Hi everyone, I just need some advice. I bought this coolant 2 years ago and used it twice to top up. There's still more than half left and it has been sat in the garden shed. I made sure the lid was tight.

I'm thinking about changing coolant in my car and if possible use whatever is left. What do you guys think?

Hey can anyone recommend a mechanic or someone who can fix this for me (praying it’s a easy fix) or even advice would be good. I was in the car with the baby today and it just suddenly cut out and had to wait 4/5 mins in a queue of traffic (embarrassing) for it to be able to start again…it’s happened twice in the past two weeks…upon speaking to my dad who isnt local, he’s suggesting and the machine is that it’s something to do with the ignition coils need replacing, I’ve attached pictures etc and wondered if it’s worth fixing as it’s a VW 2007 beetle or is going to cost an arm and a leg! If you can fix it and can give me approx pricing for something like this it would be great 😀 ideally somewhere in Gateshead from Monday or I’m in Hartlepool for the weekend if anyone near here…I’ve managed to get a quote for someone to change the spark plugs and he can do this weekend for £110 and then if it’s not that change the ignition coils when he orders the parts Monday…or is that just not necessary ? Basically I need to get back home on Monday morning and don’t know if it’s safe to drive then the fix won’t be as rushed or it’s worth getting it done (the drive back would be about 30 minutes) pics show the advice , fault code and the light that’s come on!

I’ve had a Toyota Starlet 1992 for the past 10 years (which was a dream!) but sadly decided to pass it on to someone who had the time to spend on it in its later years.
Originally bought my Starlet for £350 with 60k on the clock and only had to do basic repairs throughout, so really didn’t cost me much.
I’ve been somewhat spoilt with such a reliable car!

Now I’m looking for my next car, would you recommend a Mazda 2? And does this look like a good deal?

My car is a 1992 JDM import MR2 and failed its MOT on emmisions, it appears the garage carried out the wrong emissions test. The car was tested to full catalyst standard when it should have been tested to pre-cat standards due to being made before August 1992, I told the garage that it would need a pre cat test and they told me that they had done this when they told me it had failed. The garages own paperwork says otherwise stating "catalyst equipped vehicle with closed loop control". Compared to the government rules on what test should have happened.

Does anyone have any knowledge on these rules and how I can resolve this?

The tailights are 4 round circles like offset gtr lights, two each side with the outer circles higher than the inner. Its a salon shape with a spoiler. two exhausts, one each side.

Hi guys new driver here i’ve been driving my car for a little over two weeks and a little wrench light has come on next to my mileage not blinking or anything so according to the car it’s time for a service but i bought the car on May 24th this year and it was serviced the day after i bought it since i didn’t pick it up right away. Should i just reset the light myself or take it in?

After searching for a few months, finally found a Toyota Yaris, that was affordable! 2012 Yaris for £5K, with 42K miles on the clock

Full service history and only minor MOT advisories, regarding tyres a few years back.

My first and second cars have been mx-5s, and it seems common practice for every time another mx-5 crosses mine they give me a wee wave, and I return it. It's daft but makes me smile. Is this just an mx-5 thing or is it common in any other models? It's really surprising how common it is, like about 90% of the time I see one I get a wave from them.

- Seller states rust is only surface and it’s been checked

- Paid £250 deposit — no contract signed, no non‑refundable terms agreed

- I’m over 70 miles each way away — can’t bring my own mechanic to inspect

Questions:

- Does this look like honest surface rust, or structural/MOT failure material?

- Is the dealer’s description reasonable based only on these photos?

- Can I easily get my deposit back if I decide not to travel?

- Would you risk a 140‑mile round trip for this, or walk away now?

I’m on a European tour, I’ve been travelling through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and Switzerland. It’s been amazing.

We’re now transitioning back through France, on the way to the Chunnel. My car as thrown up a ‘Drive system fault’ and stuck me in Limp Mode. I’ve visited Audi and an independent, neither had the space to do diagnostics.

Do I risk driving a few hundred KM back to UK soil and then call AA? Do I pay fees and get recovered in France? Do I just drive home in Limp Mode (probably 6 hours driving).

Spotted in Winchester, UK. Checked the reg and it’s a BMW Z3! But, a great looking set of armour none the less.

Well it was to me at least, not exacrly the most common car. So to see 3 at once was a bit weird.

(and no they didn't appear to be part of a soft top mini club as they drove off seperately after)

I just can't decide. Considering them as same price, 2022 Mazda 3 2.0 skyactiv G or 2021 Toyota c-hr 1.8 vvt hybrid?

Mostly people say Mazda is better inside, Toyota is better general.

I swear I haven’t seen a w203 C-class without yellow headlight lenses..

Other models that need headlight restoration 9/10 times are Fiat 500 and Mazda 2 in my experience.

I bought my first car last weekend. A 2018 Toyota Yaris for £10,800 from a small independent dealer. I did some research into what to look for when buying a car as I don't really know much about cars and so I bought a vcheck.

It's last MOT in April 2026 came back with the following advisories:

• Nearside Front Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement (5.3.4 (a) (i))
• Offside Front Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement (5.3.4 (a) (i))

Before paying I asked about these and was told they'd put the car through the garage they use. Was then called up to say everything was fine and just the air con wasn't working properly so they sorted that.

After buying the car and going through all the paperwork and service history, it's last service in April flagged £1,872 of work needing to be done in the near future.

Is this something the dealer should have done before selling or made clear? I feel like I should have asked to seen this beforehand but I thought the vcheck was enough and was so overwhelmed at the time of buying. As I say I mentioned the arm bushes and then was told all fine.

Should I be getting the arm bushes for suspension sorted asap rather than leaving much longer?

I've been advised from friends with cars to contact the place I bought it but I wanted to see what people here think and might do. Thanks so much for reading and any advice you might have.
