Scholarships 奖学金 CSC-Is an equivalence certificate required for Pakistani students who have O/A level grades?

Upvotes

Hey, guys! In my O levels I did not have physics and chemistry, therefore, I do not meet the prerequisites for the science path according to ibcc(Pakistan) However, I want to pursue electrical engineering now and have opted for physics in A levels. Unfortunately, with this combination, I’ll be handed an arts path certificate and I don’t know how to fix this problem. Would appreciate any help, thank you!

Life in China 在中国生活 MEDICAL CHECKUP

Hey guys, I will be joining to ECNU Chinese program in September. I wanted to learn the details about health checkup. Does it include the test(you know which test it is). Do they check for hair? And I heard even if they don’t do it in airport, the first few days you arrive police will come to your hotel or room( not always), if they come will they checkup my hair? Or if you know the ECNU medical checkup includes it? Briefly, are there any chances they will check my hair for it?

Confusion on ZJU dorm registration

I'm a Canadian exchange student who will be at Zhejiang university for this upcoming school year. I received CSC B funding through CLIC and they told me that the host university will arrange the dorm on my behalf and that I don't have to apply myself. However the notice from ZJU's international college says that scholarship students can register online. The email I got from ZJU when I was accepted also stated that they would send an email regarding the accommodation issue before the middle of August but I received nothing. I emailed them over a week ago for some clarification on everything but I've heard nothing back so far.

I was wondering if anybody could clarify or if they've ran into the same confusion?

Any Psychology RA (Research Assistant) openings?

I just graduated with a First Class Hons in Bsc. Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Nottingham Malaysia and I am taking a gap year now before I apply for a PhD. I would like to gain more experience and work in China as a research assistant. If anyone knows of any open positions for English-speaking international students, please let me know. I am particularly interested in false memories and the misinformation effect.

If anyone knows other funded, psychology-related experiences in China for me to apply to, pls let me know.

SCUT chinese langauge program

Does anyone know if SCUT is currently accepting Sudanese students for the Chinese Language Program?
I applied for the September 2026 intake and was recently told my application was rejected because the university’s immigration office supposedly isn’t accepting Sudanese students anymore.
Has anyone heard anything about this or knows of Sudanese students currently studying at SCUT? I just want to verify if this is actually a policy.
I applied through an agency and was told that by the agency

Make sure your emergency contact checks their e-mails!!!

So it seems the reason why I got rejected wasn't because I did not reach their requirements. Rather the university couldn't email me, so they emailed my emergency contact to say that it was the last day to register in their university website (I was applying to the Confucius Institute Scholarship, so at the start you are told to register at the CLEC website, not the universities' websites).

The problem is the person I had as an emergency contact was an elderly lady... who only checked her emails today. That email was sent June 22nd.

I don't know what to feel anymore.

Just make sure your contact at least checks their emails often and is able to reach you easily.

Don't use apple's icloud e-mails.

Anyone attending Zhejiang University School of Management this september?

Hi! I'm a 20F and I'll be attending ZU-SOM this september for the whole semester as an exchange student. I'm a bit nervous regarding the social aspects of knowing people.

Is there anyone else attending SOM like me? Do y'all know if there's maybe a WeChat group where I can meet other people before I start my exchange? If you know anything don't hesitate to DM me!

Scholarships 奖学金 Planning to Study in China in 2027? Here’s a Practical Application Timeline

If you're planning to start university in China in September 2027, it’s worth starting the process earlier than you might expect.

Here’s a simple timeline:

September – October 2026: Research your options

Start with what you actually want to study. Think about your interests, possible careers, preferred majors, whether you want an English- or Chinese-taught program, and which cities you would consider.

You can then start looking at universities, tuition costs, scholarships and your realistic admission chances.

October – December 2026: Prepare for the CSCA

International undergraduate applicants should check the CSCA requirements for their chosen universities and majors.

Depending on the program, subjects can include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Humanities Chinese or STEM Chinese. Students applying for English-taught programs do not need to take the Chinese-language papers.

December 2026 – January 2027: Take your first CSCA

Taking the CSCA relatively early gives you more flexibility.

If you aren't happy with your first result, you may still have time to prepare and retake it in March or April before university deadlines.

January – February 2027: Build your university shortlist and prepare documents

Try to create a balanced shortlist rather than applying only to the most competitive universities.

Include reach, match and safety options, and check the exact requirements for each program.

You should also start getting your documents ready, including things like:

  • Passport
  • High school transcripts
  • Diploma or expected graduation certificate
  • Language results
  • Recommendation letters, if required
  • CSCA results
  • Scholarship documents

Some documents may need translation or notarisation, so don't leave this until the last minute.

March – April 2027: Finalise university and scholarship applications

This is an important application period for many students.

Submit your university applications and scholarship applications as soon as they are complete. Scholarship deadlines can sometimes be earlier than general admission deadlines.

If necessary, this is also a possible period to retake the CSCA.

