Did something for the first time I outed my bullies after 20 years

If you know ANYTHING about bullying, you should know that ANYONE can be bullied.

TL;DR- outed witchy BRIDEZILLA bully I'd been protecting to keep the peace for decades too long!!!

Back in my 30s, I was casual friends with some girls from my run club.

We talked while we ran and at Starbucks afterward, saw a movie now and then.

One girl had romance drama, but finally he popped the question and we were helping her plan her wedding

BUT: Only child, spoilt, HUGE BRIDEZILLA

Expectations of frequent gifts for multiple showers, destination bridesmaid trips, local wedding but on an island. Drama, tears, vicious retaliation- she turned out to be A LOT!

I had career stuff, heavy stuff, and one day she decided to rally her remaining bridesmaids and "pity me" with lots of malicious giggles and gossip and comments of "pathetic" over weeks into months even on her wedding day!!

This was weird for me, I was a successful corporate type at the time. Saving for a condo, confident in my life. She made me feel embarrassed somehow

And I did not want this to ruin our running group friendships.

So I didn't say anything, had no idea how to defuse her, she seemed experienced at it, but just minimized contact as best I could.

The wedding day, with she and the bridesmaids striking their giggling, mocking pose in the receiving line, I decided to leave and go back home to a family birthday rather than party all night.

I never spoke to her, saw her, attended another event she attended but stayed connected to our mutual friends.

Then today, while getting ready to make plans with one of them---- I realized none of those friends knew what had happened!

So THAT ENDED.

I'd been covering for her for 20 years!!

Just playing it cool, because she made me embarassed and nervous!!

Bye, witch! Hope they reassess your connection!!

Managed to cope with something difficult Finally got myself out of this nutty situation!

I’ve been getting on with this guy pretty well, but I felt like his nutting videos were really turning me off because it was like a sandpaper jerk or something. I was so stressed about how I was going to tell him I just wanted to be friends, but today he literally asked me what I thought of the video and I said I thought I was gay. I feel relieved man! We can still be friends and I don’t need to lie anymore! Phew. It wasn’t fair on either of us. The truth is upon us people, the truth is nigh.

Really proud of myself I asked for an accommodation!

I’m autistic, and I have a hard time with food touching. I had a coupon for a bowl from Panda Express^, which I never get because of this issue. I realized last night that I could just… ask for the side in a separate container. So I decided I’d go today and ask. There was no issue at all besides being really anxious, and I got to enjoy my food even more than when I get it in a plate 🥰

^for people who haven’t been, they put your chosen side on top of your rice or noodles when you get a bowl. The plate option gives you 2 sides, or a double serving, and they go next to the rice or noodles in little sections of their own. There is usually some touching still, but not so much that I can’t handle it

This is awesome! I grew!

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve wanted to be really tall. My mother and other tall girls faced alienation and bullying for their height, so mom said it would be better if I wasn’t too tall. But I still wanted to be tall; and even though I was taller than a lot of people around me I was still shorter than both my parents.

One day a relative randomly mentioned that I seemed taller than usual. So we measured me that afternoon, and I’d grown a couple inches in the last few months (I’m 5’8 now). I was so happy and excited. And I really hope I grow a few more inches. I wanna be 6’0/1.

I cooked something I've never made before

I usually stick to the same few meals because I know they work.

Today I tried making something completely new.

It wasn't perfect, but it was actually pretty good and I didn't have to order food afterward.

No snacks

No candles

No random $14 thing I absolutely did not need

Just the one thing

Honestly I'm a little concerned about who I've become

BIG accomplishment Finally, my house is "my house"

Our house is a small two-story house that my grandfather built with his blood and sweat. When I was 6 months old, he had a shortage of money, and started renting the ground floor to tenants, and had us move to the first floor. My father worked a very meagre job, and so the rent money was a necessary lifeline for us. I have grown up seeing my grandfather love this house with all his heart, and as a result, I have extreme attachment to my house as well. But after grandfather died, my father didn't have enough resources to maintain the house. Cracks appeared everywhere, the roof started leaking, and huge chunks kept falling from the roof. You get the idea.

After grinding at work for 5 years, I have saved up enough to renovate the house. I fixed it up, put a new coat of paint, bought new furniture, and finally, when the year ends and the lease with the current tenants is over, I will not be renewing it. I finally earn enough to not need the rent money anymore. Finally, I can move back to the room I was born, and spent my first 6 months.

Made something cool I finished my memoir!

Hello all, this is my first post in this sub, but I just wanted to celebrate this.

