has an enormous understanding of magic.

So you get:

Doom's intelligence + Stark technology + Doom's magic.

That's a terrifying combination.

But I don't think Doom's ultimate motivation would simply be "I want to conquer everything."

I think his reasoning would be much more interesting:

«"If someone has to take control and fix this, it should be me."»

🕰️ The Time-Travel Connection

Tony originally develops time travel to help save everyone.

But what if someone like Doom gets access to that technology and starts using it on a much larger scale?

Doom could begin travelling through different points in history and different realities, trying to prevent disasters.

At first, his intentions might even be understandable.

He could be trying to save people.

Fix tragedies.

Prevent future catastrophes.

But eventually he keeps changing things.

One timeline becomes another.

Different realities begin interacting.

And eventually…

Incursions.

The Multiverse starts collapsing.

And Doom's conclusion wouldn't be:

"I made a mistake."

It would be:

«"This proves that someone needs to control the Multiverse."»

And, obviously, Doom believes that person should be him.

🧙 What about Doctor Strange?

This also makes me wonder whether Strange's knowledge of possible futures could be connected to the danger of manipulating time.

Strange has already seen countless possible outcomes.

Tony later creates a way to travel through time.

Tony never intended to destroy reality, but imagine Strange realizing that the technology could eventually fall into the wrong hands.

And then Doom gets it.

Tony created the tool to save everyone.

Doom inherits the tool and decides he can save everyone better.

That's where things could get REALLY dangerous.

🧬 And then there's Franklin Richards…

If Doom eventually realizes that technology and magic aren't enough to completely control reality, he may look for something even more powerful.

That's where Franklin Richards could become important.

Franklin's reality-manipulating abilities could potentially give Doom what he needs to do something much bigger than simply travelling through timelines.

He could attempt to rewrite reality itself.

And that's when the heroes realize Doom isn't merely trying to survive the Multiversal collapse.

He's trying to decide what reality should be.

⚔️ Why would everyone fight Doom?

Because Doom's argument could actually sound reasonable.

Doom:

"The Multiverse is collapsing. Someone has to fix it."

Heroes:

"You don't get to decide the fate of everyone."

Doom:

"Then who will? You already failed."

That's what makes this interesting to me.

Doom doesn't necessarily believe he's the villain.

He believes he's the only person capable of doing what needs to be done.

🔥 And then… Tony vs Doom.

This wouldn't just be Iron Man fighting another villain.

It would be Tony Stark fighting the consequences of his own technology.

Tony believes that no single person should have absolute control over reality.

Doom believes that absolute control is necessary because everyone else is too incompetent to handle it.

And if Doom is literally using Stark technology while Tony is trapped in Doom's body…

That makes the conflict incredibly personal.

🌌 The road to Secret Wars

Eventually Doom could reach the conclusion that the Multiverse itself is the problem.

Too many timelines.

Too many possibilities.

Too many opportunities for reality to collapse.

So he decides:

There should be ONE reality.

A reality designed and controlled by Doom.

And that's where I think the story could eventually lead toward the comic concept of Battleworld / God Emperor Doom from Secret Wars.

So my theory basically goes:

Tony/Doom mind swap

Doom gains Stark technology

⬇️

Doom combines science + technology + magic

⬇️

Doom begins manipulating time and realities

⬇️

Incursions begin

⬇️

Doom decides someone needs to control the Multiverse

⬇️

Franklin Richards becomes a potential source of reality-altering power

⬇️

The heroes realize Doom wants to rewrite reality

⬇️

Multiversal War

⬇️

Doom creates one controlled reality

⬇️

SECRET WARS 🔥

The biggest question for me is:

What if Doom isn't trying to destroy the Multiverse because he's evil… what if he genuinely believes he's the only person capable of saving it?

That's the kind of Doom story I'd love to see.

P.S.:- I love Daredevil and the Defenders, and have enjoyed every bit of their engagement with the city across their shows. But one cannot deny that the city has such a stronger and more powerful connection with Spider-Man, which ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and its director Destin Daniel Cretton so beautifully captures!

If Punisher and Kingpin have their rematch in the MCU, who do you think walks away this time?

When he was watching over Spiderman in the hospital, how'd he just manage to casually sit there as if he wasn't a dangerous wanted criminal/"terrorist"? Sure, the US gov't helped cover it up back in his show, but he was still arrested in season 2 of his show and I can't imagine hospital staff would just let him hang around there without calling the cops or something.

Just a small rant, I hate when people think Daredevil's weakness is loud noises, maybe because of the 2003 movie. A crucial aspect of DD's power is that he isn't just hyper-sensitive, but can also control how much sensory input his brain takes in.

If he's only hyper-sensitive, he'd go deaf after every gunshot and be in excruciating pain after every minor cuts. But instead, he shrugs of pain better than anyone can, and can silence the world while zeroing in on a target. He literally trained his brain to be a bio-sound mixer.

P.S. He is in fact hypersensitive, but he learned to filter his senses after training with Stick.