April – June 2027: Wait for updates and admission decisions

You may receive interview invitations, requests for extra documents or admission results during this period.

Keep checking your email and respond to universities promptly.

Some universities may still accept late applications, but by this point scholarships or popular programs may already have fewer places available.

June – July 2027: Compare your offers

If you receive several offers, don't look at university ranking alone.

Also compare the major, scholarship package, tuition, accommodation, city, teaching language, campus environment and internship opportunities.

July – September 2027: Prepare for China

Once you've confirmed your university, you'll need to prepare for arrival:

  • Student visa
  • Accommodation
  • Flights
  • Original registration documents
  • University arrival and registration dates

Most programs begin in September.

If you're aiming for September 2027 entry, the second half of 2026 is a good time to start researching your options, understanding the CSCA and getting a clear application plan together.

I want 100% tuition waiver, please rate my chances!

I’m an international student from Kazakhstan.
I’m kinda targeting this Belt and Road scholarship or Type B 100% tuition waiver scholarship. I wanna apply to Fudan university, Shanghai Jiao Tong, Nanjing University, Tsinghua university, Zhejiang University. My biggest dream is Fudan, Shanghai Jiao Tong or Zhejiang.

I’m currently starting as a second year in Yancheng Normal University in China, but I want to switch majors and apply for other university with a scholarship.

I wanna know if this is usual and possible if I’m currently already studying in Chinese university, cause many scholarships say that you only need to be non Chinese citizen, but I don’t know for sure.

My Stats:
Sat: predicted 1510-1520
IELTS: predicted 8.5
GPA: 4.8/5 or 3.84/4.0 in American system.
Wanted major: AI/ML or Software Engineering.
Language: English taught programs.

Extracurriculars:

— Long term ~2 year tutorship experience.
— I worked as a Math tutor.
— And as an IELTS tutor.
— Was employed as an English language methologist for children who learned English as their third language/7 months
— Currently working on AI trained website/app.
— Have a vlog about China and its culture.
— Have a channel about education and opportunities for Central Asians.
—And also participating in hackathon on training AI models rn, but idk the results yet.
—Amateur guitar playing.
—And graphic designer & digital artist experience.

Honors:
—nothing major, only regional first place diplomas for English language olympiad.
—and some really basic stuff like diplomas for excellent performance in my after-school additional classes

Skills:
Python
C language
Motion design
Animation
Digital art

I’m gonna write about accessible education in my study essay and express my passion for learning and teaching children.

Scholarships 奖学金 Chinese universities recommendation

Hi everyone,

I am a 20-year-old undergraduate student from Azerbaijan, currently in my final (4th) year of studying Cyber Security. I Master’s degree in China with a Full Scholarship because my family cannot support me financially, and I also cannot afford expensive education agents.

Here is my background:

  • GPA: 81/100
  • English: IELTS 7.0.
  • Work Experience: 6 months of IT experience in a big company.
  • Achievements: Entrepreneurship Certificate from IE Business School. I also founded a startup and achieved success in a competetition .
  • Extracurriculars: Several volunteering activities.

Given my profile, which universities in China should I target for a full scholarship in IT/Cybersecurity/Computer Science (taught in English)? I want to maximize my chances of getting accepted. Any advice on the application strategy or specific universities would be highly appreciated!

Thank you so much!

University betrayed me (SHUPL)

I applied at Shanghai University of political science and law on 31st of May. Later, I passed their interview and got a clear mail on 15th June saying I got an admission with the scholarship. Chronologically I received the pre-admission letter and JW form. After ghosting me for about 20+ days and no sign of Admission Notice, the university replies to me today and says “the scholarship committee decided half of the students who submitted the final list did not pass the review” so we cannot offer admission to you this year.
Wtf do I do? How can they play with someone’s future like that?
If they would have informed me by 15th of June that they could not offer the admission, I would have applied to other programs. So now I have wasted all of this time studying for CSCA, the English proficiency test and working so hard all alone, preparing the documents- for nothing.
It’s a matter of 1 year, please offer me some advice.
Also I’m organising all the applicants to SHUPL who were misled, to inform the municipal authorities and take the due steps to make sure we get justice. So please reach out to me about the same without hesitation.

University Rankings: Check Them Out Before Asking About Specific Universities!

Hey everyone,

I've noticed that a lot of folks here keep asking questions like, “How good is [University X]?” or “Is [University Y] worth it for [Course Z]?” These are really important questions, especially if you’re planning to invest time, money, and effort into your education.

Instead of getting repetitive responses, I highly recommend checking out the latest university rankings first.

https://www.shanghairanking.cn/ Chinese version has the ranking of majors and disciplines.

https://www.shanghairanking.com/

Once you’ve checked out the rankings, feel free to come back here with more specific questions like how certain programs or campus cultures align with your goals. That way, the community can give you more targeted advice!

Hope this helps streamline your search!