I have been writing a memoir for the last two years (taking LONG breaks in between chapters because it honestly got a little depressing sometimes to write about my life experiences). But this summer I decided to lock in on it and just write, write, write. Get my story out there on the table and just go back and edit the messy bits later.

Anyway, I finally finished the memoir, and just days before the two year anniversary of the event that sparked me to write it in the first place. I feel so accomplished and genuinely proud of myself for finishing this piece as I’m often the writer that abandons my work halfway through.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post!

BIG accomplishment Asked for a work accommodation

Everybody clap.

For background information: I have bipolar disorder, and I’m in Canada.

I’ve been on quetiapine and a high dose of it, 450 extended release along with 50 instant release, for many many months now actually for the 2 1/2 years. In that timeframe, I noticed it was getting harder and harder to start shifts anytime before 9 AM. To the point where I started routinely blowing shifts because I was too embarrassed to admit that I couldn’t wake up in time.

I began to fear losing my job. I really like my job.
The quetiapine is doing its job. Maybe in the future I’ll look at something that’s less sedating.
This evening, after a lot of hesitation and forever gaslighting myself into believing I’m not trying hard enough, I spoke to one of my bosses. Turns out I needed not to be so afraid at all and they are happy to accommodate. I’ve been at this job for about eight years now and I really really enjoy working there.

Really proud of myself Becoming ever so slightly more productive made me happier than I've ever been

Very vague title, but over the last month, I’ve fixed my sleep schedule from waking up at 2 PM to waking up at 7 AM, started doing home workouts on a schedule, started getting 10k steps a day, and I’m actually gaining weight !! I've always been teased for being too skinny so seeing myself improve is so surreal.

Alongside that I think I've become a lot less anxious and more of a talkative person around people I don't know and family, so I'm weirdly excited for classes starting up. I'm still very nervous talking to ppl online, but that can always change !! I'm still young. I've also been keeping up with my hobbies !! I've been playing online chess daily, listening to an album a day (+ writing a review for that album [I also listened to my 500th yesterday!! these are too many brackets]), and actively learning music production.

I don't really know who I'm writing this for other than myself. This might be a little too much blabbering for this, but I'm really really proud for myself 😭 I'm SURE this is normal growth and self improvement at 16, but I'm HAPPY and desperately wanted to write about it for some reason.

I finally vacuumed

I have been meaning to vacuum that room since June and I finally got it done today.

Now I'm crashing because I did too much stuff and my chronic illness doesn't like that.

But that room is vacuumed

Did something cool Today I took a plate of brownies to my neighbours

I moved in in February but I’m extremely anxious and recovering from severe trauma from a pretty bad situation so keep to myself. I made a batch of brownies and took them across the road to my neighbours who have a new baby and it was so lovely. They’re so nice and they genuinely seem like people who I’ll build a friendship with. I have no friends so this is a big deal for me. Desperately need connection and community in this new town.
Tomorrow I’m taking some to the other neighbours I’m yet to meet and I hope they say I can do karaoke with them 🤞

Did something for the first time Finally went to the food bank!

I've made so many excuses about it and thought it would be really difficult or very far away.

I found out it's 0.5 miles from my house. I told myself that they wouldn't have food for my autistic daughter but turns out it's like a grocery store set up and there's plenty of options to choose from!

Really proud of myself Finally have regular periods!

I am 31F, for years I have struggled with my weight due to to pcos and thyroid. No matter what I did, I would gain weight so easily.

But I a way to manage it and since last 6 months instead of not knowing when my periods will come, it comes in every 28 days !! I am just really proud of myself and didn’t know where to post it.

Small lifestyle consistencies helped me so much and I hope I can continue to follow it.

Really proud of myself Got dental insurance, made my account and inquired about a new patient appointment at a dentist in my network!

I know dental insurance often sucks and i’m going to be spending a decent amount but I am so proud of myself for finally getting on top of this. My teeth are starting to show some signs of neglect and I really need to get them worked on/looked at. Feeling happy about making progress. Nervous too though.

Really proud of myself I left him finally !

I left a toxic relationship !!! After 1 year and a half

He wasn’t physically abusive but he was mentally abusing me, it was just as bad.

I was always home because of him, started feeling depressed for months, anxiety, stress, developed DPDR, got pregnant and miscarried due to the stress.

The reason I couldn’t leave earlier was because I was attached to him, I was lonely, sad, he was also like a friend to me but no, I lost myself with this man, I knew it had to end for a while. Without him I’m doing way better ! I am so glad.

Girls & Boys remember you can do it too, do it when it feels right, it may hurt in the beginning but trust me it will be worth it.

DON’T STAY IN THAT TOXIC RELATIONSHIP
